We talk about our crumbling infrastructure and precarious grid - we have another infrastructure and grid that holds this country together - that of the Black and Brown People that serve this country in all kinds of jobs.
If for one day all Black and Brown Americans stayed home instead of going to their jobs - essentially calling it a Blackout or Brownout - it would sure illustrate to the Politicians in DC just how important Black and Brown Lives matter.
I Heard Some Talking Head Say College Football Coaches Are Bullying Their Black Athletes....
telling them that they would lose their scholarships if they participated in any of these kneeling protests. I don't know if that is really true - but if it is - and Black athletes are kicked off college teams and lose scholarships - it would have a bigger effect on College Football itself. Black athletes make up a considerable percentage of players on college teams.
Colleges need football. It is a revenue generator for colleges. If teams were decimated because they kicked off Black athletes - college football would suffer and that would in turn effect the whole college in general.
Football - in itself - has major problems with the concussion issue. Football doesn't need another issue to further its - in my opinion - ultimate demise. If I was a parent of a boy that wanted to play sports - I would point him away from football - as it is hazardous to his long range health. If boys don't participate in football at the peewee level, and high school level - college teams will ultimately suffer - and further down the line - so will the NFL.
The NFL and Colleges don't need Trump meddling into their arena - as that only further complicates things for them.
Trump is an idiot for picking a fight with football or at least the Black athletes of football. This will not turn out good for Trump.

He needs to be replaced by somebody who can out crazy him.

Yes - The Repugs Campaigned On Repealing & Replacing ACA.....
and Grassley says they have the responsibility of making good on their campaign promise. However, the key word is responsible.
Just because they promised something in their campaign doesn't mean that they should willy nilly pass anything just to make good on their promise - even if it is bad - just to fulfill their promise.
They need to think and act responsibly - and they are not. They are acting in desperation - and the American People know this.
If the Repugs pass this new attempt at repealing and replacing ACA - they will pay for it in 2018 and 2020.
The American People have their number and the Repugs number will be up in 2018 and 2020.
We now have to rely on the few Repugs that are approaching this vote responsibly.
Call them today. Murkowski, Collins, McCain, Paul and a few of the others mentioned in other posts here on DU that are leaning 'no'.
It's now a matter of integrity for Murkowski, Collins and McCain. Will they be bought off or approach this vote with integrity and vote as they did a few months ago - NO!!!!

before their upcoming vote. We should be out in numbers this weekend to stop them in their tracks. Any protests scheduled anywhere in the country?

Seems like all the traditional stops on the islands cruise ships make have been decimated. What are the cruise lines doing? What about the people that have booked cruises?
