EDIT: Now w/a nice little video. Harlem Globetrotters Legend Fred 'Curly' Neal Dies at Age 77

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2883223-harlem-globetrotters-legend-fred-curly-neal-dies-at-age-77

Harlem Globetrotters legend Fred "Curly" Neal died Thursday. Mannie Jackson, who once owned the Globetrotters, confirmed Neal's death to The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.

He was 77.

According to the team's official website, Neal made more than 6,000 appearances across the country from 1963-85. The Globetrotters retired his No. 22 jersey in 2008, and he was the fifth person at the time to receive the honor.

TMZ Sports provided a statement from Globetrotters general manager Jeff Munn: "We have lost one of the most genuine human beings the world has ever known. His basketball skill was unrivaled by most, and his warm heart and huge smile brought joy to families worldwide. He always made time for his many fans and inspired millions."

My grandfather took me and a friend of mine to go see them at Freedom Hall back in the late 70s. Amazing talent and amazing people in general.

Kathy Griffin Hospitalized In Coronavirus Isolation With 'Painful' Symptoms

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/kathy-griffin-coronavirus_n_5e7c7fa1c5b6cb9dc19ae204
Comedian Kathy Griffin said Wednesday she was in a hospital coronavirus isolation ward with “unbearably painful” COVID-19 symptoms.

The former “My Life on the D-List” reality show star shared a photo of her wearing a mask in a bed at what she said was “a major hospital ER.” She wrote that she was unable to be tested “because of CDC (Pence task force) restrictions.”

Citing a tweet from President Donald Trump that falsely claimed the U.S. had done more coronavirus testing than any nation, Griffin wrote: “He’s lying.”

U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) plans to vote 'no,' threatens to hold up coronavirus stimulus bill

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2020/03/26/coronavirus-kentucky-u-s-rep-thomas-massie-plans-reject-bill/2914642001/
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Congressman from Kentucky plans to vote "no" on the $2 trillion coronavirus relief package, which the Senate passed 96-0 Wednesday evening.

U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican who represents Kentucky's 4th District, also hinted that he might object to a voice vote in the House of Representatives, which would force all members to return to Washington, D.C. and slowdown movement on the bill.

Massie told 55 KRC radio Thursday morning he plans to reject the measure — which includes one-time $1,200 checks to certain individuals and $367 billion in loans and grants to small businesses — due to concerns over spiking the national debt.

"If it were just about helping people to get more unemployment (benefits) to get through this calamity that, frankly, the governors have wrought on the people, then I could be for it," Massie said.

"But this is $2 trillion," he continued. "Divide $2 trillion by 350 million people — it's almost $6,000 for every man, woman and child. I'm talking about spending. This won't go to the men, women and children. So if you have a family of five, this spending bill represents $30,000 of additional U.S. national debt because there is no plan to pay for it."

This guy is grade 4F dick cheese his balking that it's not going to only American citizens is pure grandstanding.

As a consumer protection attorney who fought big banks, I know to read the fine print—so that’s what I did when the President said he was invoking the Defense Production Act. Turns out the Administration never finalized the rules for ordering emergency medical supplies. (1/2)

Rep. Katie Porter

@RepKatiePorter
The Administration says it's placing orders under the Defense Production Act, but it seems that @HHSGov doesn't have policies in place to execute those orders or coordinate them with agencies like @FEMA. @RepSpanberger, @RepAndyLevin, @RepSherrill, and I are want answers. (2/2)

If fucking up something was a good thing to do, they’d fuck up fucking up

OHIO Gov DeWine (R) says everyone going back to work probably not til after May 1

https://twitter.com/GovMikeDeWine/status/1242886090870136835
We hope everyone is back in business shortly, but we don't think this will peak until May 1. The only way we slow it down is with physical/social distancing.

Dear Gawd! They don't know when to stop!! Dennis Prager opens HIS Piehole now!

Dennis Prager: "That attitude that the only value is saving a life, that attitude leads to appeasement...No one can die? Then it's not a war"

WTMF?!?! This ISN'T a war....it's a pandemic. It has a rather simple mitigation against it: STAY THE F*** HOME! SIT ON YOUR DAMN COUCH AND PEOPLE LIVE!

Grandma and Grandpa don't need to suffer or die for your damned stock portfolio to recover in a month vs a year!

These #FakeChristian #FakeProLife assholes are beyond disgusting! Why can't these vermin get infected instead?!

I bought coconut Oreo thins by accident - BOGO deal at Publix

I’m not the biggest fan of coconut, mind you. However...

I may or may not have finished off the first bag after two days. The investigation is still underway. Forensics has a suspect in mind.

I may have to go deeper in isolation now....

Drive thru testing FINALLY starting in Orlando. BUT...

Drive-thru testing opens Wednesday at Orange County Convention Center for 65 and older, first responders, healthcare workers
https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/drive-thru-testing-opens-wednesday-at-orange-county-convention-center-for-65-and-older-first-responders-healthcare-workers
A news release on Tuesday said testing will be available for individuals who are 65 years or older who have COVID-19 symptoms and first responders and healthcare workers.

Health officials said those 65 and older must have an on-site temperature of 99.6 or higher and respiratory symptoms.

First responders (firefighters, law enforcement/corrections and medical staff with a valid agency ID) do not have to have symptoms to be tested.

The test site is drive-thru only and will be limited to 250 tests per day, according to the release.

Jackson Browne has tested positive for the coronavirus and has a message for anyone still not taking the virus seriously https://rol.st/2Jd7PiX

Jackson Browne was suspicious that something was not right when he started feeling ill in recent weeks. “As soon as I had a small cough and a temperature, I tested [for COVID-19],” he says. The Rock Hall of Fame inductee tells Rolling Stone that he has tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently recuperating at his Los Angeles home. “My symptoms are really pretty mild, so I don’t require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalization or anything like that,” he adds.

The 71-year-old musician isn’t sure where he got it, but he suspected his recent trip to New York for the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit, which also featured Cyndi Lauper, Dave Matthews, Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks, may have been the source. “So many people that have it aren’t going to be tested,” he says. “They don’t have symptoms, but they might have it and might be able to pass it on. That’s what younger readers need to understand: They need to take part in the global response to stop the spread. That means not going anywhere, not getting into contact with anybody, not seeing anybody.”

Browne spoke with Rolling Stone about the pandemic, how he’s handling his time in quarantine, and what advice he has for others who aren’t taking it seriously.

...

There seem to be a lot of younger people that aren’t afraid of getting it.
I think what young people need to know everywhere [is] they may be less likely, but they have to treat it. They can spread this disease by not taking it seriously. They can spread it to somebody by presuming they won’t have any adverse effects themselves, and they can therefore keep partying and going where they want to go. It’s just not true. They have to understand that everybody is part of the response to this.

Does this sound right? Only 50 cases in Orange County FL and hospitals running out of supplies

https://www.wesh.com/article/orange-county-health-officials-hospitals-running-low-on-supplies/31906067
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
Orange County health officials said local hospitals are running low on masks and gloves.

Officials said they are getting small shipments, but if things get worse, they’re going to need more.

Dr. Yolanda Martinez said officials have asked the state for more medical supplies but so far have only received a fraction of what they need.

"We did receive PPE's. We received N95 masks. We received gowns and gloves. A very small amount, if we consider the need. About 9,000 or so,” Martinez said.

I really fear how many cases there actually are here. No way we’re testing everyone that’s infected.
