Sadly, no it won't end his presidency....

We Dems already knew most of the scandals, the mushy middle is increasingly convinced, but the GOP base ? Nope. Trump would have to run around Washington DC stark naked howling at the moon in front of Fox News cameras, and even THEN....some of his base would say "oh poor Donald is having a bad day". Sigh.

Maybe if the Republicans get decimated in the mid-terms 1932-style...then they might consider getting rid of him.

The patient, who has not been named, was admitted to hospital after suffering from Hirschsprung’s disease.

His condition means the patient lacks the nerves required to poo properly, which can cause a build up in the intestines.

Doctors at the 10th People’s Hospital of Shanghai in eastern China reported that the man began to experience a bulge in his stomach at a young age.

And by the time he was admitted the patient looked like he was heavily pregnant.

Twitter says world leaders like Trump have special status

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-twitter-trump/twitter-says-world-leaders-like-trump-have-special-status-idUSKBN1EU23K

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Twitter Inc on Friday reiterated its stance that accounts belonging to world leaders have special status on the social media network, pushing back against users who have called on the company to banish U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate,” Twitter said in a post on a corporate blog.

Twitter had already said in September that “newsworthiness” and whether a tweet is “of public interest” are among the factors it considers before removing an account or a tweet.

The debate over Trump’s tweeting, though, raged anew after Trump said from his @realDonaldTrump account on Tuesday that he had a “much bigger” and “more powerful” nuclear button than North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

NYPD: New York City's 2017 crime rate was lowest since 1951

http://abc7ny.com/nypd-new-york-citys-2017-crime-rate-was-lowest-since-1951/2868270/

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- New York City ended 2017 with the lowest levels of crime since 1951, "when the Dodgers played in Brooklyn," Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday.

Officials say there were 290 murders in New York City in 2017, 45 fewer than the year prior and a far cry from the 2,245 murders the city endured in 1990. The drop in murders results in the lowest per-capita murder rate in nearly 70 years.

Several other so-called index crimes -- shootings, robberies, burglaries and grand larcenies auto -- also dropped.

"Crime in New York City has reached a new low," Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill said. "The murder rate hasn't been lower since the Korean War. As we celebrate this New York miracle, we continue deepening relationships with the public, emphasizing the shared responsibility we have to our safety. I am confident we can do more. And we will."

Democrats elected a Harvard-educated constitutional law professor. Republicans elected a barely-literate reality TV star who spends his time on twitter trying to convince people he's "like, really smart" and a "stable genius" and calling himself a genius

Chrome is turning into the new Internet Explorer 6

(yes that is the official title)

https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/4/16805216/google-chrome-only-sites-internet-explorer-6-web-standards

Chrome is now the most popular browser across all devices, thanks to Android’s popularity and the rise of Chrome on Windows PCs and Mac computers. As Google continues to dominate our access to the web, information through its search engine, and services like Gmail or YouTube, Chrome is a powerful entry point in the company’s vast toolbox. While Google championed web standards that worked across many different browsers back in the early days of Chrome, more recently its own services often ignore standards and force people to use Chrome.

Chrome, in other words, is being used in the same way that Internet Explorer 6 was back in the day — with web developers primarily optimizing for Chrome and tweaking for rivals later. To understand how we even got to this stage, here’s a little (a lot) of browser history. If you want to know why saying "Chrome is the new Internet Explorer 6" is so damning, you have to know why IE6 was a damnable problem in the early ‘00s.

Microsoft’s PC dominance with Windows peaked 16 years ago. Alongside Intel, Microsoft spent at least $1 billion promoting the release of Windows XP, with a TV commercial featuring Madonna’s Ray of Light. It was an era before the iPod, Gmail, or YouTube, and Microsoft didn’t even have competition from Google at the time. Microsoft acted like a company that could do what it wanted, and it pretty much did. After crushing its Netscape competition, the era of Internet Explorer 6 was born.

Internet Explorer 6 debuted with Windows XP, and was tied closely to many of its features. As XP grew in popularity, so did the web. IE6 arrived just as the “dot com” bubble was collapsing, and internet usage in the US was growing rapidly. For many, Internet Explorer was the primary way of accessing the internet, and the logo became synonymous with the internet. At its peak, Internet Explorer 6 dominated 90 percent of the entire browser market.

Sleeping Audience Member Awakes With a Scream as Orchestra Plays a Louder Part of the Movement

https://laughingsquid.com/orchestra-wakes-up-sleeping-audience-member/

During a performance of the Stravinsky ballet piece “The Firebird” by the North State Symphony at the Cascade Theatre in Redding, California, an audience member who had evidently been lulled to sleep by the hushed parts awoke with an audible yelp when the symphony had moved on to a more dramatic and louder movement of the piece. Despite the unexpected noise, music director Scott Seaton didn’t miss a beat and neither did the musicians.
