About Me

I've been a member of DU for over 14 years, but now it is time for me to check out. The glee people on this site took over bashing Gov Northam is too much. EW Jackson, VA's version of a RW troll is being respected and his options considered while the Gov who expanded medicare to 800,000 citizens of my state (including an adult son) is bashed over a 35-year old indiscretion. I see DU as being infected by RW trolls and ratfuckers while the admins are largely absent. See 2016 if you don't believe me. While Northam was being bashed, threads appeared bashing Harris (she took a hard stance against Franken) and Booker (he's corporate) and promoted people who will never be elected in America such as Gabbard and Sanders. Their indiscretions are ignored. For what reason? Their unelectability? The members here that aren't RW trolls or ratfuckers are attempting to achieve some type of purity that will never happen due to mankind's flawed nature. People ar human and prone to mistakes. The rhetorical tools that attack people such as HRC, Franken and Northam will be turned on people like Kamala Harris and Justin Fairfax. It is only a matter of time. I refuse to help the RW and the PURE destroy people and our party. DU was a noble idea, but is a tool on the internet being used to ruin the Democratic Party, suppress the vote, and destroy decent candidates. I won't take part in this crap any longer. To my couple of friends here, so long, it was nice chatting with you. You know how to reach me if you want.

School Time Rock - The Electoral College

From Tom the Dancing Bug

The real reason we lost. (No punches pulled!)

We lost because we didn't do all the things I claimed were important or believed. Our candidates should have focused on the areas and issues I thought were critical. Also people did things that I said they shouldn't have. Those other people who didn't win the primary or ran as 3rd party candidates should have done things differently too. This comprehensive evidence shows that my opinions were correct all along and I scold everyone who disagrees.

There! I have now summed up the previous 2 weeks and the next 2 months of DU's 2016 Postmortem.

Indy... the Nazis are back again

From Kris Straub

Not sure where it came from, but I laughed.

If you haven't voted yet: What are you waiting for? Get off your ass and go vote.

We need your vote, even in Blue states.

Vote Report: Northern VA

Arrived 6:45, approx 50 people in line, line moved very quickly. Entire process took 10 minutes. My precinct had 3 optical scanners that our written vote is fed into. I was voter 209 (which means approximately 600 people voted before me.)

The crowd was in a good mood and was made up of about 70% women and minorities. Only 2 obvious Trump supporters (a man and wife wearing camo, clutching the Republican sample ballot, and scowling at everyone). The Democrats usually win 55-65% in my area.

There were 2 official poll watchers (one from each party, sitting quieting behind the check in station).

Outside the girl scouts sold baked goods. There were 3 tables, one staffed with Democrats giving out sample ballots. The second was a Trump table with the Republican sample ballot and no volunteers. The 3rd table was "Republicans for Clinton" It was also un-staffed with copies of the Democratic sample ballot.

My commute took me past 1 other Fairfax County voting area and 2 Fairfax City voting areas. Lots of signs, cars, and people at all stations.

Overall, I observed no problems.

GOTV, DU.

Driving to work today, I passed an intersection outside of GMU w/ 4 Trump supporters* waving signs

asking supporters to honk. Sitting thru 2 cycles of the red light of the busy intersection**, there were zero honks.

* All elderly white women wearing red coats. 3 seemed angry and 1 seemed like she was undergoing rapture.
