The man is one of the best in his field and is quickly becoming a pop cultural touchstone.

Now The Phenomenauts, an Oakland, California based new wave punk rock band, have immortalized the great Neil deGrasse Tyson in song with their song “I’m With Neil!”

Muppets end its partnership with Chick-fil-A over anti-gay sentiments

The Jim Henson Company, the entertainment organization that traces its origins to the founding of The Muppets in 1958 by puppeteer Jim Henson, has ended its affiliation with Chick-fil-A over the restaurant chain’s anti-gay sentiments.

In an announcement posted on their Facebook page Friday, the company said it would donate its latest residual check to GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation:

“The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD.”

The Muppets’ partnership with Chick-fil-A included selling its Creature Shop toys for the restaurant chain’s kids meals.

Man who died after standoff with NM cops had assault rifle, 'homemade bombs'

A fugitive who spent five days on the run in New Mexico before dying in a weekend shootout with police left behind a vehicle containing explosives and questions about his possible links to anti-government groups, according to local authorities and published reports.

Rex Michael Sherwood, 48, was found dead Sunday in a gas station in Dulce, N.M., on the Jicarilla Apache reservation, after a gunfight with police.

It was Sherwood’s second violent confrontation with local law enforcement in a week, said Jake Arnold, a spokesman for the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office. On July 10, he exchanged gunfire with tribal police who pulled him over for failing to use his turn signal. After leading the officers on a 10-mile chase, he abandoned his Ford delivery truck and fled into the woods, Arnold said.

Arnold, the sheriff’s department spokesman, confirmed that explosives were found in the vehicle and said that Sherwood was wearing a T-shirt bearing the name of a right-wing militia group when he died.

Fred Willard Loses PBS Job After Arrest (for masturbating in adult theater)

After the actor and comedian Fred Willard was arrested in Hollywood on a charge of lewd conduct, the fallout was swift. PBS said Thursday that Mr. Willard had lost his job as the wisecracking narrator of its new show “Market Warriors.”

Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department said Mr. Willard was arrested about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday after he was seen “engaging in a lewd act” by vice officers on routine inspection in the 5400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, the location of the Tiki Theater. He was later booked and released.

On Monday, PBS introduced the first of 20 episodes of its “Antiques Roadshow” spinoff “Market Warriors,” which pits professional antiques pickers in a competition to spot the best bargain.

Jeanne Hopkins, a spokeswoman for WGBH, the Boston public broadcaster that produces the show, said via e-mail, “Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the ‘Market Warriors’ series.”

LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) -- A Massachusetts police officer was put on paid leave Wednesday after an internal investigation found that he directed a racial slur at Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford.

Officer John Perrault was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing scheduled for next week at which he could face more severe punishment, and could even be fired, Leominster (LEH'-min-stuhr) Mayor Dean Mazzarella and Police Chief Robert Healey said.

Perreault engaged in conduct unbecoming an officer, according to the chief and mayor.

Witnesses said a heckling fan called Crawford, who is black, a "monday" before a game between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Portland Sea Dogs. Crawford said he interpreted the word as a racial slur.

Did you know that the Republicans changed the stars in their official elephant logo to three stars downward in the year 2000, the very year in which Skull & Bones George Bush was "elected" President? This Republican logo is the traditional elephant logo as this book front page cover demonstrates. The book is entitled, "The Pictorial History of the Republican Party", by Beryl Frank, published in 1980. Satanists use a pentagram with two points up, often inscribed in a double circle to emphasize the exclusion of God, and sometimes with the head of a goat inside the pentagram. Why would a nation based on Christian principles install as its leader someone who was a member of a secretive satanic cult called Skull and Bones? After 8 years of leading our country deeper into the squalid sewer of torture and political corruption, it seems a little late to be asking such questions. But for the record, my understanding is that the stars were inverted and turned upside down when Bush was appointed president.

In the bible 3 is represented as the trinity, putting the stars upside down represnts the anti christ. In addition this was done for Bush's campaign. Now please note that Prescott Bush, Grand daddy Bush, used to sell war material to the Nazi's in WWII along with Joe Kennedy.

Now in addition we've seen a war started that has been dipicted as " a task from god", hhmm a holy war ? Really ?
