Video Of Parking Dispute In Downtown Denver Gets Nearly 2 Million Views

DENVER (CBS4) – More than a million people have tuned in to video of a dispute over a parking space in Downtown Denver.

In the video, a woman wearing pink spandex hangs on to a reserving SUV and screams while trying to hold her ground as a male friend tries to park nose first.

The incident happened on the weekend of Sept 4 at 15th and Larimer streets.

So, who’s in the wrong? Denver Public Works says the woman standing in the spot has no right to block anyone from parking there. She’s also wrong a second time when her friend tries parking nose-first. The only way a driver can legally hold a spot in Denver is with a paid permit.

1- Go to that link.

2- Make sure you have an Outlook.com email account to use the forum. You can discard it later if you wish. The Outlook.com link is the signup link, and is safe to click.

3- Click the Participate link at the top of the page

4- Click Ask a Question

5- Make sure your subject line spells out your problem very briefly and accurately

6- Make sure in the body of your forum post, that you list everything you have tried to do to solve the problem.

7- Make sure you list the make of your computer (Dell, Alienware, custom built, etc)

8- You will be asked several questions. This is normal and part of the process. Many times forum posters know as much as the staff engineers. The super difficult problems go to the engineers.

9- Expect a response within 24 to 48 hours, sooner if you get lucky. Again, YOUR SUBJECT LINE IS CRITICAL. Do not just say I FREAKING HATE WINDOWS 10 (yes, for real, some people do this)... be calm, be brief, be accurate. Everyone knows you're frustrated and maybe angry.

10- Good luck. Microsoft is still working out the bugs and working with companies to get the drivers optimized.

NOTE TO JURIES: THIS THREAD IS NOT BEING STARTED TO BASH DU OR ANYONE HERE.

Ok, now that I got the obligatory ass-covering out of the way, I think non-PoC need to hear vignettes of subtle racism that PoC endure everyday. I've read many examples, so I'm very aware of those I know about. I'm always fascinated to hear more, but if no one wants to share, that's totally cool. I know it's a difficult subject.

Somehow non-PoC need to understand that racism exists on a continuum. It's not just the KKK and the neo-Nazis and the n-word and blatant discrimination.

Anyway... floor is open. Thank you sincerely for your time and effort in this thread. I will sit back and learn!

I think I already know the answer, but here goes.

The support groups we have here on DU are great, a nice resource for people between meetings and for people, for whatever reason, that cannot or will not go to a real life meeting. As you know, in real life AA/NA/OA/name_your_support_group_acronym, confidentiality is a gigantic thing.

Is there any possible technical way that the support groups can be PASSWORD-PROTECTED ? Obviously, if the same password was given out to everyone who walked in, pretty soon the sociopaths on the net would be in there. So, the password would have to be unique to each person and easily revocable. In addition, I think you admins would need to mull over the password request for a while to see if the person really merited it (i.e, was not a troll and was not a potential trouble-maker).

On a totally OT tangent, it would not surprise me in the least if you've been DDOS'ed at least once by the numbskulls on the other side of the aisle.

Anyway.... idle minds are the devil's workshop
