A Jonesboro man has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder after police say the intended victim overheard the suspect planning the crime.

Jonesboro police arrested Larry Barnett, 68, on Thursday after being contacted by a Paragould man.

The man told Detective Jason Simpkins he received a phone call at 12:30 p.m. from Barnett.

He said it appeared Barnett had “unknowingly made” the phone call.

The intended victim said he overheard Barnett give another man directions to his home in Paragould.

During the call, which lasted approximately 1.5 hours and was ongoing when he contacted police, the victim said he overheard Barnett say, “I don’t care if you have to burn his house to the ground with him in it. I don’t care what you have to do, make it look like an accident.”

Because the complainant lived in Paragould, Simpkins contacted the Paragould Police Department and Captain Patrick Lenderman with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Paying tolls on your daily commute is a drop in the ocean compared to the E-ZPass bill one Virginia man drove up by ignoring them.

Jason Bourcier doesn't deny that he rode the Dulles Toll Road nightly without paying for his commute from Reston to Washington three-and-a-half years ago when he was looking for work.

A friend told him that when the toll booths were unmanned after 11:30 p.m., you could use the road without paying. His friend was wrong.

This week, VDOT took Bourcier to court because his bill had ballooned from $440 to more than $200,000, including late fees and interest. They reached a settlement and agreed on a payment plan.

“They provided me with a stack of summonses that was 12 inches high, and me and my lawyers, the best that we could do was $40,000,” he said. “Another kicker is they put me on a payment plan for $150 a month.”

Federal prosecutors said Friday that a woman has admitted making bomb threats against courthouses in three Connecticut cities, apparently in an effort to postpone her required appearance in one of the courts on minor criminal charges.

Jennifer Chirico, 31, of West Haven pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in New Haven to maliciously conveying false information. Her calls targeted courts in Waterbury, Harford and New Haven.

According to information filed in federal court, Chirico and a friend made seven telephone calls to a variety of police agencies and court offices on March 8, claiming that bombs were planted in court buildings.

No bombs were found during searches of all sites, according to an affidavit, filed in court, by FBI bomb expert Samuel DiPasquale III.

A 25-year-old Indianapolis man was hoping to find excitement this morning when he made plans over a chat line to meet up with another man on the Eastside.

The thrill-seeker’s hopes were dashed, however, when the rendezvous went differently than he envisioned — and he was left without either a car or his pants.

The two men arranged over the chat line to meet in a parking area between an apartment complex and liquor store near 21st Street and Ritter Avenue, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

After arriving at the meet-up around 2:40 a.m., the victim told police, he got into the back seat of the silver 2000 Nissan Maxima he was driving and removed his pants.

Police have charged a 20-year-old man with reckless endangerment for allegedly driving his car down the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps made famous by the movie "Rocky."

Police say 20-year-old Emin Faki (AY'-min FAH'-kee) told them the brakes on the car failed and he couldn't stop it. Police had the BMW checked out and filed the criminal charge.

The Oct. 24 stunt was recorded by onlookers who posted videos online.

Yes, outlets like The Guardian, The Independent and Buzzfeed are aesthetically correct in comparing the Al Wakrah World Cup Stadium design to a vagina. A George Clooney lookalike has revealed that he was once offered £5,500 to sleep with a man’s wife as part of her birthday celebrations.

Gary Tate claims to have lived a jet-set lifestyle imitating the Hollywood actor at events around the globe, but says the strangest request of his career came from London businessman who was organising his wife’s 40th birthday.

He said he was initially offered £5,000 to sleep with the married woman, he said.

Mr Tate, who owns a cleaning firm as his day job, told the Kentish Express: “When I asked why he would want me to do that he said ‘we have an open relationship, she’s mad about Clooney, and I can’t get him so I’m asking you’.
