China brings back anal swab testing for COVID two weeks before Winter Olympics (NY Post)
China has brought back its undignified anal Covid swabs just two weeks before the Beijing Winter Olympics begin.
The Communist regime claims the virus test which involves inserting a 5cm long saline-soaked swab up a patients bum and rotating it is more accurate than other on-the-spot virus tests.
Chinese newspaper The Beijing News said at least 27 people underwent the anal swab tests at an apartment building in Beijing where a 26-year-old woman had caught Omicron the citys first recorded case of the variant.

Sparks! - Don Kirshner's Rock Concert (1974) and on Saturday Night Live (1982)
Always have loved these guys. This TV appearance on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert was, I believe, their TV debut in the States and it was certainly the one that made me a fan. It's in two parts. And don't miss the intro. If you have Peacock, see their Saturday Night Live debut hosted by Danny DeVito in 1982. They blew DeVito's mind. Be sure to see the movie about Sparks, "The Sparks Brothers," that came out last year. It's wonderful!!
If I was hosting SNL, they'd be my musical guest. They need to be back on there.

And finally, here's the trailer for The Sparks Brothers
Just rejoined WW (Weight Watchers) today
I lost 120 pounds on it when I was 20. I later worked for them. But now, because of my age and other reasons, I needed a different approach so I'm trying this again.
Anyone on the program now want to discuss it?
Blast from the past: An Olbermann Worst Persons ...
Don't know when this is, but it's typically brilliant (and also very funny) ...
Fred Parris of The Five Satins, creator of doo-wop classic 'In the Still of the Night,' dead at 85
Fred Parris, who was a love-struck 19-year-old missing his fiancée while serving in the Army when he wrote one of pop musics most enduring songs, the wistful doo-wop ballad commonly known as In the Still of the Night, and recorded it with his group the Five Satins in 1956, died on Jan. 13 in New Haven, Conn. He was 85.
His current group, Fred Parris and the Five Satins, posted news of his death on its Facebook page, saying only that he had died after a short illness.

And the song (remixed in glorious stereo)
And the group in later years, still sounding great:
The Prisoner
This is my favorite series of all time. Patrick McGoohan was tremendous (and he didn't win an Emmy for it). The locale only, near Wales, only adds to the mystery of the series. Fans still talk about the meaning of the show. Here is the first episode. I also added an interview McGoohan did where he talked about the show, supposedly the only time he did. As Number Six and other Village residents often say, "Be seeing you."
Complete Hillary Clinton interview with Howard Stern from 2019
I know people have posted clips but here is the entire interview. Why post it? I'm not a Stern fan at all, but I thought his questions were great and her answers were very down-to-earth. The interview was very revealing. I wish she'd done this in 2016.

The amazing guitar work of Dave Edmonds in Love Sculpture
These two tracks knock me out, especially the second. One of the rock's most underappreciated guitarists.
Jerry Lee Lewis "Great Balls of Fire" (in stereo!)
Yes, this was not originally released in stereo, but the mix here really adds to the song. Had the pleasure of seeing him play live several times. What an incredible entertainer. And this is one of the greatest songs in rock history. Turn this thing way way up!!
