Rumor has it that several employees tested positive for covid, but I can't find that info in news reports.
One of the Walmart Supercenters in our town has closed this afternoon for cleaning
and sanitation.
The Walmart Supercenter on Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith will be closed from 2 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, for cleaning and sanitization, according to a news release sent by Ashley Nolan, company spokesperson.
"As you know, several areas across the country have begun seeing a renewed increase in positive COVID-19 cases, mainly in regions with low vaccination rates, and we want to assist health officials working against the pandemic," Nolan said.
The Home Office evaluates criteria related to its stores and the surrounding communities.
"When that data reaches certain thresholds, we make the decision to get ahead of the situation and proactively close the store for cleaning and sanitizing," Nolan said.

CHILDREN UNDER 10 ARE EXPERIENCING MAJOR COVID-19 INCREASE IN ARKANSAS
(Not shouting. Headline was in all caps.)
The recent COVID-19 resurgence in Arkansas has led to a 15% increase in cases for children under age 10 in July, the highest of any age group that month.
The 10-and-under age group saw 3,208 additional cases between June 30 and July 30, a 15% increase in the total number of COVID-19 cases, according to an Arkansascovid.com analysis of Arkansas Department of Health data. The 25-34 age group suffered a significant outbreak as well, experiencing a 12% increase with 6,780 additional cases.
The lowest increase involved the elderly, ages 65 and older, who saw 3,997 additional cases, or an 8% increase.
Similarly, the Arkansas Childrens Hospital said they have experienced a record number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations.
