President Obama's 194 accomplishments

What has Obama Done? Here Are 194 Accomplishments! With Citations!

If you're one of those who thinks President Obama is a "disappointment," my condolences for not getting your unicorn. And it's time to grow up, get over it. We have four months to go before an election that will feature more political ads than you have ever seen before in your life. We're not just having to beat Willard Romney; we also have to beat Citizens United. There will be TWO choices for president. You can either work for Obama and every other Democrat (yes, including Blue Dogs), or you can sit back and watch Willard Romney complete the job of taking apart the social fabric of the country that was begun by Ronald Reagan.

Freeport City Council votes to call on Romney to help save 170 jobs from being outsourced from Bain-owned Freeport plant

Online Staff Report

FREEPORT, Ill. — The Freeport City Council passed a resolution Monday, July 16, urging former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, to take a stand for the 170 American workers facing outsourcing by Bain Capital-owned Sensata Technologies in Freeport. The resolution passed unanimously in an 8-0 vote.

Sensata Technologies, which was created by Bain Capital in 2006, develops, manufactures, and sells sensors and controls for major auto manufacturers such as Ford and General Motors.

Despite rising profits, the company plans to institute the final layoffs in December. The workers are training their Chinese replacements, who have been flown to Illinois by the company.

In recent weeks, Sensata workers have kept the pressure on Romney with a signed letter to the campaign, frequent protests outside the plant, and a community meeting to educate Freeport residents about the impending layoffs.

In addition to the support workers have received from community, faith and labor groups, U.S. Reps. Don Manzullo, R-Ill., and Bobby Schilling, R-Ill., recently sent a letter to Sensata CEO Thomas Wroe Jr. urging the company to keep the jobs in Freeport.

“We’re grateful to the city council for standing with us in this fight to save our jobs,” said Cheryl Randecker, who has worked at the plant for 33 years. “It’s not just our jobs on the line, but also the future of our community. We hope Romney will join us in this fight, and make it clear that he stands with American workers — not companies like Bain that want to ship our jobs overseas.”

Grover Norquist on MEET THE PRESS

Yeah Sure, don't talk about lies! Why is this TRAITOR on anyway. It is because of Norquist's wretched NO TAX Pledge document we are in this mess (well one of the reasons).

30 Pictures Of President Obama's Rain-Soaked Campaign Speech

At a stop today in Glen Allen, Virginia, Obama's campaign rally was threatened by heavy rain storms, but the President and his supporters braved the downpour — providing an awesome photo opportunity for the Obama campaign. Thanks to @NYCSouthpaw for the tip.

I AGREE WITH THOM HARTMANN about Republicans And Fox News Engaging In ‘Treason’

Thom Hartmann Says Republicans And Fox News Engaging In ‘Treason’

Inauguration Day meeting of GOP lawmakers, along with pollster Frank Luntz and former Speaker Newt Gingrich, detailed in Robert Draper‘s Do Not Ask What Good We Do. Liberal radio and TV host Thom Hartmann makes the case that the Republicans (and Fox News, by virtue of Luntz’s involvement) are guilty of “treason, or sedition, or whatever it was,” and makes a nice smoking-gun catch from Friday’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

In his book Do Not Ask What Good We Do, author Robert Draper details a meeting which took place the night of President Obama’s inauguration, in which Republican Congressional leaders made a pact to “show united and unyielding opposition to the president’s economic policies” in order to regain power, and eventually take the White House in 2012. The facts surrounding this meeting are not in doubt; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he was “glad and honored to be part of it.”

they conspired to block everything. If you need a smoking gun, check their record, since that meeting, of voting against things that were their own ideas just because President Obama decided to support them. Whether this amounts to “treason” or “sedition,” as Thom Hartmann suggests, is a matter of semantics that are, I’m sure, intended to be provocative (remember how Rick Perry‘s invocation of the crime set off the outrage grenades).

Can you imagine if, on September 12, 2001, a group of Democrats got together to plot blocking all of George W. Bush‘s policies, no matter what they were?

On Friday’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Dougherty revealed that a Republican Senator, not a staffer, not a strategist, but an actual US Senator, told him that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had issued sickening marching orders to his caucus. Here’s what Dougherty said: I spoke to a Senator earlier this week, and he told me that, a Republican Senator told me that Mitch McConnell has told his conference that ‘We’re not doing anything, we won’t make a single move between now and the election, because any move could be risky, and all of the shit is sliding down on President Obama.’

The Republicans aren’t going to make a single move between now and the election, because anything they do carries with it the “risk” that the economy improves.

Is that “treason?”
