Have any of DU's travelers had experience with Eatwith?

I have seen it described as the Airbnb of food. https://www.eatwith.com/?c=USD

We are going to Barcelona in September and I was considering surprising my wife (who loves to cook) with one of the local Market Tour & Catalan Cooking experiences.

Just wondered if any of you had been to any of the Eatwith experiences, and what you thought of it.

Submit photos in this thread, please.

Broad interpretations of "Places we eat" is not restricted to particular venues, such as restaurants and cafes. I apologize for not making this clear in the Submissions thread. Animals as subjects are allowed.

ALL DUers ARE WELCOME TO ENTER THIS CONTEST.

If you win the May contest, you must agree to host the next monthly contest (which will run in July, because the Spring contest runs in June) or find someone who will agree to do it for you.

I will close submissions should we get 30 entries before the 24th.

EDIT: I'm hoping that we have enough submissions by 5/24 to open it up for prelims on 5/25 and final on 5/27.

CONTEST LICENSE:

An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

The Myth of the Lost Cause and Civil War History

The Myth of the Lost Cause and Civil War History
by Gary W. Gallagher (Editor),? Alan T. Nolan (Editor)
October 18, 2010

Just now working my way through this. A book combining essays from various authors, each addressing a subset of the Lost Cause Myth. It has been very interesting reading, so far. Here is the publishers blurb:

Was the Confederacy doomed from the start in its struggle against the superior might of the Union? Did its forces fight heroically against all odds for the cause of states’ rights? In reality, these suggestions are an elaborate and intentional effort on the part of Southerners to rationalize the secession and the war itself. Unfortunately, skillful propagandists have been so successful in promoting this romanticized view that the Lost Cause has assumed a life of its own. Misrepresenting the war’s true origins and its actual course, the myth of the Lost Cause distorts our national memory. In The Myth of the Lost Cause and Civil War History, nine historians describe and analyze the Lost Cause, identifying ways in which it falsifies history―creating a volume that makes a significant contribution to Civil War historiography.

Photos from the past month.

Some of my favorite terrain around here. I've posted shots of this area before, but these are new.
Ochre Cliffs, Rockville, California

Not sure what the story is behind this, but it seems to be a light. Anyway, it's on the Capitol Hill grounds.
