U.S. Government Continues the Investigation into GOA[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese] Misconduct

U.S. Government Continues the Investigation into GOA Misconduct

The GOA did not take out a $5.5 million dollar loan just because someone embezzled $66,000 over the course of six years. Officials are looking into someone else.

It is symbolic that on day the faithful are supposed to celebrate the arrival of our new Archbishop, we instead get sucker punched in the gut with the truth that has been suppressed by the GOA officials over the past two years. Yesterday, the faithful received confirmation to the rumors that were circulating for years, that thousands of dollars were misspent. It has taken two years to get answers and the faithful are slowly receiving them from official U.S. Government sources.

The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that the faithful were taken advantage of by employees in the GOA. Former Finance Director, George Papadakos, pleaded guilty yesterday to charging $66,500 to the GOA's corporate credit card for personal expenses without any official authorization. According to the U.S. Government, "these personal expenditures included charges for home improvements, clothing, a gym membership, iTunes, and medical bills."

However, there is more to the story. ...

Independent(UK): Trump-Mueller report - live: President rages over 'people who take notes'

Trump-Mueller report - live: President rages over 'people who take notes' as impeachment resolution gathers pace after obstruction revelations

Document paints damning picture of a White House torn apart by lies and mistrust

Donald Trump has lashed out at a number of perceived enemies after the publication of the long-awaited Mueller report, which painted a damning portrait of the president's conduct since taking office.

Mr Trump attacked overnight the media, a federal investigator and former FBI official, all while claiming there "wasn't any evidence" he committed a crime.

The 450-page document, released in redacted form on Thursday, in fact outlined numerous instances in which Mr Trump tried to obstruct the investigation; potential crimes Mr Mueller declined to reach conclusions on.

[Mis]Statement from Vice President Mike Pence

Statement from Vice President Mike Pence
Issued on: April 18, 2019

Today’s release of the Special Counsel’s report confirms what the President and I have said since day one: there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and there was no obstruction of justice.

After two years of investigation, conducted with the full cooperation of this Administration, that involved hundreds of witness interviews and millions of pages of documents, the American people can see for themselves: no collusion, no obstruction.

Now that the Special Counsel investigation is completed, the American people have a right to know whether the initial investigation was in keeping with long-standing Justice Department standards — or even lawful at all. We must never allow our justice system to be exploited in pursuit of a political agenda.

While many Democrats will cling to discredited allegations, the American people can be confident President Trump and I will continue to focus where we always have, on advancing an agenda that’s making our nation stronger, safer, and more secure.

CHARLESTON — Officials with teachers' and service personnel unions have called for a statewide strike starting Tuesday in response to the controversial education reform bill currently before the West Virginia Legislature.

The strike was called following proposed amendments in the Senate to the House version of the bill that would increase the number of charter schools and reimplement a provision on education savings accounts that would allow 1,000 accounts for students with special needs.
