Two gripes after a 12 day road trip.

When did the left lane become the primary driving lane?

Most of the trip I was driving my car, the last leg was a truck. Being in a truck amplifies the left lane drivers problem. Left lane drivers cause traffic congestion and create hazardous passing situations, passing on the right and cutting off the right lane driver to get where you can pass the left lane loafers. And if you are driving a truck, give up on ever passing slower vehicles.

The other pet peeve: When did it become normal to come to a dead stop on the freeway when it rains? It's a great way to end up dead. I saw no less than six rear end collisions today alone because someone stopped in the rain. If you can't handle driving in the rain, pull off the damn road!

An 8 hour drive turned into 12 hours due to thsee stump driving tricks.

Rant Off

Road trip observations

I have been on the road for several days, much of the trip through red states. Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri.

Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee had all their rest area closed except for the tourist information centers.

Saving $$$ would be my guess. These fuckers are running g this country to the ground.

Ford to import Focus from China instead of Mexico

Detroit Free Press and The Courier Journal

Ford, which was under fire for much of 2016 for its plans to build the Focus in Mexico, said today it is shifting gears a second time and will instead import most of its next generation Focus cars from China in a move designed to improve the automaker's "operational fitness."

The move is the first major decision since Jim Hackett replaced Mark Fields as CEO of Ford last month. Hackett told the Free Press last week the company is working to figure out the best ways to spend its capital. Today, Ford said it will save a total of $1 billion in investment costs by building the Focus in China by canceling plans for an all-new manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

My lunch experience in coal country, Beckley West Virginia

I was doing some long distance driving today and found myself in Beckley at lunch time, so I pull off the road into a local establishment, placed my order and had a seat. As I sit there, I can't but help to hear these two old toothless farts talking about the London terror attacks, on ask if the woman speaking was their Prime Minister, the responds don't know and don't give a shit. There your first clue, these people are uninformed.

The conversation progressed to their beloved, thing in the white house to which the refer to as President. At some point one said to the other that the president has his head exactly where it needs to be on this. I literally spit my food out and laughed out loud at them.

At this point, I lost my appetite and got up to pay my bill, on the way out, I stopped and ask the old fuckers if the coal jobs had come back yet and then walked out.

Let's hope that Teddy Roosevelt haunts Butternut as he wanders the White House.

Teddy, a republican was a great conservationists and would be stomping mad at this development.
