A guy calls me a genius and I’m going to renounce?” Trump said about Putin

Inside Trump’s financial ties to Russia and his unusual flattery of Vladimir Putin

The overwhelming consensus among American political and national security leaders has held that Putin is a pariah who disregards human rights and has violated international norms in seeking to regain influence and territory in the former Soviet bloc. In 2012, one year before Trump brought his beauty pageant to Moscow, then-Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney called Russia the United States’ top geopolitical threat — an assessment that has only gained currency since then.

The dynamic illustrates the extent to which Trump’s worldview has been formed through the lens of commerce rather than the think tanks, government deliberations and international diplomatic conferences that typically shape the foreign policy positions of presidential candidates.

It also reflects Trump’s willingness to see other world leaders through his own personal connections. In a Republican Party in which an ability to stand up to Putin has been seen as a test of toughness, Trump’s relationship with the Russian leader is instead one of mutual flattery. Putin said in December that Trump was a “colorful and talented” person, a compliment that Trump said at the time was an “honor.”

The back-and-forth has continued. In a rally Thursday night, Trump cited those comments as the reason he will not reject the Russian leader. “A guy calls me a genius and I’m going to renounce?” Trump said. “I’m not going to renounce him.” On Friday in St. Petersburg, Putin again called Trump a “colorful person” and said he welcomed Trump’s proposal for a “full-scale resumption” of U.S.-Russian ties.

Alabama county refuses to lower flag to honor Orlando shooting victims

Officials in an Alabama county refused to lower flags to half-staff to honor the victims of the Orlando mass shooting this week even after President Barack Obama and Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley ordered flags to be lowered.

Citing the U.S. Flag Code, Baldwin County Commissioner Tucker Dorsey told CNN's Erin Burnett on "OutFront" Friday that while he is "certainly heartbroken in the face of tragedy," the code states that the flag should only be lowered "for instances where there are the passing of individuals who have given significant distinguished service to our country."
Dorsey added that the code states that the flag is to be lowered on Memorial Day and to commemorate the deaths of government officials.

In a Facebook post published Tuesday, Dorsey wrote that Baldwin County also didn't lower the flags after the Paris terror attacks in November and the shooting in San Bernardino, California, in December by a married couple who pledged allegiance to ISIS.

The scene outside a Donald Trump campaign rally in Dallas, Texas became violent and left a photojournalist bloodied after he was hit in the head with a rock.

Dallas Advocate photographer Danny Fulgencio was struck by a rock thrown by an anti-Trump protester.

Fulgencio was treated by medics and returned to work after 15 minutes with a large bandage on his head, according to Scott Gordon of NBC’s Dallas affiliate. Fulgencio is reportedly OK.

Gordon later tweeted that the rock thrower was “never caught.” He also stated he did not know who threw the projectile and whether it came from Trump supporters or protesters.

Monitor lizard blocks door of house in Thailand

In the clip, the white dog can be heard barking in terror, while a man and woman talk in the background.
According to a translation by Coconuts Bangkok, the man says:, ‘Hia (a Thai term for the lizards) is in our house. It’s f**king huge!’

A woman then offers this helpful suggestion: ‘They say if you throw a coin at it, it will go away! It’s like giving the lizard luck and fortune!’ to which the man responds: ‘You should stand next to it, sister. You’re the same size.’

Then the lizard slaps its tail against the table and everyone freaks out.

In a later interview with Coconuts, Attanai said the lizard was actually a frequent visitor to the house and the family had named it Selena, after their favourite pop star Selena Gomez. As if this story couldn’t get more surreal.

Donald Trump calls her ‘Crooked Hillary,’ but his fans just say ‘b----’

GREENSBORO, N.C. — As thousands of Donald Trump supporters streamed out of an evening rally here this week, they walked past a handful of vendors from Ohio selling simple white T-shirts featuring Hillary Clinton, Monica Lewinsky and a vulgar joke. The back of the shirts read: “TRUMP THAT B----!”

One woman laughed and said to the man with her: “You have to get one!” A group of four middle-aged women pulled out their wallets and tried to bargain the vendors down from $20. One of the vendors shouted again and again: “Trump that b----! Trump that b----!” A guy walking past responded: “That’s right!”

“I’m a pretty blunt person, so it’s kind of how I feel about things,” said Amanda Feather, a 35-year-old mother of six who is a property manager in Asheboro, N.C., and bought one of the T-shirts before attending the rally with her husband and two young daughters. “I think coming from Trump it would probably be inappropriate. From a voter’s point of view, I think we have the right. .?.?. If that’s how we feel, we should have the right to say it. And I would tell it to her face if she walked up. That’s how I feel about her.”
______

But many of his fans have chosen a different nickname for her — one starting with a “b” and rhyming with “witch.”

The word is often shouted from the audience as Trump attacks her, murmured in pre-rally conversations and typed on Twitter. It appears on a popular button sold by vendors at many rallies: “Life’s a b----, don’t vote for one.” And, most prominently, it is on those white T-shirts, created by the Ohio-based Street Talk Tees and sold at nearly all of Trump’s rallies.

In an interview last month, Trump said he was unaware that his fans were using the word.
