How much is Bill Clinton responsible for the culture today?

An actual question asked by Katy Tur during a straight 1/2 of either blaming Democrats or stating both sided do it.

She also stated Al Franked should retire.

I guess there is a price to pay for hosting Daily MTP.

It took a guest to actually state we have a current President who is accused by 14 different woman and that he stated he can grab them by the pussy and get away with it.

Everybody chill the fuck out

Franken asked for an inquiry, let it play out.

If it was an attempt at humor then not a big issue. Assuming the photo was just part of a joke and he didn't slip his tongue in her mouth then it nothing more than a made up controversy.

If he did it, then he deserves the shit storm. But we don't have enough info yet to make a call. He apologized for what we know has happened. Again, if that was all that happened then it is nothing. But if there is more then we have to deal with the fallout.

My bet, it was nothing more than an attempt at humor, from what we know about Franken he likes to be funny, but he has no history of this type of behavior.

Again, let it play out, if he is not being fully truthful, then he needs to take the punishment.

All the assholes over at Discussionist

Who swarm liberal posters and ban them so you can have your echo chamber.

tRump lies - Surprise!

There is no way he shoots in the seventies for 18 holes in golf. Watch the video, to shoot in the seventies you need a swing similar to Matsuyama. (there are some exceptions but very rare)

Matsuyama has a smooth repeatable swing, compare that to tRump who has anything but a repeatable swing. His fat ass and hips are moving. His practice swings follow one swing path and then he chops at the ball on his actual swing. Not at all uncommon, in fact most golfers have the problem. And most golfers are hackers, and shoot in the high 90s and 100s. Which is what I would guess tRump would shoot if he actually didn't cheat.

Now watch his shot, (at about 1:30 in the video) the ball doesn't show up on the green, watch the guys heads, the ball flies well over the green. So if we give him the benefit of the doubt that he is just off the green in two shots (or one on a par three) he needs to knock the shot close and putt it in for par. But the Donald flies the green, so on his next shot his is likely further from the hole. (if not out of bounds) But watch what happens, they pick up the ball and walk away. Donald likely took a par when in reality he would have got a bogey at best, likely double bogey, and possibly worse.

Look I am a 12 handicapper, which means I shoot in the mid 80s. And I guarantee you I would beat tRump like a drum and he claims to be a low single digit golfer. He couldn't break 90 with all the issues with his swing, and add his temperament and he likely shoots in the low 100s. For example, he just chipped across the green, make him play the next shot and likely he chips back across the green, then another chip, two putts and he scores an 8, not a 4.

So tRump loads his fat ass onto AF1 - Tweets about releasing the JFK tapes - .....

it is almost like he was trying to divert attention from something.

GWB, partying because he is no longer the worst living President

Kelly's compromised phone

Damn it, this is like a cheap mystery novel with a new bombshell daily.

Did he download something? Did someone else in the inner circle download something? (I wouldn't put it past these un American shitheads)

Never has this County seen anything even close to this and it appears the Russians are getting a great return on their investment.

You have a guide on how to act tRump

Unfortunately, you will still fuck it up.

“The president took a deep breath and steeled himself, and went into the first classroom. And what happened next I’ll never forget.

Person after person received an engulfing hug from our commander in chief. He’d say, “Tell me about your son. . . . Tell me about your daughter,” and then hold pictures of the lost beloved as their parents described favorite foods, television shows, and the sound of their laughter. For the younger siblings of those who had passed away—many of them two, three, or four years old, too young to understand it all—the president would grab them and toss them, laughing, up into the air, and then hand them a box of White House M&M’s, which were always kept close at hand. In each room, I saw his eyes water, but he did not break.

And then the entire scene would repeat—for hours. Over and over and over again, through well over a hundred relatives of the fallen, each one equally broken, wrecked by the loss. After each classroom, we would go back into those fluorescent hallways and walk through the names of the coming families, and then the president would dive back in, like a soldier returning to a tour of duty in a worthy but wearing war. We spent what felt like a lifetime in those classrooms, and every single person received the same tender treatment. The same hugs. The same looks, directly in their eyes. The same sincere offer of support and prayer.”

Tom Petty Appreciation Thread

I was in HS when he first hit the national stage. I remember an article on his first tour in the PHX New Times where the reviewer wrote something like, "he looks like the guy in Jr. High that you wanted to punch but then you got to know him and your couldn't help but liking him." Within a couple of years of this release his record company tried to jack up the price of his next release, something like going from a $12 album to a $15 album. He balked and told them he would give them a pile of shit recordings if they didn't back off. I believe he won the fight. He also admitted that he didn't know shit when he had the confederate flag behind the stage on his first tour when the band played Born a Rebel and realized it was wrong.

Another poster put up a thread earlier regarding his XM channel where he would come in and spin records, not his own, but records he liked and influenced him.

All and all a great artist and a great guy.

I must say I was a bit surprised at the NBC Sunday Night Football reaction to tRumps latest

Al Michaels is a RW dude (main play by play/host) and during one of the preseason games I watched he commented, rather dismissively, that here is the obligatory shot of some players kneeling.

So I actually tuned in tonight to see what he would do, turns out he said very little and then turned it over to Chris Collingsworth (color commentator/co host) who actually played the game. Collingsworth suggested tRump apologize for his SOB comment and actually invite some players to the WH and listen to their experiences.
