Fox News is playing games with its viewers

There's a great piece on Media Matters about how Fox has people like Shep Smith to make it appear "fair and balanced." It's all a sham, as is this railing against Trump for barking at John McCain. And that's all Fox is ... it's a piece of crap disguised as a news source. They want their viewers to think they are sincere, but remember that the face of Fox is idiots like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and faux judge Jeannine Pirro.

And this bluster that they'll get rid of Pirro? I don't believe it for a second.

Does Al Franken have any kind of a chance of coming back?

I'm still fuming over the whole Al Franken thing. I think he got railroaded unjustly. Yes, the USO pics sucked, but he admitted it and profusely apologized. I'd never support Kirsten Gillibrand because of her actions. Given her candidacy for president, she used that to boost her standing nationally.

That said, I would love to see Al come back. We need him. If he'd run against Trump he'd win. He'd be better than Beto. Maybe Biden will pick him for a running mate. That'd be fantastic.

Any thoughts?

Favorite Trump news podcasts

I have two favorites. One is Mueller She Wrote, which is somewhat light-hearted, but has great interviews. The other is Skullduggery, co-hosted by Michael Isikoff, co-author of "Russian Roulette," which is a great journalism podcast. Another good one, though one I only tune into for certain guests, is David Axelrod's "The Axe Files." I also occasionally catch up on some of the MSNBC shows now that they're all podcasts.

Anyone have any other recommendations?

Hillary Clinton should not go away

I've seen it argued on social media every time Hillary makes any kind of a statement that she should, for the benefit of the party and the country, just go away. I strongly disagree. We need her voice. She's a significant American leader as well as a great female political voice. She doesn't seem like she's intimidated by what happened in 2016 and I'm glad. That said, I think her recent comments about Bill and Monica weren't great moments in her career, but hey, nobody's perfect.

How would Repugs reacted if Trump had lost?

OK, I get it. We lost. To the victor goes the spoils. (That doesn't mean we have to accept it.)

But just for fun, I started trying to think about what crazy things the 'pugs would done, said or believed (conspiracy theories) if Hillary had won.

For starters, it would have been Obama's fault. That would be a no-brainer.

And, of course, it would have been because of millions of non-existent illegal voters.

Breitbart is scum

I hold Breitbart (I call it not-so-Brightbart) and TMZ at about the same scummy level. Both are sleaze mongers of the worst order. So while it doesn't surprise me they care more about Donald Drumpf than a female reporter, I'm not going to lose sleep over this. I hope Fields gets a job with a real news organization that isn't owned by Rupert Murdoch.

And I have to wonder how they would have reacted had this been a male reporter.
