VA Republican Party campaign flyers depicting Black male candidates tied in ropes

"The Republican Party of Virginia is sending out campaign flyers depicting Black male candidates tied in ropes, suspended in air & surrounded by fire. This disgusting act of INTIMIDATION is incredibly dangerous & has no place in American politics!” --Atty. Benjamin Crump

I meet weekly with a group of 12 ... 3 had Covid deaths of family or friends.

One of the 3 has lost 3 siblings during the pandemic — a sister this week (unvacced); another lost an aunt in FL (unvacced) and the other lost the father of a childhood friend (vac status unknown).

This is a diverse group demographically and geographically. Those dead are black, white and Hispanic.

I was astonished to hear of so many from this small circle in such a short time since last week.

CBS this morning: "Biden's Afghan Crisis"

Major Garrett (major POS 💩 actually) practically frothing at the mouth:

“Two things happened to the President this week. His use of experience: ‘I am the most experienced, I can handle this, I’ve seen these things before, I know how to manage…’ — that has been deeply damaged. 🙄

Also, his competence—which was reinforced by the distribution of the vaccine in the early days of his administration—has been severely undermined. And don’t take my word for it.

I talk to Democrats on Capitol Hill. (Hmmm wonder who … ) They believe this has happened. And once those cracks in that veneer are there they are very hard to repair.

So the president who says ‘I’m experienced. I’ve been Afghanistan so many times’ — didn’t predict, didn’t foresee, didn’t plan for this kind of scenario when many people inside and outside of the administration were at least warning it was possible ….

And the country has to wrap its head around this … right now, in order for Americans to leave Afghanistan they can only do so with the permission and the sufferance of the Taliban. 🙄

Question(?) by Tony Dicopola; “So the president has yet to acknowledge any error of judgment when it comes to this pullout in Afghanistan… 🙄

Garrett: “The president does one thing over and over and over. ‘I made a bold decision…an American president was going to make that decision. I’m the one who made it.’ Fair enough. It’s a tough decision. You own every consequence of every decision.

And I’ve covered a lot of Presidents. Unexpected and tragic things happen and you have to be prepared on the fly to deal with them. But when you circle a date on the calendar in a battle space like Afghanistan you own every worst-case scenario. If you don’t plan for them you’ll be doubly condemned by history for not planning adequately for it.”

Biden and Pelosi are case studies for the argument against term limits.

Biden’s experience makes him especially adept at wading through the DC cesspool.

Kudos to them both.

America is blessed to have them.
