Judge Issues Restraining Order Against Trump Campaign to Prevent Voter Intimidation

In a surprise ruling, a US district judge in Ohio issued a restraining order against Donald Trump's campaign to prevent anyone working on the campaign from harassing and intimidating voters at the polls on Tuesday.

The order came after a two-hour hearing in which the judge pressed Trump's lawyer to justify the candidate's inflammatory rhetoric about voter fraud. It also applies to close Trump adviser Roger Stone, who has organized poll-watching activities, and the "officers, agents, servants, and employees" of Trump and Stone.

Voter fraud has been a popular theme among Republicans this year, from Trump to state Republican leaders who cite fraud as a reason to make it more difficult to vote. But as Friday's ruling shows, it's a lot easier to warn about fraud on the campaign trail than in front of a judge.

The restraining order is the result of a lawsuit filed by the Ohio Democratic Party against Trump, Stone, and the Ohio Republican Party. The suit asked the court to declare it illegal to intimidate voters at the polls. Similar suits have been filed in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Michigan. The Ohio complaint laid out a long history of remarks by Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence, encouraging supporters to watch the polls. (For example, Trump told a crowd in Akron, Ohio, "And when I say 'watch,' you know what I'm talking about right? You know what I'm talking about.&quot The order also covers Stone, after the complaint detailed efforts by his group, Stop the Steal, to recruit poll watchers and conduct exit polls on Election Day, among other activities. The complaint cited provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871 that prohibit voter intimidation.

The Food Stamp Capital of the U.S. is WHITE and REPUBLICAN

In spite of the prevailing stereotypes and assumptions about who uses SNAP Food Stamp benefits the most in the United States, the highest usage is not in Compton, Queens, nor the South Side of Chicago. Instead, a city that is 99.22% white and 95% Republican comes in the lead. Owsley County, Kentucky is a community of about 5,000, residents earning the lowest median household income in the country outside of Puerto Rico, according to the U.S. Census.

The decline in the profits from coal, tobacco and lumber industries led to a harsh toll being taken on the community.

Cale Turner, county executive of Owsley County told ABC back in 2010 that economic hardships have led to a high incidence of drug addiction.

Fantastic new out of Cuyahoga County Ohio (Cleveland)

Battleground Cuyahoga poll: Hillary Clinton has wide lead among early voters; Donald Trump closer among those yet to vote

A Battleground Cuyahoga poll conducted Tuesday and Wednesday shows Hillary Clinton leading in Cuyahoga County both among people who have already voted, and those yet to vote. The poll was conducted by Baldwin Wallace University and cleveland.com.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Early voters in Cuyahoga County favor Hillary Clinton by a 3-to-1 margin over Donald Trump, according to a Battleground Cuyahoga poll conducted Tuesday and Wednesday by Baldwin Wallace University and cleveland.com

Clinton's lead in the early voting - 73.6 percent to 24 percent - is wider than Barack Obama's victory margin over Mitt Romney (69.4 percent to 29.6 percent) four years ago in the heavily Democratic county.

Yet, among those who have not yet voted, Trump fares better, according to the survey of 1,966 cleveland.com readers.

Two Cleveland news as anchors dismissed after social media posts concerning the election

'Good Morning Cleveland' anchors Jackie Fernandez, Somara Theodore let go after social media posts

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- WEWS Channel 5 "Good Morning Cleveland" anchor Jackie Fernandez and meteorologist Somara Theodore are no longer with the station.

"We don't discuss internal employee matters," news director Jeff Harris said in a statement. "However, News 5 holds all of its journalists to the highest ethical standards."

Harris would not speak directly to the reason why Fernandez and Theodore were let go, but FTVLive, a TV news industry site, reported it was because the two waited in line for tickets to Jay Z's upcoming Cleveland concert for Hillary Clinton on company time last week and then posted about it on social media.

"It is important to the reputation of our station and to Scripps, our parent company, that our news coverage is fair and unbiased," Harris said. "Those crucial qualities have been emphasized repeatedly during this contentious election season.

"We remind our journalists frequently to avoid even the appearance of support for any sides of this election. It is imperative that we maintain objectivity in the work we do to serve our communities in NE Ohio."

Truckload of manure dumped in front of Warren County Ohio Democratic Headquarters

A truckload of manure was dumped outside of the Warren County Democratic Headquarters.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday morning to a call of criminal damaging at the building in the 1900 block of US 42 in Lebanon.

Bethe Goldenfield, chairperson with the Warren County Democratic Party, said that security cameras show that at 12:03 a.m., a truckload of manure was dropped at the front door of their building and that they’re working with local officials to identify who was behind it, saying "This is not going to deter or intimidate us, and will in fact motivate us even more."

She went on to say, "We will do what we need to do to increase our vote margins in Warren county. Perhaps they’re worried about how well we are doing."

Went to Capitol Steps performance tonight, very funny political satire.

Always current events. This performance focused on the election but had a few other things as well, like the Pope and global warming.

When you go you have to leave your personal politics outside. Everyone does usually, but tonight there were two Trump supporters who demonstrated they are as obnoxious as Trump himself. The even cheered Vladimir Putin until they realized that they were putting him down. Then they started heckling.
