Mira's JournalCalling postatomic to please take over your contest.
I checked, and you are a star member. I started the contest submissions for you in order to get things going since you said you had to be away.
I hope you are back, and can step up to continue submissions and then run the preliminaries.
We have a varied and interesting number of photos already.
As an immigrant, not growing up speaking English I've wondered what a "shit eating grin" really is
I no longer have any questions.Comments for:*****November’s contest “Almost Anything” *****

SUBMISSIONS HERE*****The theme for November’s contest is “Almost Anything” *****
This contest is started for post atomic who has won the October contest but had to leave in early November until the 12th of November. We picked the theme from his suggestions made before he left, and as I interpret
Almost Anything is that it is a photograph with no theme, and I for one will pick one I took that either spoke to me after I saw it, or one where I tried to capture a scene that was intriguing.
I will be able to enter a photograph since I am not the official host.
Im excited about it because it may bring to us a great variety of images.
Now, remember, dont post your comments in this thread, post them here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/103655628
and here are the basic rules for the submissions:
The photo you submit must have been taken by you.
Please use a light touch in editing submissions.
Submissions will run until November 14th or until 30 entries have been submitted, and until post atomic returns and takes over to post the preliminaries.
Have fun!

Putin Appears with Trump in Flurry of Swing-State Rallies -predicts Borowitz
TAMPA (The Borowitz Report)Infused with a sense of urgency as Election Day nears, the Trump campaign has enlisted President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, to appear with the Republican nominee in a dizzying array of swing-state rallies over the weekend.
Putin will be the most visible Trump surrogate in the final weekend of the campaign, as he tries to fire up voters in Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, and Nevada.
The Russian President seemed to relish the warm response he got at his first Trump rally, in Tampa, where he led the crowd in a raucous chant of Lock her up.
Trump praised Putins talent for politics by noting that he had won the Russian election in 2012 by a landslide. He got sixty-four per cent of the vote, and no one else even came close, Trump said. Hes terrific.
Putin, whose English is rudimentary at best, kept his remarks brief at the Tampa rally, but echoed Melania Trumps recent call for an end to bullying.
A Republican strategist, Harland Dorrinson, called the Trump campaigns use of Putin in crucial battleground states very, very smart.
At this point, you really couldnt ask for a more effective surrogate, he said. Youd much rather see Trump up there with Putin than with, say, Chris Christie.
While some in the media criticized the Trump campaign for allowing Putin to influence the outcome of a U.S. election, the Republican nominees campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, pushed back in an appearance on CNN.
This is just another case of media bias against Donald Trump, she said. Jay Z and Beyoncé, who have no experience in government at all, are allowed to campaign for Hillary Clinton, but Vladimir Putin, who actually runs an entire country, cant appear with Donald Trump? Come on.

F.B.I.’s Email Disclosure Broke a Pattern Followed Even This Summer
Source: NYTimes
WASHINGTON The F.B.I. and Justice Department faced a hard decision in two investigations this past summer that had the potential to rock the presidential election. The first case involved Donald J. Trumps campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and secretive business dealings in Ukraine. The second focused on Hillary Clintons relationships with donors to her family foundation.
At the urging of the Justice Department, the F.B.I. agreed not to issue subpoenas or take other steps that would make the cases public so close to the election, according to federal law enforcement officials.
Against this backdrop, the decision of the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to send a letter to Congress last week about a renewed inquiry concerning Mrs. Clintons emails is not just a departure from longstanding policy; it has plunged the F.B.I. and the Justice Department directly into the election, precisely what Justice officials were trying to avoid.
