it reminded me of being on DU on 08Nov2016. not a happy memory. wondering if i have a virus or it's on their end. i use avira.
Books to read in the age of Trump
I've read a couple, and have many in my to-read pile, but the one i'm reading right now I would recommend that every single person read.

it's an education of sorts for the lay person. several possible diagnoses are discussed (he's probably got most or all of them). I'm still not clear on whether he knows he's lying all the time, but i do know that he has carefully arranged to be around enablers. it is imperative to clear the trump cult out of government. it's really dangerous, and so is the president.

i voted for them both.
i love Bernie and i love Hillary. both are great; both are flawed.
isn't the constant squabbling a zero sum game? maybe i don't know what that means. all i know is i skip over the bernie bashing and skip over the hillary bashing. i feel it more acutely with Hillary right now because of the increased attention due to her book coming out. i feel the sexism. nobody that i can think of has taken more unwarranted criticism from the left than Hillary Clinton. for decades and decades there has been a campaign of propaganda and i believe much of it has been internalized by leftists with purist tendencies.
we are not going to get a perfect candidate. but we can, and should, get a winning candidate. Lots of them! 2018, 2020, are so important. we just need to be together. it's just so important. the country is going down the tubes under trump and republicans. please.

i had to turn it off. sessions said "illegal alien" about 5 times in the 30 to 60 seconds i kept it on.
fuck them. absolutely fuming. my son came out of his room and asked me if i was all right. no, no i am not. i don't live in my country anymore.
Durham Confederate Statue Protesters to Hold Rally Before Turning Themselves in

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A total of four people now face charges in connection with the toppling of a Confederate statue in front of the old Durham County courthouse Monday evening.
Three of the four are expected in court Thursday — Dante Emmanuel Strobino, 35, Ngoc Loan Tran, 24, and Peter Gilbert, 39, all of Durham.
Takiyah Thompson, 22, of Durham, was the first person charged in the incident. She had her first court appearance Wednesday morning.
Before Strobino, Tran and Gilbert appear before a judge, a group is expected to rally outside the courthouse to protest the charges.

Fourth person arrested after toppling of Durham County Confederate monument

The Durham County Sheriff's Office arrested a fourth person in connection with activists who toppled a Confederate statue during a demonstration Monday night.
Deputies arrested Peter Gull Gilbert, 36, of Durham, Wednesday afternoon.
The Durham County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dante Emmanuel Strobino, 35, and Ngoc Loan Tran, 24. Wednesday morning when they were attending a court hearing for Takiyah Fatima Thompson, 22, who was arrested on the same charges Tuesday afternoon.
Their charges include:
▪ Disorderly conduct by injury to a statue (Class II misdemeanor).
▪ Damage to real property (statue as a fixture (Class I misdemeanor).
▪ 14-288.2(c) Participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class H felony).
▪ 14-288.2(e) inciting others to riot where there is property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class F felony).
