Helen Ratajczak is a former senior scientist at a pharmaceutical firm. In her previous position she was restricted from writing and publishing studies and information. Now retired, she can say what she wants. Her new findings are published in the Journal of Immunotoxicology.

Ratajczak has reviewed the entire body of the scientific science of autism
which dates back to 1943.

Ratajczak also discusses that autism can be caused by numerous factors including an increased number of vaccines given in a short period of time. She reveals a startling piece of evidence: 23 vaccines contain human DNA, including the MMR vaccine and the Chickenpox vaccine. Both of these vaccines are suspected to induce autism. After the thimerosal-mercury additive was removed from many vaccines, vaccine manufacturers began including human fetal DNA tissue. (My edit: in many cases the mercury was replaced with formaldehyde, which as most organic chemists would tell you, is only slightly less toxic than mercury.)

Now it's changed, so its an altered self and the body's response is to kill it. Where is this most expressed? The neurons of the brain. Now you have body response killing the brain cells and it's an ongoing inflammation. It doesn't stop, it continues through the life of that individual."

Currently there are numerous groups of researchers who are studying the effects of human fetal
DNA tissue and the possible link to pathologies, such as the Sound Choice P
Pharmaceutical Institute (SCPI). The SCPI has found in preliminary research that there are "hot spots" for DNA recombination connected to the 9 autism associated genes. These 9 genes are involved in neuron synapses, nervous system development and the functioning of the intracellular organelles called mitochondria.

The DNA in these vaccines originate in aborted fetal tissue which does not have
to be disclosed to patients receiving the injections. For some this is a "pro-life" issue -- but for many other people, it simply is another questionable and dangerous source of contamination linked to rising rates of Autism and auto-immune diseases.

antibodies to human tissue. Children produce antibodies to every component
of the vaccine, and not simply the viruses. This can cause demylination of the
nerves and auto-immune disorders. Children who have been vaccinated with MMR

Fortunately, parents have access to all of this information directly via
their libraries and the internet. They are not being intimidated by FEAR
campaigns by the vaccine industry, nor are they foolishly following a
"head in the sand" model of ignoring information.

One man's life in Guatanmo Bay _ how it was he came

To be held by American service people, how he was transferred to Guatanamo, in early 2002.

His five year old might be raped, he was told, if he didn't tell them what they wanted him to tell them. At one point he realized he would willingly tell them that he was Bin Laden, if only the torture would stop.

He knew the details of any false confession that he made might land him in prison, but he thought it would be like a Saudi Arabian prison, where even if you' re sentenced to fifteen years, you will get a lot of time off for good behavior, and you will get a lot of time off if you memorize the Koran. Since the USA had a reputation for human rights, he thought that an American prison would not be worse than a Saudi Arabian prison, so when tortured he didn't care what he said to them.

Reading this account made me so ashamed of my country, and of all the officials who brought us to this point.

I have become a new kind of extremist. And there are

Many people joining me.

What are we doing? We are becoming "Community Rights" organizers.

Just as people in Mexico banded together to see to it that community by community, and then the nation of Mexico on the national level, banned Monsanto, so too are we dismembering the Big Corporations!

Already people in New Hampshire have stopped the Big Utility from Quebec from coming in and taking over their infra-structure, and not only that, they now have a sustainable utility and energy policy in place. Meanwhile others have banned Nestle from taking over their spring and well water.

The only way to rid ourselves of the polices of the One Percent, even as that One Percent attempts to buy Pacific Rim Government officials and get the TPP passed, the only way to stop this barf is to get on the Community Rights bandwagon.

We Activists are Taking Down Corporate Personhood One Community at a Time.

For years, here on DU, I have been ranting and raving that the One Big Money Party has sold us out.

