College graduates get more relief on loan payments

Source: Kansas City Star

One month after graduating from Avila University this June with a master’s degree in business administration, Andy Fogel received his first statement detailing payments due on his $38,000 student loan.

The bill: $380 a month for 10 years.

Fogel can’t afford that unless he limits his meals to a college diet of ramen noodles every night. No thanks.

“There would be nothing left for unexpected situations,” said Fogel, who works in the financial aid office at Kansas State University. “With everything else, I just couldn’t afford to make those payments.”

Missouri bill would allow teachers to carry guns in schools

Source: Kansas City Star

JEFFERSON CITY -- Any public school teacher or administrator with a concealed weapons permit would be allowed to carry guns in Missouri schools under a bill filed Tuesday in the state House.

Republican Rep. Mike Kelley of Lamar is sponsoring the legislation, along with Republican Rep. Rick Brattin of Harrisonville. It comes less than a week after a gunman shot and killed 26 people – including 20 children – at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Missouri law currently prohibits anyone except law enforcement from bringing a weapon into schools. But following the Connecticut school shooting, Republicans around the nation have argued that similar tragedies could be avoided in the future by arming school personnel.

"I think there is a correlation between these horrible acts of violence and the gun-free zones that have come about by the law," Republican Rep. Stanley Cox, a Sedalia attorney who is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, recently told the Associated Press.

Anonymous Hacks The Westboro Baptist Church: Posts All Their Personal Information

Source: The Inquisitr

The hacking collective known as Anonymous renewed their war on the Westboro Baptist Church today. After the haters from the infamous church posted their intentions to picket the funerals of the twenty children killed in the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Anonymous responded by re-posting the personal and professional information for members of the church on the Internet. Now the general public can contact the church members directly and tell them what they think about people who would desecrate the funerals of murdered children.

Westboro Baptist Church has been irritating Americans for years with venom filled message about their demented version of God. According to the many closely related and intermarried members of the Phelps family who make up the majority of the congregation of the so-called church, God enjoys killing children and soldiers. They constantly proclaim God hates homosexuals and plans to destroy America for not following the Westboro Baptist Church’s twisted version of Christianity. The incredible obsession with homosexuality expressed by Fred and family seems to many as a sure fire case of “thou dost protest too much.”

Anonymous has been after the Westboro Baptist Church for several months now, hacking their websites repeatedly. Recently, they accused the church of creating a fake letter from the hacking group in order to trick other hackers into attacking the website. Anonymous warned their supporters the church planned to harvest internet addresses and sue people. Suing people is apparently the primary activity of the Westboro Baptist Church when they aren’t screaming hate at funerals.

Of course, Westboro denied the charges and taunted Anonymous as incompetent hackers. They claimed their website was protected by God. Big mistake. A few days later, while a Westboro spokeswoman was boasting about how the church foiled Anonymous on a radio talk show, an Anonymous spokesman called in and hacked the church’s website in real time on the air.

‘In Cold Blood’ killers linked to unsolved 1959 Florida murders

OSPREY, FLA. -- At the end of 1959, two families of four — one in Kansas, the other in Florida — were brutally murdered.

Two men were arrested, charged and executed in the Kansas case, and writer Truman Capote captured the horrific tale in his book, “In Cold Blood.”

The Florida murder of two parents and two children remains unsolved.

Now, a detective is trying to prove that Perry Smith and Richard Hickock, who were executed for the Kansas murders, also were responsible for the Florida killings of Cliff and Christine Walker and their children.

With Pot Legal, Police Worry About Road Safety

It's settled. Pot, at least certain amounts of it, will soon be legal under state laws in Washington and Colorado. Now, officials in both states are trying to figure out how to keep stoned drivers off the road.

Colorado's measure doesn't make any changes to the state's driving-under-the-influence laws, leaving lawmakers and police to worry about its effect on road safety.

"We're going to have more impaired drivers," warned John Jackson, police chief in the Denver suburb of Greenwood Village.

Washington's law does change DUI provisions by setting a new blood-test limit for marijuana — a limit police are training to enforce, and which some lawyers are already gearing up to challenge.

Don't see how this can work. So if they catch you driving under the speed limit they are going to draw your blood for a lab test?

DU always seems to crawl and sometimes to a halt around 3am

I was just wondering if other DUers experience the same thing.

That would be central time.

We've got a long night ahead of us.

I'm personally not in the mood for woe is me whining.

I'm pleased to see that some of these negative posts have been pulled

We are still in the fight!

Sorry guys we got 4 more years of this dumbass. Fox is saying NH is Obama too but then took it back.

Fox News needs to fire Dick Morris immediately. He predicted PA, Michigan, and Connecticut for Romney the other day and all have lost.

As usual, PA was a teaser. Stupid Pennsylvanians! They want a marxist society.

We heard of numerous instances of GOP poll watchers being locked out, unregistered voters voting, etc.. I think if Romney supporters knew the extent of Dem voter fraud in this election there’d be a war in the streets.

I’m sick. I can’t believe how stupid the people in my state are. We had a voter ID law almost in place. There is no hope for this state.

And you can add Ohio for obama, too. Never thought that would be possible, but the map shows Romney is finished here.

Would someone tell the idiots on Fox that Romney can lose OH and win CO-WI and win the election?

They all keep hyping OHIO as the only path, no it is not.

Sorry if I sound like a Debbie Downer but I think we are all going to be sorry if the early results pan out.

It’s still early and I’m praying harder and harder for the Lord to help us.

Dick Morris and his b.s. books and theories and poll readings etc...called the other night that Florida and Virginia and North Carolina and Virginia and Ohio would be a blow out.

Dick Morris has just tweeted that too early to call PA.
Dick Morris is an idiot. I can only hope after tonight Morris is finally fired from Fox News and we never have to hear from him again.
