By not voting - you still have voted

IF you choose not to vote, you still have voted

Make a difference people vote!

Vote for the candidate of your choice or vote against the candidate you don't like, either way, vote. It's not an option in a democracy!

How Bernie Sanders would transform the nation - WAPO

In the America that Bernie Sanders wants to create, tuition would be free for every student at every public college.

Which, of course, is another way of saying that the government would pay for it. To do that, the Democratic presidential candidate would spend $750 billion over 10 years, and raise the money with a new tax on Wall Street trades.

And, once government was paying for college, colleges would run by government rules. Sanders’s rules. For one thing, Sanders thinks student centers are a waste of government money. He’d make sure they didn’t get any more of it.

If he becomes president, Sanders would spend an enormous amount of money: $3.27 trillion. At the very, very least. But he is not just a big-spending liberal. And his agenda is not just about money.

Bernie Sanders — a senator from Vermont who describes himself as a “democratic socialist” — will never get everything he wants in Washington. And that still would be true if he became President Sanders. Republicans in the Congress would fight him fiercely. Democrats might not be much help. In fact, Sanders’s most recent Senate bills — legislation that would make college free and provide universal health care — attracted exactly zero Democrats as co-sponsors.

How are you going to get elected if you are not going to get anyone to work with you? Now granted, this is the media saying this, but that has been on my mind since he started running. He already has fierce resistance in Congress, how is making him President going to improve that?

While he has some good agenda items, the above and several other key things all listed at some point or an other in the article concern me.

Don't jump on my because I have not fully committed to any candidate at this point and probably will not until closer to voting in the primary. So blasting me for this post will not sway me one way or the other at this point.

My daughter posted this on Facebook after a discussion we had about young people not voting

She was telling me about what she and many of her friends thought about the candidates her friends are all left leaning from what she said. We have raised our girls to make up their own mind and it was instilled in them that voting is not optional.

So in our conversation about young support of a candidate I pointed out that young people didn't vote in the last election.
So today she posted this with a message calling out her friends who didn't vote.

This slideshow outlines why our economy will never fully recover...

The list shows the biggest industry for each state. With the exception of a few the big three are

1. Healthcare related - Hospitals and ambulatory care
2. Insurance - obviously related to number 1
3. Banking - someone has to handle the money from the above

Manufacturing is gone, Ohio which once was where everything was made is now healthcare. Michigan and Kentucky remain the only two true Manufacturing states. West Virginia and Wyoming are busy destroying the planet with mining and then there are the typical Oil producing states.

We are all living to take care of each other or take each others money, no one is making anything for anyone else anymore.

Carson In 2011: Darwin 'Encouraged' By Satan To Come Up With Evolution

Republican presidential candidate and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said in a 2011 speech speech that he thought scientist Charles Darwin was "encouraged by the adversary," using another word for Satan, when he came up with the theory of evolution.

Carson spoke on "creation vs. evolution" and the "flaws in the evolutionary theory," according to the description on the YouTube video uploaded by user Three Angels Messages, which has uploaded a variety of news and political videos. The video was flagged on Tuesday by the website BuzzFeed News.

"According to the creation model, in which we have an adversary, it’s very easy to explain why people act that way. It’s because they have choice and because there is an adversary out there," Carson told the crowd.

Carson discussed Darwin's theory of evolution and its intersection with religion.

"I personally believe that this theory that Darwin came up with was something that was encouraged by the adversary and it has become what is scientifically politically correct," he said.

Republicans are using women's right to sexual health as a flimsy excuse to shutdown the government

I am not big on Opinion articles, I believe that I should form my own opinion based on the facts but the above line and this opinion article from NY Times nails it:

The G.O.P.’s Obsession With Planned Parenthood

Congressional Republicans are again playing brinkmanship with the budget — some are even threatening to shut down the government — in order to score ideological and political points. On Tuesday, the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, introduced a bill to keep the government running for a few months past the end of this fiscal year on Sept. 30 — as long as Democrats agree to cut off money for Planned Parenthood.

There is no way the bill will survive Democratic objections, so by early next week Mr. McConnell is expected to introduce another temporary spending bill without the objectionable provision. But in the meantime he will have drawn public attention to his party’s political campaign against Planned Parenthood.

The latest phase of this campaign began in July with deceptive videos by anti-abortion activists. The videos showed Planned Parenthood officials discussing fetal-tissue donation, which is legal and critical for medical research. Republicans say the videos are evidence that Planned Parenthood illegally profits by selling aborted fetuses and should therefore be stripped of federal money.

Hillary Clinton Just Trolled the GOP Debate So Good

In Donald Trump's America, everyone speaks English.

When asked by CNN's Dana Bash during Wednesday night's GOP debate about his criticism of Jeb Bush for speaking Spanish on the campaign trail, the Republican front-runner and real estate mogul responded:

We have to have assimilation to have a country. We have to have assimilation. I'm not the first one to say this, Dana. We have had many people over the years for many, many years saying the same thing. This is a country where we speak English, not Spanish.

In true troll fashion, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton tweeted some insight.

For those who didn't understand her, Clinton said: "Freedom includes the right to speak in any language. That makes us strong as a country, and it is something that we should celebrate—not denigrate."

200 Feet Or More Of Sea Level Rise: Here’s What That Looks Like

The bad news: If we burn all of the planet’s fossil fuels, we’ll melt all of the world’s land ice.

The good news: You’ll be long gone so … party on!

Homo sapiens sapiens, the species with the ironic name, is not known for long-term thinking. So if the very real danger of Sandy-level storm surges coming every year or two in a half century — along with Dust-Bowlification of a third of the Earth’s habitable and arable landmass — isn’t enough to stop us from using the atmosphere as an open sewer for carbon pollution, then the prospect we are going to melt all of the Earth’s land ice and raise sea levels more than 200 feet over the next few millennia or so ain’t gonna do the trick.

Still, here’s what that would look like for the United States (via National Geographic):

On the bright side, think of all the great scuba diving there will be off of our new coastline!

http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2015/09/16/3701137/200-feet-sea-level-rise/

I just want to figure out where the new shoreline will be so I can buy what will become beachfront? Goldmine!
