Wow! That was a close call.

I assume you're keeping close tabs on your BP a few times a day now.

Take care & good luck to you!

My hubby spend hrs in the ER just 3 nights ago - he had all the tests & scans you mentioned. His BP had hit 212/101 ...and was holding no matter what he did or took.

Now, even with higher triple doses of his meds, his BP was still too high. Everything that was tried was not moving it down enough.

He's cut out all salt that he can in his diet but his BP is still too high. Conclusion: it's his anxiety level.

He's a terrible worrywart; even driving causes him too much anxiety, so I've been driving everywhere since he's retired. His anxiety has just gotten worse as he ages. Sigh.

So...last night I insisted he take some THC drops a friend sent & finally that brought his anxiety level down, resulting in lower BP. I suggested he ask his doc for some Xanax. He hates to admit he needs something like that but he does.

Could anyone eat their dog or cat?

Grew up on a farm where I helped raise farm critters and formed an intense attachments to calves & baby piglets.

When those critters matured and were sent to the slaughter house/ abattoir and came back as huge chunks of raw meat being packaged up on our kitchen table, that's when my sister, brother, & I stopped consuming meat.

As a result, we became pale, sickly looking, anemic kids to the point that the family doc prescribed some foul tasting tonic. We could've been fed fish, seafood, & eggs as our protein source but my controlling, asshole father wouldn't allow fish, much less seafood in the house!! Yes, he was THAT BAD; he was a very controlling, unhappy person!!

Gotta hand it to them: my brother & sis are still strict vegetarian. BUT my hubby refuses to go that route. Being a "city kid," he had never been exposed to the loving personalities & tender side of farm critters. I've tried to shame him: "could we kill & eat our pup tonight?"
The reprimands & shaming didn't work; he still wants his red meat; seafood just isn't enough.

I can maintain a monotonous diet; hubby can't. And doesn't want to pursue it either!! Sigh. (Otherwise, he is a very wonderful person & one of the most loving fur-dads in the world - for dogs & kitties.) Btw, our pets need meat too.

Thought: could our cave-dwelling ancestors have survived without eating animals? I know: "when we know better, we do better.". At least some of us.

Btw, the Chinese and Asian cultures are worse than ours when it comes to empathy for animals.

How do people acquire empathy?? That's all it takes to care: empathy.

Bravo !!

if you pay them, Facebook will run any “political” ad you want, even if it’s a lie.....

if Facebook were around in the 1930s, it would have allowed Hitler to post 30-second ads on his “solution” to the “Jewish problem.”.

Too many idiots in my neighborhood voted for him; the neighborhood is filled with retired military. All those tv's tuned to Fux on military bases seem to have done a great brainwashing job.

You cannot reason with them in the least unless you want to be considered anti-American. Seriously.

Good for them. Poor doggo.

I know a writer/ professor's wife in Blacksburg who kept seeing a badly mistreated dog tied in a yard on her daily walk. His owner was a horrible old grouch who had no mercy but she thought of an idea: buy the dog from him! It worked. The dear big dog lived the rest of his life pampered and loved.

Some people should never own an animal...or have children.
