Young, UNARMED, female teacher stopped school shooter

Student: Female teacher heroically stopped the shooter

A student who witnessed the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Washington on Friday, Oct. 24, said teacher Megan Silberberger stopped the gunman from shooting more people before shooting himself.

...........................

Cervantes thought the woman was a "lunch lady" who worked at the school, but she was later identified as a first-year social studies teacher. Cevantes confirmed to Natasha Chen of KIRO-TV that teacher Megan Silberberger was the woman he saw in action.

“I believe she’s actually the real hero. She’s the one that intercepted him with the gun. He tried either reloading or tried aiming at her. She tried moving his hand away and he tried shooting and shot himself in the neck,” Cervantes said.

He said the gunshots followed a verbal altercation.

“It started off with an argument, but then I looked back and there was just gunshots and just people falling down,” Cervantes recalled. And immediately after the gunshots, the (woman) intervened, he said.

Bystanders at Dallas Airport stop antigay attack by piling on drunk bully

A tall man in a black cowboy hat approaches and asks the angry man what he’s upset about.

“Queers!” the man shouted. “That’s what I’m upset about. This faggot right here.”

After a tense exchange, the angry man kicks the man in the pink shirt, then slaps at him and grabs his hair.

A number of people rush to intervene as the man is tackled and put on the floor.

The man in the cowboy hat can be heard saying loudly, “No way! No way, you motherfucker. You ain’t doin’ that fucking shit, motherfucker.”

Fox News Is Too Negative For Jeb Bush - He can only handle "a few minutes a day"

Report: Fox News Is Too Negative For Jeb Bush

No stranger to taking on his party's most conservative voters, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) is now calling out the bastion of conservative media.

CNN's Peter Hamby reported that during a speech Thursday night at a South Carolina fundraiser, Bush "singled out Fox News" while expressing "annoyance with the polarizing fights and constant negativity of the political news media."

Bush reportedly said that he only watches Fox "for a few minutes a day before switching over to SportsCenter."

..............

And with the Republican National Committee's stringent controls over the party's 2016 primary debates, Bush, a possible presidential candidate, might have made an enemy of one of the few media outlets that is allowed to moderate.

Mika Brzezinski Tears Into U.S. Minimum Wage: 'It Is A Joke!'

During a discussion on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's recent comments that he's "tired of hearing about" the issue of minimum wage, Brzezinski was quick to show that she's not tired at all. The "Morning Joe" co-host said it was "pathetic" how far the U.S. lags behind when it comes to raising the minimum wage.

"It is a joke that people have to work three jobs just to barely get by," she said firmly. "This shouldn't be what this country stands for."

The Official Michael Brown Autopsy Report Doesn't Say What the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Says It Does

The Official Michael Brown Autopsy Report Doesn't Say What the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Says It Does
by ChameoFollowforChameo

The Post-Dispatch says that the autopsy report supports Wilson's version of events. In fact, it supports the earlier eyewitness testimony at least as much as it does Wilson's.

The Post-Dispatch (and later, the NY Times and the Washington Post, which essentially reported on the the St. Louis reporting) claims that a forensic expert said the autopsy shows that Michael Brown was "going for his (Wilson's) gun." Except that's not what the expert said - at least not in anything she provided on the record. She told Lawrence O'Donnell that it was just as likely that Brown was trying to defend himself from being shot.

The Post-Dispatch quotes the expert saying that Michael Brown's was not in surrender posture when he was shot. She actually wrote that she can't say with reasonable certainty that his hands were up when he was shot in the right forearm.

The article claims the expert said the autopsy didn't support witnesses who said Michael Brown was shot while running away or with his hands up. She apparently said nothing of the sort.

The expert quoted has since told Lawrence O'Donnell that she was only asked if the autopsy report was consistent with Darren Wilson's version of events. She was not asked if it fit other scenarios, though there are eyewitness accounts that differ from Wilson's account.

.............

As to how she got dragged into this whole thing, here's the explanation in Dr. Melinek's own words:

A reporter from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch called me earlier this week, saying she had Michael Brown's official autopsy report as prepared by the St. Louis County Medical Examiner, and asking me if I would examine and analyze it from the perspective of a forensic pathologist with no official involvement in the Ferguson, Missouri shooting death

I read the report, and spent half an hour on the phone with the reporter explaining Michael Brown's autopsy report line-by-line, and I told her not to quote me - but that I would send her quotes she could use in an e mail. The next morning, I found snippets of phrases from our conversation taken out of context in her article in the Post-Dispatch. These inaccurate and misleading quotes were picked up and disseminated by other journals, blogs, and websites.

This is the text of my actual email exchange with Post-Dispatch health and medical news reporter Blythe Bernhard:
