Far-right extremists pose rising threat in North Texas around election, FBI's Dallas office says

The FBI’s Dallas field office warned law enforcement this week that far-right extremist groups are likely to expand their influence and could pose a violent threat in North Texas, especially between the Nov. 3 election and January’s presidential inauguration.

The election could serve as a “potential flashpoint,” says a field office report that was first made public by The Nation.

The field office’s report — marked “unclassified/law enforcement sensitive” — says the fringe boogaloo movement is likely to step up its violent anti-government rhetoric and criminal activities, increasing the threat of violence in North Texas.

I guess we just saw a run up to this at the Denton Buc-ees. That goon-thug did get arrested. Keep safe out there, everyone and remember to always be aware of your surroundings!

Montana Man Charged with 64 Child Sex Crimes Gets Deferred Prison Sentence

After accepting a plea deal from prosecutors, a Montana man who was charged with 64 individual counts, including rape and sexual abuse of children, may never spend any time behind bars after receiving a 1-year deferred prison sentence on Monday.

William Edward Miller Jr., according to reports, received the sentence from Judge Elizabeth Best.

Miller will be on unsupervised probation for the next year. If, after the year, the 51-year-old has committed no other crimes, the entire matter will be expunged from his record.

He was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and permitting an 11-year-old boy to rape her, too.

In August of 2019, state authorities filed 64 counts of sexual abuse of children, alleging that Miller possessed images of child pornography and bestiality on his phone and laptop.

In court, Miller said the entire case destroyed the lives of him and his wife. "We're suffering," the paper quotes him as saying. "I’ve served time in jail for stuff that I didn’t even do." Miller said he wants to be a good person but has had "really bad luck," the paper reports.

WOW, this is NOT justice. What about the child this deranged man RAPED. Will she get murdered by this "man" like that other woman received after the early release of her tormentor?

A Mail Carrier Took People's Absentee Ballot Requests And Switched Their Party To Republican

A West Virginia mail carrier is facing prison time after admitting he attempted election fraud by changing the party registrations of people who had requested absentee ballots for the state's June primary, officials announced Thursday.

Thomas Cooper, 47, of Dry Fork signed an agreement in which he pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to defraud the residents of West Virginia of a fair election and one count of injury to the mail.

Cooper attorney Scott Curnutte told BuzzFeed News his client had engaged in a "silly lark."

"He is deeply sorry for the implications for our democratic process," Curnutte said. "It should be remembered, however, that the mail he altered were requests for ballots, not ballots themselves."

NEWSFLASH: Scott Curnutte, they voters would have received ballots for the republicons. GOOBER

Greg Abbott has issued a Proclamation Allowing Postponement of Local Elections Until Nov 3rd

Tarrant County Democratic Party posted this on fb.

The move comes after Abbott issued a disaster declaration over the pandemic that paved the way for him to suspend parts of the state’s election code to allow for postponements. Notably, individual municipalities will still have to act to postpone their elections, but Abbott urged officials to move them to November.

"I strongly encourage local election officials to take advantage of these waivers and postpone their elections until November," Abbott said in a statement. "Right now, the state's focus is responding to COVID-19 — including social distancing and avoiding large gatherings. By delaying this election, our local election officials can assist in that effort."

Abbott’s proclamation comes on the heels of Texas Democrats’ request for the state to consider a universal voting-by-mail contingency plan for the upcoming elections, including the May 26 runoff that Abbott has not yet issued guidance on. The proposal would mark a massive expansion of voting by mail, which has been fairly limited in Texas. To be eligible under typical circumstances, a voter has to be 65 years or older, have a disability or illness, be out of the county during the election period, or be confined in jail.

So, shut down elections meanwhile Texas schools remain open.

We have a senatorial runoff, so How will it be determined who is Cornyn's challenger?

Will Abbott draw their names out of a hat?

Facebook takes down false ad from PAC on Republican Graham

I don't recall seeing this anywhere.

Oct 26 (Reuters) - Facebook Inc said on Saturday that it had removed an ad which falsely claimed that U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham supported the Green New Deal, demonstrating that it will fact-check ads from political groups but not politicians.

The ad, which ran on Friday, was put up as a stunt by a left-leaning Political Action Committee, or PAC, called The Really Online Lefty League, to test Facebook's political ad policies.

Facebook spokesman Tom Channick told Reuters on Friday that since the new ad came from a political action group, rather than a politician, it was eligible for review by the company's third-party fact-checking partners.

Angry high school students chase off members of the Westboro Baptist Church

When members of the Westboro Baptist Church showed up at a high school campus in Kansas City, MO, to protest the recent election of a trans girl as homecoming queen, a group of high school students were not pleased.

As members of the hate group congregated outside Oak Park High School, waving their usual “God Hates Fags” signs, they quickly faced a group of counter-protesters, carrying signs that read “Westboro Baptist Church need Jesus” and chanting “Long live the queen!”

When the hate group saw the mob of students heading their way, they realized they outnumbered and immediately ran to the safety of their minivan. As they skidded away hastily, students cheered.