Every post that longtime Du member autorank ever made regarding how totally the One Percent is directing our economy, every post that Octafish has ever made regarding the secret cabal of inner workings of our government, to advantage the "Corporate Citizen" AIG, and "Corporate Citizen" Goldman Sachs, excellent posts and OP's by bvar22, and every screed that I have posted with regards to these matters, all these bits and pieces of information have had me type out in frustration so many times, that although many of us are as mad as hell and we just can't take it, there is nothing we can do.

Now I realize I am wrong about that. There is a movement we can join to take back our rights as individuals, and our rights as community participants.

There are over 150 communities in the USA who have banded together to take on Corporate Personhood. By the end of this OP, you will have a lot of clues as to how to start helping do that inside your community.

Now if you have ever been involved in local politics, you find out rather quickly that local citizens must usually "kow to" to the elected supervisors, or city council people, or even to employees, such as city or county engineers and planners etc.

And then there are other disconnects. Your elected Board of Supervisors will never ever sit down with the US Federal Senators from your state, and rarely do city council folks or Board of Supervisors even meet with state legislators.

This furthers the huge disconnect. There are so many separate layers of government. It certainly doesn't seem like there is any way to have a Grand Over View. Nor does there seem like there is much of a way to have any re-arrangement of components that might result if the various layers of government communicated with each other.

For instance, my small, Northern Calif. community recently received "free of charge" a piece of modern military over design, this $ 360,000 MRAP vehicle which was designed to take on the IED's of Iraq warfare. This is all part of the militarization of the local police force. Meanwhile our schools have little monies, the local swimming pool may not be opened as it needs $ 40,000 worth of repairs, etc. To add insult to the injury, the state of Calif. just "awarded" my community twenty two millions of dollars to remodel and re-furbish one hundred local prison cells. Where did this amount of money come from? In part, through the state legislature and the governor knocking one billion dollars out of the state budget for health care-related matters over the next ten years. (At the very time that community clinics will need more money as they are going to be swamped by people who now have health insurance through "CoveredCalifornia.org )

People are connecting the dots, but then, what can they do? When confronted by activists wanting solutions, our elected community leaders say that all the problems are divided up in various departments of various layers of government and that you can't, for instance, transfer the MRAP vehicle's worth over to the schools. But over time, the community rights' movement could end up doing a re-arrangement of the layers so that common sense solutions could occur.

I really truly think that the community based rights movement is being designed to handle all these problems and more, including the complete dismemberment of the Corporate Beast. ((Er, Corporate Personhood.)

Through community activism, connected with real political know how, a small farming community in Pennsylvania tackled the problem of keeping out a 14,000 pig, Corporate Pig Farm. The community succeeded despite the fact that elected officials said, "An American owned business, regardless of what it does, always has the right to come into a community." In other words, if you little farmers do not like the destruction of water and soil, and the ability to breath air that doesn't reek of pig shit, move somewhere else!

Their efforts succeeded. They created a community based, County based piece of legislation that kept the Corporate Pig Farm out.

A small community in New Hampshire, and despite opposition from state and federal elected officials and agencies, took on a huge Quebec -based utility and put sustainable energy in its place.

So what are the particulars of how we go about doing this? First of all, to free up your time, end the worship of individuals. The heroes we are presented with end up in one of two ways:

One) They turn out to be a mere "face" for the One Percent. And although the One Percent may not care for Bruce Springsteen, the elected "face" might, although they certainly don't act on Bruce's real message, once they are in office. The One percent has learned to like presenting us with a fuzzy warm "face." That way we accept what is happening to us all the more willingly.

Two) If the politicians do not sell us out once elected, they're hit with lawsuits about their illegal past behaviors. Google Maxine Waters and see what she has had to endure over the past recent bits of history. Finally she is exonerated, but at a huge expense of time and money. The time she spent on exonerating herself should have been spent on her constituents, but that is what the PTB wanted.

Once you free yourself from the worship of individuals, you will have the time to become educated about how to effectively take back your community.

