THE ROOT: Justice, I Guess.
.................
George Floyd played basketball. George Floyd fathered five children. George Floyd prayed. George Floyd danced. He made people laugh. He also spent more than a third of his twenties in various cages for possessing less than a teaspoon of the illegal substance or for the theft of somewhere between $50 or $500. This was a normal solution for Black people who lived in the government-created poor part of the richest country in the world. To escape, George Floyd moved away from the poor place in the rich country.
When he arrived in Minnesota, he was alive...
Until he met Derek Chauvin...
................
..... On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, a jury decided that Derek Chauvin was a murderer, and everyone cheered. All it took was 6 eyewitnesses, 5 camera angles, four experts, three of Chauvins fellow police officers testifying against him and a prosecutor who was willing to prosecute.

KRUGMAN talking about MTG just flat-out lying.
PAUL KRUGMAN:
Marjorie Taylor Greene 🇺🇸
DC is completely dead tonight. People stayed in and were scared to go out because of fear of riots.
Police are everywhere and have riot gear.
#BLM is the strongest terrorist threat in our county.
We need a name for this kind of thing, which is a new stage in right-wing denial of facts. Maybe "lying eyes," as in "Who you gonna believe?" 1/
It's one thing to, say, reject data and refuse to believe experts on climate change; it's another to believe in conspiracy theories. In both cases, however, you aren't denying the clear experience of millions of people 2/
But to assert that DC was a ghost town last night, when anyone there can tell you it wasn't is a whole additional level of denial. Same for assertions that BLM demonstrators pillaged Manhattan, etc. Who you gonna believe, Tucker Carlson or your lying eyes? 3/
The scary thing is that millions, maybe tens of millions of Americans will choose not to believe their lying eyes. Orwell had nothing on this 4/

This fabricated police story might have become the official account of George Floyds death if concerned citizens had not intervened and recorded the police.

President Biden called George Floyd's brother yesterday
"He knows how it is to lose a family member ... He was just letting us know that he was praying for us and hoping that everything would come out to be OK," Philonise Floyd said.

"On Bullshit"
When an honest man speaks, he says only what he believes to be true; and for the liar, it is correspondingly indispensable that he considers his statements to be false. For the bullshitter, however, all these bets are off: he is neither on the side of the true nor on the side of the false. His eye is not on the facts at all, as the eyes of the honest man and of the liar are, except insofar as they may be pertinent to his interest in getting away with what he says. He does not care whether the things he says describe reality correctly. He just picks them out, or makes them up, to suit his purpose. Harry G. Jailed Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, whos been on a hunger strike for more than two weeks to demand proper medical care, has been transferred to a prison hospital, CBS News reports.
The move came after a warning over the weekend from the United States that Moscow would face consequences if the prominent Kremlin critic were to die in custody.
