... as illustrated by Douglas Adams in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:
Zaphod burst out in annoyance: "Who are they Trillian?"
Trillian span her seat round to face him and shrugged.
"Just a couple of guys we seem to have picked up in open space," she said. "Section ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha."
"Yeah, well that's a very sweet thought Trillian," complained Zaphod, "but do you really think it's wise under the circumstances?
(snip)
"Zaphod," she said patiently, "they were floating unprotected in open space ... you wouldn't want them to have died would you?"
"Well, you know ... no. Not as such, but ..."
"Not as such? Not die as such? But?" Trillian cocked her head on one side.
"Well, maybe someone else might have picked them up later."
"A second later and they would have been dead."
"Yeah, so if you'd taken the trouble to think about the problem a bit longer it would have gone away."
What will Gordon Sondland do? What will he say? What are his options & their probable consequences?
Predictions, anyone?
"Using Latin, per se, is not something I normally do."
I just heard that on MSNBC in connection with "quid pro quo" vs. "extortion." I'm not sure who said it but he didn't appear to be joking.
"Per se" is Latin.
I've begun thinking of a certain U.S. Representative as the "Whiny Weasel". Can you guess who?
Asymptote
An asymptote is something that you can always get closer to but can never reach, like an endless succession of "half the distance to the goal" penalties in football, or like seeing Trump's tax returns.
Matt Gaetz is NOT a Florida Congressman.
As a South Floridian I must protest the reference to Gaetz as "Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Florida)." His district is within an area referred to by many as the "Florida Panhandle" but I prefer to call it "Virtual Alabama." Therefore he should henceforth be referred to as "Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Virtual Alabama)."
"Some wondered if Trump had orchestrated the departure of (Shepard Smith of Fox News)..."

Question: Have rival presidential candidates ever become running mates after the primaries?
I honestly don't know and I haven't had any success researching it. Has a presidential candidate who lost the nomination in the primaries ever become the winner's vice presidential nominee? If not, why not?
Undecided but narrowed down.
"Richard Ketay" is an anagram for "a dirty hacker."