Twitter social movement "hashtag CancelColbert" backfired -

Guess who will now take over the Late Show with David Letterman?

I have no idea if #CancelColbert was a prank or simply the result of some humorless Republican moron who decided they could use twitter to take out a comedian.

But going to #CancelColbert has some amusing comments. One person suggests that just to be on the safe side,we should not only ban Colbert, but all TV!

In the end, it looks like once again, Stephen has the last laugh.

A few headaches in thinking about Kubuntu

I am getting recommendations re: Kubuntu by Linux.

Evidently it will run Windows GAMES which is a plus for me.
And it runs LIBRE OFFICE which I've also heard good things about --
and it's simple.

Evidently, it's better than Linux Mint --
In fact, they're recommending that you just wipe out Microsoft.
I'm willing to do that but maybe I could partition my computer instead?

On the other hand, maybe my computer is simply too old to run Linux on? (HP compaq, bought second hand two years ago, but it is old.) So what are the system requirements?

And keep half Windows XP, but the other half could be on the web and therefore needs to be modernized, to keep up with all then ewer websites.

I have to check my WP and see what I have there that I might need to make notes about.
Can people here do me a favor and let me know if LINUX (Kutbunto or Mint or any of their programs) will automatically run your copier? Very concerned about that!


What I want to know are what are the main snags that you hit
in installing any of the Linux programs that create a problem?
Either at the time of installation or later on? Snags?

Wow -- thought I'd have this done over the weekend.

There is a tribe in Africa where the birth date of a child is counted not from when they were born, nor from when they are conceived but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother’s mind. And when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child that wants to come. And after she’s heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child’s father, and teaches it to him. And then, when they make love to physically conceive the child, some of that time they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite it.

And then, when the mother is pregnant, the mother teaches that child’s song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child’s song to welcome it. And then, as the child grows up, the other villagers are taught the child’s song. If the child falls, or hurts its knee, someone picks it up and sings its song to it. Or perhaps the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty, then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song.

In the African tribe there is one other occasion upon which the villagers sing to the child. If at any time during his or her life, the person commits a crime or aberrant social act, the individual is called to the center of the village and the people in the community form a circle around them. Then they sing their song to them.

The tribe recognizes that the correction for antisocial behavior is not punishment; it is love and the remembrance of identity. When you recognize your own song, you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt another.

And it goes this way through their life. In marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when this child is lying in bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing—for the last time—the song to that person.

And it is important to reflect on the fact that

One) Few police departments carefully screen their gun carrying officers. When you realize how many cops out their are guilty of beating their wives, or even killing them, the lack of screening of police should become mandatory. But it will take the citizens to demand this accountability. Peterson of the Chicago area, Bolingbrook police force, who killed two of his wives, comes to mind as I post this. I encountered Peterson back in early eighties, when he refused to take a complaint against my neighbor wh beat his daughter, once even inflicting a broken arm on the eight year old. "Children need discipline - it is a parents' right," Peterson told me.)

Two) In many places in the USA, even here in "liberal" California, being mentally ill means that should some one of your neighbors ask the cops to do a "welfare check" on you, you can be killed as a result of that fellow citizen asking for help on your behalf.

So it is a fact that mentally ill people are more likely to be gunned down by cops, who are "helping us" by doing that. (One DU'er told me that cops have the right to shoot a mentally ill person causing a disturbance but only inside their own home, because otherwise, should they sit around waiting for the person to calm down,their schedule would get messed up!)

Three) In this society, the FBI and DEA are targeting our young people who have noticeable mental challenges such as Aspergers'. Rolling Stone did an article on the family in Riverside area, where their son finally thought he was getting a friend. One of his first friends ever! All this teen had to do to keep the friendship alive was procure about $ 20 worth of pot. Imagine how terrified this teenager must have been, when he was busted several months later for that entrapment!

