Did Biden flip some breakers in the White House before he left...

President Trump loves to set the day’s narrative at dawn, but the deeper story of his White House is best told at night.

Aides confer in the dark because they cannot figure out how to operate the light switches in the cabinet room. Visitors conclude their meetings and then wander around, testing doorknobs until finding one that leads to an exit. In a darkened, mostly empty West Wing, Mr. Trump’s provocative chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, finishes another 16-hour day planning new lines of attack.

Usually around 6:30 p.m., or sometimes later, Mr. Trump retires upstairs to the residence to recharge, vent and intermittently use Twitter. With his wife, Melania, and young son, Barron, staying in New York, he is almost always by himself, sometimes in the protective presence of his imposing longtime aide and former security chief, Keith Schiller. When Mr. Trump is not watching television in his bathrobe or on his phone reaching out to old campaign hands and advisers, he will sometimes set off to explore the unfamiliar surroundings of his new home.

New Dove ad trolls trump.

COMMENTS

Unilever’s brand Dove, producer of soaps and other personal care products, has just released an ad campaign in the UK mercilessly mocking Donald Trump’s administration.

Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway recently claimed that the Administration was offering “alternative facts” instead of lies when she was accused of spreading obvious falsehoods. Now Dove has released a #alternativefacts advertising spread in several prominent British newspapers including the Guardian and the Times.

POLITICSTrump Hotels Just Asked Twitter To Share A Travel Memory. Their Responses Are SAVAGE

As Donald Trump’s appalling anti-Muslim immigration executive order led to hundreds of refugees and green-card holders being arrested and detained at airports across the United States, his own hotel chain made the extremely poor decision to ask the internet to share a favorite travel memory.

Twitter immediately jumped on the company, barraging them with powerful stories of their families’ immigration woes and some well-deserved mockery.

@TrumpHotels @nybooks When @realDonaldTrump kicks the bucket, my favorite trip will be visiting his cemetery to literally shit on his grave.

To the trump supporters (from Facebook)

Dear Trump supporters:
You created us when your uninformed voting put a dangerously incompetent man into the White House.
You created us when your patriotic outrage was not stirred by proof that a hostile, foreign government interfered in a process we hold sacred.
You created us when with your vote you have caused this country to be imperiled by the choices of your candidate's cabinet picks. His Department of Energy does not know how the Department of Energy functions.
You created us when you tried to still our righteous anger with your mocking patronization.
You created us when your candidate openly derided a handicapped man and your silence was deafening.
You created us when your contemptible tantrum elected a man who was sanctioned and fined for refusing to rent to black people.
Who believes sexual assault is just good ole boys having fun.
Who has expunged the exemplary qualities of the Latino population by his malevolent words about them.
And by the glaring absence of Latino participation in any part of his administration.
You created us when you insist prayer belongs in publicly funded schools, instead of churches. The Founding Fathers held firm on this principle with good reason.
You created us when you put our federal budget at the mercy of a man who will not release his tax returns. Who has a long inventory of failed business ventures, including four bankruptcies.
You created us by not joining us.By clinging resolutely to the belief in the virtue of your choice, despite overwhelming confirmation of the folly of your vote.
You created us when you dismiss critical thinking as something to be ashamed of instead of something that is vital to a thriving democracy.
You created us by your continued wilful ignorance, your misplaced ire, and your stubborn refusal to see the truth.

New Wyoming bill forbids utilities from using renewables

JANUARY 19, 2017 —While renewable-energy use has grown substantially over the last few years, the regulatory environment remains volatile.

Some states have worked hard to stimulate renewable energy, supporting infrastructure projects and offering incentives to consumers who install home solar arrays.

But others have tried to restrict renewable energy, often at the behest of lobbyists for electric utilities and fossil-fuel providers that fear its growth.

One of the states in the latter category is Wyoming, where Republican legislators recently introduced a bill that would essentially ban large-scale renewable energy in the state.

The new Wyoming bill would forbid utilities from using solar or wind sources for their electricity by 2019, according to Inside Climate News.

Trumps Lies vs. Your Brain

Unfortunately, it’s no contest. Here’s what psychology tells us about life under a leader totally indifferent to the truth.

All presidents lie. Richard Nixon said he was not a crook, yet he orchestrated the most shamelessly crooked act in the modern presidency. Ronald Reagan said he wasn’t aware of the Iran-Contra deal; there’s evidence he was. Bill Clinton said he did not have sex with that woman; he did, or close enough. Lying in politics transcends political party and era. It is, in some ways, an inherent part of the profession of politicking.

But Donald Trump is in a different category. The sheer frequency, spontaneity and seeming irrelevance of his lies have no precedent. Nixon, Reagan and Clinton were protecting their reputations; Trump seems to lie for the pure joy of it. A whopping 70 percent of Trump’s statements that PolitiFact checked during the campaign were false, while only 4 percent were completely true, and 11 percent mostly true. (Compare that to the politician Trump dubbed “crooked,” Hillary Clinton: Just 26 percent of her statements were deemed false.)

Those who have followed Trump’s career say his lying isn’t just a tactic, but an ingrained habit. New York tabloid writers who covered Trump as a mogul on the rise in the 1980s and ’90s found him categorically different from the other self-promoting celebrities in just how often, and pointlessly, he would lie to them. In his own autobiography, Trump used the phrase “truthful hyperbole,” a term coined by his ghostwriter referring to the flagrant truth-stretching that Trump employed, over and over, to help close sales. Trump apparently loved the wording, and went on to adopt it as his own.
