Issa Tries to Subpoena Sensitive ACA Website Code. Cummings PWNS Him

Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sent a letter to Committee Chairman Darrell Issa requesting that he abandon the unnecessary and confrontational subpoena he issued to government contractor MITRE Corporation demanding sensitive security documents relating to the Healthcare.gov website. If Issa refuses, Cummings’ letter calls on Issa to follow House Rules and hold a Committee vote before releasing any documents obtained pursuant to his subpoena.
Issa issued his unilateral subpoena on Monday while Cummings was in South Africa for Nelson Mandela’s funeral, and he rejected requests by Democratic staffers to wait two days until Cummings returned. Issa’s actions contradicted a commitment he made to consult with Cummings before issuing subpoenas and, according to Cummings’ letter, “leave the impression that you were rushing to issue the subpoena before I returned to the United States.”

The documents under subpoena are Security Control Assessments conducted by MITRE. According to Cummings’ letter, MITRE security officials warned Issa repeatedly in letters on November 5, November 22, and December 4 that “the documents you are demanding include software code and other technical information that is highly sensitive and that MITRE officials believe could give hackers a roadmap to compromise the security of the website and the personal information of American citizens.”

Teen Kills 4; Judge LITERALLY Lets Him Off Because He is Rich!

16-year old Ethan Couch was driving drunk at THREE times the legal limit and had Valium in his system. He plowed into four people going 70 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone, killing them. Other victims are severly injured; one has severe brain damage. Even after he killed those people, he was uncooperative and combative with the emergency services and walked away from the police saying "I'm outta here".

He pleaded guilty, of course. But Ethan's parents are very, very, very wealthy. (We are talking the 1%.) They hired an attorney that brought on a psychologist to say Couch was "a product of wealth" and was used to getting "whatever he wanted". Because he was so afluent and accustomed to never having consequences, the attorney argued that he should get therapy as opposed to jail.

Young white dancer with her two black instructors handcuffed by Houston Police. Racism?

A young 13 year old dancer, Landry Thompson, came to Houston from Oklahoma. She travelled with her two dance instructors over the weekend. The intent of their visit was to train all weekend with some of the best in dance industry.

When they left the studio Saturday night they stopped at a gas station very exhausted as they searched for their lodging. They were trying to locate their hotel on the GPS. Out of nowhere they were surrounded by the Houston police.

The Houston police dragged them out of the car and handcuffed them all.

“I was kind of freaked out and surprised by it,” said Landry Thompson.

“They just pulled us out of the car. Put our hands behind out backs like we were criminals,” said Landry’s dance instructor Emmanuel Hurd. “He asked me; who is the girl? She is my student. I said I have a notarized letter from her parents stating that I have full guardianship over her while we are here.”

Landry Thompson and the instructors said they pleaded with the police and told the police their story repeatedly. It did not matter to the Houston police. Landry Thompson said, “They still put handcuffs on me. And it really scared me. And they put me in the back of the cop car. I was terrified.” Landry Thompson was taken to Protective Services.

I doubt very much that this would have occurred if the instructors were white. In fact, I doubt the police would have even given them a second look. It is total BS.

Michigan about to require women to buy "rape insurance" based on petition signed by 4.2% of voters

Thanks to a petition drive that resulted in 4.2% of Michiganders voicing their minority opinion, Michigan is about to become a place where women have to plan ahead for their abortions. If you become pregnant accidentally or if you are raped and become pregnant and haven't purchased a separate abortion coverage rider on your health insurance, you won't be covered. This isn't just for state government insurance plans or those purchased on the health insurance exchange. It's for EVERY insurance plan available in the state.

Perhaps they should require men to buy dick insurance to cover the cost of complications of Viagra. Those 4 hour erections causing their heads to swell can be expensive. Not counting the heart attacks and strokes it can cause.

Stockman's filings don't explain his income

Both as a candidate and as a congressman, Rep. Steve Stockman of Clear Lake has failed to make federally required disclosures about business affiliations that stretch from Texas to the British Virgin Islands, and has provided no details about the business he claims as his sole source of income.