Not only does the DEa and DOJ do such nefarious shit, but the FBI entraps bi-polar young people by asking for their help in a "shopping trip." Too bad if the mentally challenged young adult doesn't realize that the stuff they are being asked to buy at Home Depot could be used in a bomb. too bad, and the headlines let us all know that once again, our FBI has kept us safe from another terrorist plot!

Depressing Day. Sometimes it is hard to believe the wisdom that

Margaret Mead once expressed:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

As I type this, the resounding reactions of disbelief, concern, anger etc are raging through the internet, as people realize how SCOTUS is willing to sell out democracy for the sake of the friends in High Places.

Equally depressing is my realization as what this ruling means to those of us who want not only democracy but safe food.

I know there are other issues that are as important as safe food. But no other issue currently confronting us has the indelible time stamp on it that this issue possesses.

If the US government "goofs up" on health care reform, it might be a hard and long struggle to bring about a better situation. (ACA vs Single Payer Universal HC for All, for example.)

If the government embarks on an illegal war,eventually it is possible for the nation we affected (and are affecting) to rebound, although it may take one hundred years.

But as our government allows full leniency for Gm Firms to embark on the Gm seed, crop and food issue, so that the Gm seeds, crops and foods are planted everywhere, and consumed by almost everyone, including the animals that we eat, then what?

POLLEN IS JUST NOT ABLE TO PUT ITSELF BACK INTO THE BOTTLE! ONCE THE GENIE OF BIG GOVERNMENT ALLOWS ITS RELEASE, IT IS OUT THERE FOREVER!!!

So should it turn out that Gm seeds, crops and foods turn out to be a disaster, the food supply in this nation will be beyond destruction, as it will be beyond repair. Pollen is indifferent to whether or not a new government decides it is good or bad. Once the seeds are allowed to be planted in large enough numbers, and as the crops mature, the pollen is then freely dispersed into the air, and from there on out it could reach a tipping point, so that the Gm seeds become dominant over other seeds. This dispersal is all encompassing, as the seeds travel into the atmosphere, and into the soil, water, and air.

Ten years or twenty years from now, Mr Obama might come to rue his decisions to allow Mike Taylor and Vilsac their high positions inside our governmental agencies, but even if he still at that time has influence over his party, there will be no speech he can give, nor amount of money he can raise, nor any amount of friends in high places he can influence who will be able to undo what has been done in the last twenty years.

Pollen is pollen. Other nations do not take a position that the Precautionary Principle is invalid. Rather, they take the position that if there are no real valid studies of a scientific process, it is best to avoid that process until the facts are in.

I know from dealing with individuals on other boards and forums that this principle, so trusted and understood in other places, is ridiculed in the USA. Here in the USA our citizens are now drenched inside the arrogance and stupidity of "our right to believe" that if we don't know if something so good or bad, then we should just use that technology and product until we discover otherwise.

How would I define the Precautionary Principle? The Precautionary Principle asserts that the burden of proof for potentially harmful actions by industry or government rests on the assurance of safety and that when there are threats of serious damage, scientific uncertainty must be resolved in favor of prevention. In practice it is taken to mean that if there is not enough reliable data on a situation to determine that it is safe, then the process, technology or product in question should not be encouraged, utilized or funded.

Twenty six nations have officials who are granted the freedom to hold office without the need for the massive Big Industry contributions for political campaigns. On account of that freedom, they can ban Gm seeds and crops and foods. Even last week, yet another Pacific Rim country denounced Gm foods, and their top official has put a ban on them. (I am forgetting if it was Malayasia, or whatever. Maybe someone here has that information?)

But here in the USA, regardless if we have a republican in the Oval Office, or a Democrat, or a Democratic or Republican majority in Congress, the Big Money wins the advantage. We activists are called Luddites because we ask for caution, and the Gm seed and crops and foods are allowed to flourish. Meanwhile, in fact the companies supporting Gm technology are given massive amounts of Corporate Welfare to achieve their aims.
