"I was signing my slip," Arnold told CNN affiliate WJAR. "I didn't really pay attention to it yet, and then I just happened to read it and I saw it in the corner and I was like, 'Wow,' and my heart just dropped."
The receipt from All Stars Bar & Grill read "fatty" in the place intended for the customer's name. Arnold shared a photo of the receipt on Facebook and outrage over this incident began to spread on social media.
"[The server] legit ID'ed me as 'fatty,' then he wouldn't admit it. They lost mine and my friends business," the 24-year-old stated in his post.
When Tony Ambrosio, the owner of the restaurant, found out about the incident he was was quick to apologize. And he fired the server in question.
"We sincerely apologize for your negative experience last night. It was very unprofessional to say the least. We take full accountability for what occurred and would like to make it up to you," Ambrosio posted in the comments of Arnold's Facebook photo.
The server turned out to be Ambrosio's son, not only is he out of a job, but he is also no longer allowed on the restaurant's property.

After son says his surgery scar made him feel like a monster, dad gets matching tattoo scar
A father has gone to extraordinary lengths to show his love and support for his sick young son by getting a tattoo on his head matching a scar the boy bears from brain surgery.
Gabriel Marshall of Kansas, eight, was diagnosed last year with an anaplastic astrocytoma, a type of malignant brain tumor, the treatment for which was surgery.
While the surgery didn't get all of the tumor out, it has been nine months since he stopped treatment and is currently stable.
However, after the surgery, Gabriel's father Josh, 28, became concerned about how the scar left behind on his son's head from the surgery was affecting his self-confidence.
In fact, the little boy told his dad that he felt like a 'monster' with the scar. A fact that simply broke his father's heart.
So, to help his son feel normal, Josh came up with the idea of getting a tattoo on his head to look identical to his son's cancer scar.
'I told him if people wanted to stare, they could stare at both of us,' the doting dad told BuzzFeed.
The moving gesture came to wide attention after Josh entered the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s #BestBaldDad competition in honor of Father's Day.

(NEWSER) – Derrick Deanda saw a van on its side after a rollover crash in Elk Grove, California, broke windows to free the father and three kids trapped inside, and then ... got billed $143. "I pulled up right as it happened," Deanda recalls to CBS Sacramento of the September 2015 incident. "There was a guy standing inside the van, because it was on its side, holding a 2 year-old infant." After paramedics arrived, they briefly checked over Deanda, who had a small cut from breaking the glass, checking his pulse and giving him a bottle of water. That's why, weeks after the crash, he got a bill in the mail for a "first-responder fee."
"We’re obligated to provide the same level of service, the same billing, the same everything, for every patient we encounter," explains deputy fire chief Mike McLaughlin. "I asked the paramedics for a bottle of water to clean my hand off because I had a small scrape on my hand they ask me questions and they consider that an assessment on me," Deanda wrote on Facebook, per the Daily Mail. McLaughlin says the fire department wants to "make it right" and waive the fee, but that hasn't happened yet, and Deanda plans to formally appeal. He also says the fee sends the wrong message: "Why would I want to stop to help somebody if I’m going to get a bill for $150?" The family members he helped are all OK.

The doorman at the restaurant told him that he wouldn't be allowed into the restaurant because his pants were 'too street.'
Although the restaurant does have an evening dress code, Jackson doesn't believe that was the reason he was kicked out.
Jackson claims he was wearing $250 designer wool trousers and he noticed other customers wearing yoga pants, baggy cargo shorts, and baseball caps.
'Their dress code says no athletic wear,' Jackson told NBC Chicago, donning a bow tie, a vest, and the same pair of wool pants he wore the night of the incident. 'At no point in time will you find me doing anything athletic in a pair of wool pants.'

Parlor Pizza Bar said in a statement it enforces what it calls an evening dress code every day beginning at 5 p.m., stating “athletic wear is prohibited under our policy and unfortunately, the gentleman in question was wearing sweatpants.”
But Jackson said the pants he was wearing were actually tailored wool pants by designer Vince, valued at $250. He also claimed that as he and his wife were leaving, they noticed other patrons dressed far more casually.
“Saw people in yoga pants, baggy cargo shorts, baseball caps, and at that point in time we decided that we wanted to go back and talk to a manager,” Jackson said.
When he was still denied entry, Jackson said he began to believe the issue was less about dress code and more about race.
“You go from feeling kind of bewildered, to feeling shocked, to feeling embarrassed, and then you start to kind of ask yourself, ‘Did I do something wrong?’ he said. “And then you get angry.”
A spokesperson for Parlor Pizza said the incident was “in no way discrimination,” and noted that the restaurant’s dress code is posted on its website and at the entranceway. They added that security footage showed Jackson was wearing a baseball cap and shirt at the time, which may have contributed to the thinking that the wool pants were sweatpants.

