I sometimes feel sick to my stomach when I think

how much better Hillary would have handled this pandemic.

CDC reverses COVID-19 guidance, says testing may not be needed after exposure

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly tweaked its guidance on COVID-19 testing Monday, making a change that could result in fewer people being tested and hinder contact tracing efforts.

The guidance now states that healthy people who have been exposed to COVID-19 "do not necessarily need a test," as long as they don't have symptoms. That's a reversal from previous advice that clearly recommended testing for all close contacts of infected individuals, regardless of whether they had symptoms.

"It seems as though this new guidance is actively discouraging people from seeking testing, even if they have a known exposure," Angela Rasmussen, a research scientist at Columbia Public Health in New York City, said. "We need more testing, not less."

President Donald Trump has been outspoken about his belief that the United States has the most COVID-19 cases in the world because of the number of tests it carries out.

This sounds like some of Trump's "slow the testing down" gambit. He's willing to risk public health if it makes him look better.

I've heard the phrase "shoot yourself in the foot". Here's an example.

Man Thought Steel-Toed Boots Would Stop a .45-Caliber Bullet

It doesn't take a smart person to guess it would be a bad idea to shoot your steel-toed boot with a .45.

We can thank this guy with a grimace for teaching everyone how bad of an idea this was.

"This guy and his co-workers were discussing whether a steel toe boot would withstand a round from a .45, so what do do you think would be the best way to test this theory? YUP, you guessed it. Good thing he wasn't testing his hard hat."

Unmasked Protesters Push Past Police Into Idaho Lawmakers' Session

In Boise, the first day of Idaho's special legislative session erupted into chaos before it began. Dozens of unmasked protesters, some of them armed, shoved their way past state troopers to pack the gallery overlooking the state's House of Representatives.

The clash was a manifestation of the anger and frustration from a vocal minority of far-right Idahoans that has been compounding over the last several months as the state has navigated its reopening amid the pandemic.

To enforce social distancing, the gallery area above the House chamber was restricted with limited seating. But after the confrontation with state troopers, which resulted in the shattering of a glass door, Republican House Speaker Scott Bedke relented and allowed protesters to fill every seat.

The response stands in stark contrast to 2014 when dozens of advocates pressuring lawmakers to pass LGBTQ protections were arrested for standing silently in a hallway, blocking access to the Idaho Senate chamber.

It may not come as a surprise that Ammon Bundy was involved in this protest.

White House adviser Peter Navarro: 'Melania Trump is the Jackie Kennedy of her time'

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Tuesday likened First Lady Melania Trump to former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

Navarro made the remarks while speaking to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell about a possible vaccine for COVID-19. His comments came prior to the second night of the 2020 Republican National Convention, when Melania Trump is scheduled to speak.

“You know, tonight, maybe [I will] touch a little bit on what’s going to happen,” Navarro said. “I think it might be useful. I think Melania Trump will be introducing the new Rose Garden.”

“You know, I find her to be the Jackie Kennedy of her time,” he continued, “the beauty, the elegance, the soft-spokenness. I think she’ll deliver a powerful message to the American people.”

I don't see how even one of Trump's biggest cheerleaders could make a statement comparing Melania to Jackie Kennedy Onassis. The Trump cult is totally delusional.
