Chris Christie: Trump should have kept me on team

NEWARK — Gov. Chris Christie said Wednesday that his removal as chairman of Donald Trump's presidential transition has proven to be a "big mistake" and that the country has paid for it.
Christie also said he thinks his opposition during the transition to naming retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn the national security adviser was a "significant reason" for his ouster last year, three days after Trump won the presidency in an upset over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
During the same news conference where he was asked about Flynn, Christie extended a dispute with his Democratic successor, Phil Murphy, about the authenticity of a document provided by his transition team concerning non-disclosure agreement.

11 new things we just learned about Chris Christie Posted November 17, 2017 at 06:03 PM Updated No

. Chris Christie gave a one-on-one talk with Politico's Josh Dawsey last week for what the website billed as "an epic exit interview."
The interview was published Friday in Politico Magazine.
Here are 11 highlights and new things we learned about the governor.

1. Christie thinks there's more to Bridgegate
The George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal shattered Christie's popularity in the state and delivered a big blow to his White House ambitions. Christie has never been directly tied to the scandal and he adamantly denies any involvement.
The admitted mastermind of the scandal, David Wildstein, told jurors it was a political revenge scheme against the mayor of Fort Lee for not endorsing Christie's re-election bid. His testimony helped convict a former top Christie administration official, Bridget Anne Kelly, and the governor's top appointee to the Port Authority, Bill Baroni.
But Christie thinks there's more to the story.
“I don’t even think the true story has ever been told about why it was done,” Christie said. “I don’t buy the fact and I’ve never bought the fact that this was done to penalize the mayor of Fort Lee.”
Christie wouldn't say what he thought happened, telling Politico he doesn't know.

Early exit poll results in today’s race for New Jersey governor confirm: Chris Christie is the least popular governor in America.
Only 19 percent of New Jersey voters so far said they approve of the job Christie is doing, while a whopping 79 percent disapprove.
One year ago, during the 2016 general election, 72 percent of Jersey voters said they disapproved of Christie's performance

Source: Daily Mail

The Soviet Union feared they were going to get blamed for putting 'neurotic maniac' Lee Harvey Oswald up to assassinating John F Kennedy, one of more than 2,800 newly released assassination files has revealed.
The trove of files were published on the National Archives website Thursday night, but President Donald Trumphas kept at least 300 documents back so federal agencies can black out portions.
In one FBI document dated December 1, 1963, from director J Edgar Hoover, the agency reveals everything it has learned about the Soviet reaction to the JFK's assassinationand what its agents might have known about Oswald.
The tranche of documents reveal that the Soviets were just as obsessed with conspiracy theories surrounding Kennedy's death as the rest of the world.
'According to our source, officials of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union believed there was some well-organized conspiracy on the part of the 'ultraright' in the United States to effect a 'coup.''
