Now all the other Mockingbirds will want snowshoes too.

A tiny mockingbird is on the road to recovery, thanks to experts at a wildlife center in California, US, who lent a helping hand.

Staff at the California Wildlife Center (CWC) came to the rescue of a cute Northern Mockingbird with a foot condition that made it difficult for it to perch or walk.

CWC wrote on their website: “She was unable to open her feet to stand or perch.

“This was causing the bird to have to stand on the tops of her toes which were curled under and causing her additional injury.

“CWC veterinary staff created ‘snowshoes’ for the mockingbird to retrain her feet to open and allow the injuries to her toes to heal.”

They added that the treatment was success and the mockingbird is now “snowshoe-free” and on the road to a complete recovery.

You may think it's funny but ...

Poison Ivy is growing on the edge of my new (Hellbornes, Iceplants, Amethyst Calluna, Cherry Blossom Song Iris) flower garden next to the small Koi pond.

I can't spray ivy killer without risking the life of my fish.

About In_The_Wind

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. ~~~~~~~~~ For, it ends in the blink of an eye. Carpe Diem (Seize the day)!
