“Worst Regards”–Senate Dems Publish Hate Mail (Colorado, re gun laws)

"Yesterday, we received a link to a web page put up by the Colorado Senate Majority Office. Titled "Worst Regards," it's a list of hateful and threatening emails that Colorado Democratic legislators have received during the debate over gun safety legislation at the state capitol. These are apparently not the emails that resulted in felony charges being filed against two people, but a large number of other such messages that, for whatever reason, did not rise to the level of investigation and charges.


I am going to stick a knife up your c*** and tear your heart out through there.

Safe to say, though, these aren't for the faint of heart, and reader discretion is advised. It's useful to remember that the legislators who received this hate mail didn't have a choice but to receive it. At best, it's another "unintended consequence" of the irrational and frequently untruthful campaign against Democrats over the gun safety bills that were signed into law last month–at least we hope it was not intended."

El Paso County’s Curious MLK Tribute

Around the country today, there have been tributes to the late civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated 45 years ago today in Memphis, Tennessee. While Dr. King's birthday each January is commemorated as a national holiday, April 4th, especially among civil rights activists and students of this period of American history, is a day with equally profound significance.

But not in arch-conservative El Paso County, Colorado, where a different commemoration was observed today.

Now folks, it should be noted that tonight is the night of the Friends of the NRA's annual fundraiser dinner, which is what prompted the El Paso County commissioners to approve this resolution designating today "Friends of NRA Day." At tonight's NRA fundraiser auction, a number of guns will be available, including (see right) a .30-06 bolt action rifle.

And again, we can't ascribe anything more than coincidence to the fact that Martin Luther King was killed by a .30-06 rifle.

Tomorrow, April 3, President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper will be promoting gun control at the Police Academy in Denver beginning at 2:30 pm. We ask all Second Amendment supporters to join the NRA in protesting this event, and to stand and fight for the Second Amendment.

Although this event is closed to the public, we are asking that you attend and protest this event in Denver and respectfully let President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper know that you are strongly opposed to their anti-gun agenda.
