Is anyone advancing a theory as to why the bombs didn't go off?

Was the Magabomber inept or was it just deliberate scare tactic?

Am I too paranoid?

This happened a few moments after I had hung up from a phone call with a long time friend and fellow DU'er. For a brief second my phone screen had her name and number, then it posted this Russian number: +7 122209307. Curious as to why I was being called from Russia, I answered it and got spam from Medic Alert, if I understood the robot right. Anyone else having this anomalous problem? Does a Russian company own Medic Alert?
I took a screen shot of my phone if anyone wants proof this happened.
Are we being followed and intimidated?

Reynolds won't deny Republicans plan to Gut IPERS benefits

Heads Up! According to State Treasurer Fitzgerald, there is a Republican bill sitting in the Iowa House that would "Hybridize" the IPERS pension plan. In effect, new employees would be offered 401K plans instead of current IPERS benefits. This would under fund current IPERS benefits and run the fund out of monies within 15 years. Reynolds has not taken a stand against this bill.

How would you dispose of $3.5 million in poker chips?

According to the New York Times article about Fred and Donnie's criminal tax evasion scheme, Fred bought $3.5 million worth of poker chips from Donald's Casino, then never cashed them in. Wouldn't that be a heck of a lot of poker chips to drop in a dumpster or in the bay? Or perhaps there are there some poker chips worth a million dollars each?

From the Times:
"That was what happened at Trump’s Castle casino, where an $18.4 million bond payment was due in December 1990. Fred Trump dispatched a trusted bookkeeper to Atlantic City with checks to buy $3.5 million in casino chips without placing a bet. With this ruse — an illegal loan under New Jersey gaming laws, resulting in a $65,000 civil penalty — Donald Trump narrowly avoided defaulting on his bonds."
