After everything Cassidy testified to ...

... like Trump knowing the mob was armed, and all of the other damning things she recounted, what is the GOP focused on? Whether Chubsie-ubsie could manipulate his lard-ass to be able to reach into the front of the vehicle.

And how this pretzel logic would impact Cassidy's credibility is a total mystery, given that she was merely repeating what she'd been told by others.

That means that if the information is untrue, it's the credibility of those who relayed it that is in question, not the credibility of the person who repeated it.

It seems pretty obvious that Cassidy's testimony is unimpeachable, in light of the fact that this trivial BS is what Republicans are ranting about - while not even addressing any other aspect of what she had to say under oath.

Sometimes it's better to stay silent and be thought a fool - you know the rest. Apparently the GOP doesn't.

Best marketing pitch of the J-6 hearings ...

"But wait, there's more ..."

Karma is a Democrat

To say things are not going well for the GOP right now would undoubtedly be the understatement of the century.

The GOP-led war on women's reproductive rights has resulted in a SCOTUS decision that is so egregious, they just may have handed the Democrats the midterms on that proverbial silver platter.

Never known for their ability to read the writing on the wall, red-state Republicans doubled-down with draconian laws that even the most rabid pro-lifers strenuously object to - like no exceptions for rape and incest.

The January 6 Select Committee continues to expose not only the corruption, depravity, and guilt of Donald Trump in orchestrating a violent insurrection aimed at destroying democracy, but the cowardice of the ass-kissers who encouraged and enabled him.

People like Ron Johnson can't get their stories straight, and RWNJs like Taylor-Greene and Boebert continue to be addle-brained GOP spokes-people whose only real claim-to-fame is being punchlines to every late night TV show monologue.

Trump is still whining like a shit-covered toddler who needs a diaper change (which he probably does), Meadows and Cipillone are still hiding like cockroaches under a tenement sink, and Giuliani is now in you gotta be fucking kiddin' me territory that has rendered his leaking hair dye episode as the high point of his career.

Yes, Karma is a Bitch. But she's more than that - apparently she's a Democratic bitch, ready to kick ass and take names. And her timing is perfect.

"I have nothing to hide ...

... I just don't want the January 6 Committee looking into all of the nothing I'm not hiding."

I think that sums it up.

Just to rattle TFG's cage ...

... I'd love for the WH housekeeping manager to send Trump a bill for one broken plate and the cleaning supplies used to remove ketchup stains off the dining room wall.

Imagine Trump's reaction when, in the midst of all the legal and political shit he's facing, he gets an invoice saying:

"Unless we receive a certified check in the amount of $28.47 within thirty (30) business days, we will have no choice but to forward your unpaid account to our collections agency, at which time interest and other penalties may be added to the outstanding amount."

Being petty isn't the best revenge - but in certain circumstances, it can be oh-so-entertaining revenge.

If only ...

If only they'd let Trump have his way and taken him to the Capitol, he would have been televised live leading an angry, armed mob into the building.

There would then be no need to connect-the-dots after the fact tying him directly to the violence he'd incited, no need to debate whether he was aware of what he'd unleashed, and no question about his criminal intent.

He might have even taken advantage of a few photo-ops, like posing next to the gallows while the crowd shouted "Hang Mike Pence!", or shitting on the floor alongside his fellow rioters.

Who's Sorry Now?

I can't help wondering how many Republicans haven't had a decent night's sleep in months, especially since the J-6 hearings began.

Is tomorrow the day my name comes up? Who are these witnesses coming forward with information - and are they talking about me? If so, what are they saying?

The stress must be overwhelming - along with the regrets.

Why did I let myself get caught-up in this shit-storm? Why didn't I just keep my head down, and stay out of it? Why did I risk my political career, and perhaps a prison sentence, to be a 'player', 'one of the guys'?

And then there's the biggest question of all:

How did I not know that any plot concocted by a failed businessman, lying narcissist, fake billionaire, corrupt, orange-faced buffoon like Donald Trump was going to fail spectacularly?

It's not like the writing wasn't on the wall, folks.

While Trump may be the dumbest schemer in the GOP, it's not like he didn't have competition for the title.

I live hundreds of miles from D.C. - but I can smell the flop-sweat from here.

Who?

There have always been a myriad of reasons why a woman would choose to terminate a pregnancy.

But there is now another glaringly obvious reason that might prompt an American woman to choose not to bring a child into the world - and that is because of the world that the GOP has created.

Who wants to raise a child in a country overrun with racists and bigots? Who wants to raise a child in a nation that elects the stupid and the downright insane to govern them?

Who wants to bring a child into a world where, even if they survive a school massacre by a crazed gunman, might not survive a world that climate change deniers will eventually render uninhabitable?

Who wants to give birth to a female child who comes into the world as a second-class citizen, with no rights over her own body?

Who wants to raise an American citizen who is subject to having their rights taken away by a SCOTUS comprised of religious whack-jobs and drunken sex offenders?

Who wants to bring a child into a country where a POTUS can attempt to overthrow the government - and is still free to try it again?

At the same time the GOP tries to make abortion illegal, they are demonstrating why it might be a preferable option to giving birth.

Owning the libs? Seriously?

For those who think "owning the libs" is what Republicans are thinking about right now re overturning Roe, guess again.

Show me the Republican who's willing to watch their twelve-year-old daughter carry her drunken grandfather's baby to term - because it will "own the libs".

Show me the Republican who's happy to see a wife, a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter give birth to a rapist's child - because it will "own the libs".

Show me the Republican family who's perfectly okay with mom dying because she can't terminate an ectopic pregnancy that will kill her - because it will "own the libs".

I understand that Republican voters aren't the sharpest knives in the kitchen drawer - but assuming that "owning the libs" is uppermost in their minds right now is beyond ludicrous.

We here have often discussed how Republicans don't care about an issue until it affects them personally.

Well, guess what? THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT AFFECTS THEM PERSONALLY.

This isn't about prayer in school, or taking a knee on a football field. This is about women - ALL WOMEN, Republican, Democratic, whatever - having their rights taken away.

So let's just STFU about "owning the libs" being a valid point of discussion - because it's not. The only purpose it serves is to undermine the importance of the issue-at-hand, as though women's rights were "just another trivial thing" that will give the GOP the last laugh.

In case some of you have missed it - no one is laughing.

"A group of perjurers ...

... including a shit-faced drunken frat-boy and a submissive handmaiden all walk into the Supreme Court ...

The punchline is obvious - and it's NOT funny.
