My God am I depressed.

I usually go to my Mom's for a while at thanksgiving and she gives me a plate from her diner at her clubhouse. I could go to the clubhouse with her but I really don't like it much. They are all much older than me and while very nice to me it is just kind of boring.

So this is the year that we lost our business in NJ and my Mom is still stuck up there and has to wait until the 2 buildings are demolished until she and my step dad can come down to Florida. I went earlier to a clubhouse that I go to for people with mental illness and that was nice but it ended at 1pm. I've been sitting here since. I've tried to practice drawing, (they are nice enough to give us a free water color class which included some drawing which I suck at). But that took some time and determination.

I just haven't felt this low in a long time. It is so weird when things change. At first I was so worried about the money and the loss but now I just want my Mom. And I'm 54! I don't have any kids of my own. I feel like a little kid all by myself.

I think I may go down the street to some neighbors house and visit a little, just to get out of this house that seems to be swallowing me up.

Thanks for letting me rant here. I know people care.

Love to you all,

Maraya

To the people who want to boycott Microsoft and let the CEO know here is his direct email

ceooff@microsoft.com

I put it in the thread but I looked and it was way down. His secretary gave it to me. Please flood his email with your decision to boycott if you are going to do so.

And this is Bill Gates: billg@microsoft.com

See this post - Microsoft is threatening the Obama administration that is will send workers overseas if the tax hikes go through.

respond to.

Has anyone watched this movie "Thrive" and what did you think about it?

http://www.thrivemovement.com/

My cousin wants me to watch it. She insists that all politicians are controlled by the Federal reserve and by the big oil companies and it doesn't matter who you vote for. I wanted to know if anyone watched it first and if anyone knows of the movie makers or anything about them.

If this information came out before the election we would have one less GOP congress person

This is a petition and I hope you will sign it. I can't believe what this man is doing and I can't believe this is the first time I am hearing about it.

Target: Rep. Steve King
Sponsored by: Humane Society Legislative Fund

The influence of Iowa Rep. Steve King's extreme anti-animal views extends well beyond the borders of his home state. King led the fight to try to block legislation that would crack down on the barbaric practices of dogfighting and cockfighting nationwide, and has consistently voted against even the most basic protections for animals, such as including pets in disaster planning. He recently introduced an amendment to the Farm Bill seeking to nullify state and local laws dealing with animal welfare and food safety around the country!

Rep. King is one of the most senior Republican members of the powerful House Agriculture Committee. So many pieces of federal animal protection legislation go to this committee and can be held up by King and other enemies of animal protection. Given his powerful committee post, King's anti-animal positions affect animal welfare nationwide.

Florida recount begins in Allen West district

Source: MSNBC

The congressional race between Tea Party Rep. Allen West and Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy is getting uglier, with the St. Lucie county board kicking off a recount of all the early votes in the contest Saturday.

Murphy beat West on Election Day by a little more than 2,000 votes, placing his win beyond the .5% margin of victory trigger for an automatic recount

West, however, claimed there were voter irregularities and demanded a partial recount of early-voting ballots. When the recount of the last three-days of early voting lowered Murphy’s total by 667 votes and increased West’s results by 132, the incumbent’s lawyers demanded a full recount of all eight days of early voting, the Palm Beach Post reported.

The county canvassing board admitted that 306 votes—mostly filled with write-in candidates—had been uncounted, and that other votes had been ignored.

Does anyone know what programs I should turn on for start up on msconfig? I disabled

them all and then I couldn't get on the internet so I enabled them all and now everything is loading so slow and when I start to type it takes so long for the first letter to come out, if you know what that means.

I want to disable things but I don't know which ones. Or is there a good site with this kind of information?

Thanks. You guys always are so helpful. (and guys is generic for people for us raised in the northeast)

Remember when "Obamacare" was a slur by the right wing. Check out this FB post.

ADVICE: Don't call it "Obama care" anymore. Start calling it what it is...."National Health Care"...anyway, that's the term my dad used back in 1980... Take that little weasel's name out of it.

This is in the Dodd-Frank act that is not being implimented. Please sign to get this going

http://act.aflcio.org/c/18/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=4198

Apparently it is written in the law. Why isn't it being followed??? Here is a copy of the letter that is being sent to the securities and exchange commission

rule-comments@sec.gov - To send more emails.

And if you go to the link you can sign the petition. But this is the first time I am hearing of this. Admittedly I don't follow all the bills passed and what is in them but this is big. If the average person knew how much the CEO'S were skimming off of the top of the till they would be up in arms. I think they just don't know.

"I urge you to promptly issue a rule requiring public companies to disclose their ratio of CEO-to-worker compensation, as required by Section 953(b) of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. This pay ratio disclosure requirement will help boards of directors and investors evaluate the overall level of CEO compensation relative to other company employees.

The ratio of CEO-to-worker pay is material information for investors for many reasons. Academic studies show that large pay disparities within a company can hurt employee teamwork, productivity, loyalty and motivation. The impact of high levels of CEO pay on employee morale is particularly important in today’s weak economy, when workers are being asked to do more for less."

Denny's is the latest to take Obamacare out on its employees. Don't go there!

I suggest that all these eateries that we are boycotting, if their business does go down and if you feel so inclined to drop in one occasionally and give a wait staff member a tip. But wait to see if their businesses decrease first. That's my 2 cents.

John Metz, Denny's Franchisee And Hurricane Grill & Wings Owner, Imposes Surcharge For Obamacare

John Metz said he will add a 5 percent surcharge to customers' bills to offset what he said are the increased costs of Obamacare, along with reducing his employees' hours.

While some business owners threaten to cut workers' hours to avoid paying for their health care, a West Palm Beach, Fla., restaurant owner is going even further. John Metz said he will add a 5 percent surcharge to customers' bills to offset what he said are the increased costs of Obamacare, along with reducing his employees' hours

"If I leave the prices the same, but say on the menu that there is a 5 percent surcharge for Obamacare, customers have two choices. They can either pay it and tip 15 or 20 percent, or if they really feel so inclined, they can reduce the amount of tip they give to the server, who is the primary beneficiary of Obamacare," Metz told The Huffington Post. "Although it may sound terrible that I'm doing this, it's the only alternative. I've got to pass the cost on to the customer."

ME - He sounds like a real "hate the 47% club member" to me. He failed to mention that besides paying the extra cost and tipping the wait staff off of that money or taking the money from the wait staff who are the "primary beneficiary of Obamacare" there is another choice. Read the menu, give your wait staff a tip and go somewhere else.
