This year is the first time I've had a 2nd straight Valentine's

In the same relationship. Love has eluded me for a long time but I'm happily engaged and looking forward to a summer wedding! I've had many lonely Valentine's Days but I think that will keep me from taking these for granted.

Now, for the important part: who doesn't have a heart and would like one?

There is a new factor in the Warnock-Walker race.

Vince Dooley passed away yesterday. He was Herschel's coach and probably the most important figure in Georgia athletics history, and recorded a campaign commercial for Walker this fall.

I was a 13 year old in 1980 when the Dawgs won a national championship. I absolutely worshipped the ground that Walker and Dooley walked on. I lost all respect for Herschel over the years as I heard of his domestic abuse, but I still respected Dooley right up to the point where he stumped for Trump in 2016. He tarnished his reputation with me at that point - it was like a knife to the heart. I haven't felt the same about him since. But anyone who is Republican or independent in Georgia who's been a UGA fan? They will go to the polls and vote for Walker as a tribute to Dooley.

I hope this isn't the case, but I think this happening so close to the election will throw it to Walker.

Help! Cat issue

My girlfriend and I are moving in together, but she has a cat and I am severely allergic (Class 5 allergy, so trying to medicate with antihistamines isn’t going to work). Her daughter was going to adopt him but could not manage. We have tried to find relatives or friends who could take him but have been unsuccessful. She very much loves her cat and we are horrified at the idea of taking him to a kill shelter, and the non-kill shelters in our area have no room to spare. I would be happy to pay any costs associated with getting him to his new home. He is good with children and other cats, but is very vocal and would need to be trained to not be as vocal. He is 6 and has all of his shots and has been spayed. He has been an indoor/outdoor cat. I love my girlfriend very much, and I really want her to know that her cat is in a good, loving home.

Can anyone help or suggest anything?

Time to spread a little DU love!

Who needs a heart? I've got 17 left and I'd like to give them to people who don't have one or just have 1 or 2. I'll check back in in a little while.

Hopefully you haven't already heard this.

Of course you know Faux News is going on and on about their fake Christmas tree getting torched and acting like it’s terrorist activity.

I said two things about it: 1) if it’d been a cross, Faux would have called it “heritage not hate”; and 2) only a good guy with a lighter can stop a bad guy with a lighter.

But I saw some genius on Facebook call it “Pine/11.” I just about laughed myself into a nosebleed.

As a diabetic, I'm very tired of seeing diabetics compared to anti-vaxxers.

My disease is not communicable.

My disease does not represent a threat to anyone but me.

There is no vaccine for diabetes. You can damn sure bet I would have taken one.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, and has nothing to do with anyone's lifestyle.

Type 2 diabetes can occur in people with healthy lifestyles.

When you compare me to an anti-vaxxer and say that if they're not treated, I shouldn't be treated, you are insulting and degrading me, and everyone on this board who has diabetes. We don't deserve this.

Please don't hold alcoholics up as an example, either. There are people who are predisposed to alcoholism who have no idea they are until they take that first drink, and then it's too late. If you've ever had a drink, and you're not an alcoholic, the only thing separating you from them is luck. They don't deserve to be compared to anti-vaxxers, either.

Do you think that anti-vaxxers deserve medical treatment, or any other benefit of society? Just say that you are just fine with a complete lack of consequences for their carelessness, irresponsibility, and complete unconcern for others. Don't drag any other groups LIKE MINE into it.

Woo hoo! Just got my second Pfizer shot!

10-14 days to immunity!

Just got my first COVID vaccine!

First shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Totally painless.
