Happy Mt St Helens eruption day

You were such a pretty softly rounded mountain, St Helens. It was quite a time.

36 yrs ago we didn't know if our sibling who was guarding the gates going up to the mt was alive or not. They ended up having the day off and rushing to bring in the laundry from the line before the ash hit.

Oh, the ash!

Trees, mud, water washed down. Boulder filled mudflows.

Harry Truman, coot or codger? Stubborn and decided how he wanted to die

Where do you feel most vulnerable to harassment or assault?

Have you ever used a public restroom of the gender you don't identify with?

I have when the line to the women's is too long and there is none to the men's, or there's only 1 for either and the women's is in use forever.

I figure most duers are meh about it, but was curious.

Has anyone heard from mbperrin?

Seeking loud, pulsating, mid-tone alarm clock

I'm not ready for a shake one because cats are constantly on and off the bed and I wouldn't notice it, and the light ones don't do much for me either.

I find mixed review of different ones online so was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. Thank you.

An honest question about wage discrimination

I've lived through some of these, heard others in recent yrs ( including from a young adult male friend which took me aback).

Which of these do you agree with, if any?

Man killed by falling tree as high winds slam Seattle area, toddler survives

We had big winds and rain a couple days ago here in the Pacific NorthWet, and another round is happening right now.

Eta, story has been updated, was a man and the choir in the back seat survived. My latest observation is wind of 36, gust of 58, powers still on.

A woman died in Seward Park Sunday afternoon when high winds sent a tree crashing down on a car, the Seattle Fire Department reported. The death was reported just after 2 p.m. and additional details weren’t immediately available.

Trees are weakened from recent rainstorms and are vulnerable to fall during Sunday’s big windstorms, officials warned.

The Highway 520 bridge was closed in both directions Sunday afternoon due to high winds and water on the road.

Big power outages hit West Seattle, Beacon Hill, Snohomish County and Shoreline Sunday afternoon, and officials warn that outages are likely to increase as the windstorm rages.....

Nancy Reagan's funeral led me to this post, but it applies universally in real life and internet land and politics as well as about funerals.

There is a huge difference between the 2 concepts.
