He's a maniac who's going to get us NUKED: JFK files reveal how the Soviet Union feared they were go

Source: Daily Mail

The Soviet Union feared they were going to get blamed for putting 'neurotic maniac' Lee Harvey Oswald up to assassinating John F Kennedy, one of more than 2,800 newly released assassination files has revealed.
The trove of files were published on the National Archives website Thursday night, but President Donald Trumphas kept at least 300 documents back so federal agencies can black out portions.
In one FBI document dated December 1, 1963, from director J Edgar Hoover, the agency reveals everything it has learned about the Soviet reaction to the JFK's assassinationand what its agents might have known about Oswald.
The tranche of documents reveal that the Soviets were just as obsessed with conspiracy theories surrounding Kennedy's death as the rest of the world.
'According to our source, officials of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union believed there was some well-organized conspiracy on the part of the 'ultraright' in the United States to effect a 'coup.''

Christie: Everybody knows now Trump Jr.'s meeting was a 'bad idea'

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a supporter and friend of President Donald Trump, said Sunday that Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer in June of last year was a bad idea, but everyone would be best served to wait for special counsel Robert Mueller's findings on the matter.
"This meeting was ill-advised," Christie said on CNN's "State of the Union." "This is not something that should have happened. ... Everybody in retrospect knew this was a bad idea."
Christie said it was not yet clear whether Trump had known about the meeting, which took place in Trump Tower and included his son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The Republican governor also said it was unclear what role Trump played in crafting Trump Jr.'s initial response to news reports about the meeting, which Trump Jr. first said was "primarily" about adoption and its relation to US sanctions on Russia under the Magnitsky Act.
Within days of that first statement, as more details about the meeting became public, Trump Jr. posted emails on Twitter that showed he took the meeting in hopes of gaining damaging information on Hillary Clinton that would be provided as part of the Russian government's support for his father. Category 5 hurricane: White House under siege by Trump Jr.s Russia revelations

Source: MSN

The White House has been thrust into chaos after days of ever-worsening revelations about a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a lawyer characterized as representing the Russian government, as the president fumes against his enemies and senior aides circle one another with suspicion, according to top White House officials and outside advisers.

President Trump who has been hidden from public view since returning last weekend from a divisive international summit is enraged that the Russia cloud still hangs over his presidency and is exasperated that his eldest son and namesake has become engulfed by it, said people who have spoken with him this week.
The disclosure that Trump Jr. met with a Russian attorney, believing he would receive incriminating information about Hillary Clinton as part of the Kremlins effort to boost his fathers candidacy, has set back the administrations faltering agenda and rattled the senior leadership team.

Even supporters of Trump Jr. who believe he faces no legal repercussions privately acknowledged Tuesday that the story is a public relations disaster for him as well as for the White House. One outside ally called it a Category 5 hurricane, while an outside adviser said a CNN graphic charting connections between the Trump team and Russians resembled the plot of the fictional Netflix series House of Cards.
Even Vice President Pence sought to distance himself from the controversy, with his spokesman noting that Trump Jr.s meeting occurred before Pence joined the ticket.

Inside a White House in which infighting often seems like a core cultural value, three straight days of revelations in the New York Times about Trump Jr. have inspired a new round of accusations and recriminations, with advisers privately speculating about who inside the Trump orbit may be leaking damaging information about the presidents son

New Jersey Politics
Could 'Beachgate' drive Christie down to single digits in polls?

TRENTON ---Gov. Chris Christie was already the most unpopular governor in the history of New Jersey polling.
Then came photos earlier this week that showed he'd hit the beach at Island Beach State Park at a time when the park was closed to the public because of a state government shutdown. When asked later in the day about whether he had gotten out in the sun, Christie said he did not.
To determine what effect the episode might have on his already low approval rating -- now 15 percent, at last count -- we checked in with six of the nation's top pollsters.
Their answers might surprise you.
Here's what they had to say.
CHRIS JACKSON
Vice president, IPSOS
"If he'd done something out of character, that might move the needle lower. But I don't see his polling numbers moving all that much. He's already close to what a floor would be. With this beach story, people aren't saying, 'I can't believe Christie did that!' because it actually sounds like something Christie would have done. That last 15 percent, it's going to be pretty hard to change their minds absent him being arrested for some horrible crime. That's the bedrock that thinks, 'I like that he's got a lot of bravado and taking advantage of the system, 'cause the system is rigged, anyway.' After they decide that that's their guy, virtually nothing's going to change their mind once they've made it up."

SAMANTHA LUKS
Managing director, YouGov
"The problem is that we don't have a Chris Christie who didn't do this to compare it to. He already had low approval before it happened. Will it make things worse for him? Well, the Access: Hollywood story (about Trump) last fall -- that referred to criminal behavior. This particular lie isn't as consequential as other type. It falls under 'extremely tacky' but I would have called the Bridge incident to be more politically consequential, and it already happened. But it's definitely possible to get into the single digits (Ohio Gov.) Bob Taft got to 7 percent. (Illinois Gov. Rod) Blagojevich hit 8 percent ---after his conviction.

If I tied Jeb at four percent I wouldn't feel so bad about it ,five is better though. 8% would be better yet. Yea me and my buddy Rod.

Canadian Gold rush brothel run by Trump's grandfather which sold food, booze and sex will be transfo

The president's grandfather Friedreich Trump started the hotel in Bennett Canada in 1897
Trump had immigrated from Germany at the age of 16 and was working as a barber in Manhattan, New York, before he became a businessman
Employed indigenous people to help build his hotel, which offered a 'private room for ladies'
President Trump says claims his family once run a brothel are 'totally false'

The gold rush brothel run by President Trump's grandfather will be turned into a tourist attraction.
Friedrich Trump built the Arctic Restaurant and Hotel in Bennett, Canada, and kickstarted the family's multi- billion empire.
On the surface, his business was simply a hotel and restaurant that boasted a fancy menu - in reality, it was a brothel that housed prostitutes and sold large amount of alcohol, Maclean's Magazine reports.
The Parks Canada and the Carcross Tagish First Nation want to transform the ancient site into a tourist attraction, 120 years since its founding.

Trump - who was working as a barber - moved from Manhattan, New York, to Bennett to start the business in 1897.
The German-born immigrant was attracted to the Klondike Gold Rush in Bennett.
When he arrived, he employed indigenous people in Canada to help him construct the building.
The hotel sold dishes considered expensive at the time, including moose, goose and caribou.
Prostitutes - who called themselves 'Ladies of the Night' - often stayed at the hotel to entertain guests.
One hotel reviewer wrote at the time: 'For single men the Arctic has excellent accommodations as well as the best restaurant in Bennett, but I would not advise respectable women to go there to sleep as they are liable to hear that which would be repugnant to their feelings - and uttered, too, by the depraved of their own sex
In 1901, Trump left Bennett since the gold rush was over and moved his business to Whitehorse, Canada. He later sold the restaurant because the government at the time was suppressing alcohol, gambling and prostitution - the main sources of his profits.
He then moved back to Germany - which he left at the age of 16 years old - and met his wife Elizabeth.
The pair had three children together: Fred - the president's father, John and Elizabeth - and eventually returned to the US.
President Trump has called reports of his grandfather running a brothel 'totally false'.
The renovators are yet to say when the site will be open to the public