So, about a week or so ago, Patrick Quinn felt trapped.
He was sitting on the couch, afraid to move — lest he woke up Maxton, his 3-week-old son who was sound asleep on his lap.
Then he spotted a bowl of Cheerios by the couch. His older son had left it there because he never puts anything away.
Hmm, thought Quinn, let’s see if I can get one to balance on Maxton’s nose. It worked.
Hmm, let me see if I can get two.
“I’d take a picture but then I’d start laughing and it’d topple over,” Quinn told CNN. “So I’d start again, take a picture and it’d topple over. The highest I got to is five.”
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the Cheerio Challenge was born.

Trump attempts to reach out to African Americans
Donald Trump altered his campaign's theme Saturday while attempting to reach out to African American voters.
The GOP's presumptive nominee says he "revised" the "Make America great again" theme to "Make America safe again" in the wake of last week's shooting in Orlando.
"We want to do it for everybody," Trump said at a rally in Las Vegas. "We want to do it for African Americans."
African American youth have a 59 percent rate of unemployment and we're letting people pour into our country. We have no idea who the hell they are," Trump said.

Hunter campaign reports filed several weeks back listed $1,300 spent with Ki’s restaurant in Cardiff-by-the-Sea in 2015 and early 2016 — 21 separate transactions that seemed far afield from his East County base.
This week, in following up on an ongoing Federal Election Commission review of Hunter’s campaign accounts, U-T Watchdog came up with a possible explanation for the charges.
Ki’s provides school lunch delivery to Christian Unified Schools, where Hunter’s three children attend. And on the schools’ website, visitors who click "lunch info and menu" are taken to a Ki’s fact sheet.

The campaign also spent $208 on Aug. 20, 2015, at Educational Outfitters, which provides uniforms to families of Christian Unified. The expense was listed as "gift certificate for donation." That expense is not among those so far reported as reimbursed by Hunter to the campaign.

The San Diego Union-Tribune previously reported that the campaign spent $297 on 16 trips to Jack in the Box — not the typical campaign wining and dining. The committee also reported spending $216 on "food and beverages" at a jewelry store in Italy, which told the U-T it has no food offerings.
The campaign also spent money at Disneyland — $229 at the Star Trader shop in Tomorrowland for "food/beverages." A spokesman for the park told the Union-Tribune the only edible items the store sells are Pez candy and a Star Wars-themed Rice Krispies treat.

Hunter’s staff has declined to discuss specific expenses, so there's no way to know yet whether the expenses are school lunches.
The Ki’s charges by Hunter’s campaign were all during the school year, and none during the summer. The most recent ones reported were Feb. 26 and March 21 of this year, for $68.90 and $45.50.
The restaurant allows parents to load up an account ahead of time, or pay by the meal. The Hunter campaign transactions in 2015 ranged from $9.40 on Sept. 24 to $336.15 on April 15.
In Congress in 2010, Hunter opposed legislation that would increase spending on school lunch programs for the poor, saying “ it spends too much and expands the influence of government.”

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, has already reimbursed his campaign account for $12,000 of expenses he identified as personal or mistaken, including video games, oral surgery, private school tuition, a garage door and unspecified items at a Coronado surf shop.
That may not be the end of it.
An ongoing review by The San Diego Union-Tribune shows thousands of dollars of expenses such as groceries and gas fill-ups that could well be legitimate campaign expenses — but also have a lot in common with the expenses of a typical suburban family.
Unlike with the earlier expenses, Hunter’s office has declined to explain or justify any of the costs publicly, so it’s hard to know the true nature of the spending. The campaign has a deadline of this coming Monday to respond to the Federal Election Commission’s initial inquiry about video game and school tuition expenses.
There were 106 fill-ups at gas stations, totaling $5,660. There were 16 trips to Jack in the Box totaling $297.
No other member of the delegation showed any disbursement to a gas station or a fast-food joint.
Forty times, Hunter’s campaign made a trip to Albertson’s, Trader Joe’s or another grocery store, spending $6,819 total. The only other local member who spent campaign money at grocery stores was Susan Davis, D-San Diego, who made seven disbursements totaling $675.

seventeen years ago, former USC and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Pat Haden joined the board of an old, little-known charitable foundation that helps needy young people get an education.
The George Henry Mayr Foundation, established in 1949, has no office of its own, no full-time staff and no website. Its founder and namesake wanted it to be a thrifty operation that gave as much scholarship money as possible to California educational institutions.
Under Haden's leadership as board chairman, however, the $25-million foundation became a lucrative source of income for him and two of his family members -- even as its scholarship spending plunged to a three-decade low and the size of its endowment stagnated, a Times investigation has found.
Haden, his daughter and sister-in-law together collected about $2.4 million from the foundation for part-time roles involving as little as one hour of work per week, according to the foundation’s federal tax returns for 1999 to 2014, the most recent year available.
