I taught at Aurora High School and thought at first

It was a Gang Banger until I found out the location of the theater.
My school was a tough intercity school with a cultural diverse population of hispanics, blacks and whites. The area of that theater is accessible to most of denver because its right off the freeway and is state of the art for premiere viewing of films.

I was teaching at that school when Columbine went down and our school went into lock down. Oddly enough Columbine was a mile from a residential center for teenagers with severe to moderate behavioral problems. that I taught at right before I joined that school. Many of our 'kids' went to Columbine on an out patient process and I feared my former students was responsible

I'm blown away by this ........ even though I no longer live there.

George Zimmerman Prosecution May Use TV Interview as Evidence

Source: ABC news

This morning the prosecution entered the tape of the interview into discovery as and could attempt to admit it as evidence in Zimmerman's trial on charges of second degree murder.

Granting the interview will likely haunt Zimmerman, veteran legal analyst and defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh told ABC News. "He has impeached himself publicly, this is going to be a huge problem for him… and the prosecutors must be extremely pleased... He was making inconsistent statements that they can use in a trial against him."

Archaeologists uncover largest ancient dam built by Mayans- With Photos

Recent excavations, sediment coring and mapping by a multi-university team led by the University of Cincinnati at the pre-Columbian city of Tikal, a paramount urban center of the ancient Maya, have identified new landscaping and engineering feats, including the largest ancient dam built by the Maya of Central America.

That dam – constructed from cut stone, rubble and earth – stretched more than 260 feet in length, stood about 33 feet high and held about 20 million gallons of water in a man-made reservoir.

These findings on ancient Maya water and land-use systems at Tikal, located in northern Guatemala, are scheduled to appear this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) in an article titled "Water and Sustainable Land Use at the Ancient Tropical City of Tikal, Guatemala." The research sheds new light on how the Maya conserved and used their natural resources to support a populous, highly complex society for over 1,500 years despite environmental challenges, including periodic drought.

According to UC's Scarborough, "The overall goal of the UC research is to better understand how the ancient Maya supported a population at Tikal of perhaps 60,000 to 80,000 inhabitants and an estimated population of five million in the overall Maya lowlands by AD 700."
He added, "That is a much higher number than is supported by the current environment. So, they managed to sustain a populous, highly complex society for well over 1,500 years in a tropical ecology. Their resource needs were great, but they used only stone-age tools and technology to develop a sophisticated, long-lasting management system in order to thrive."

He’s not actually human himself.” - Luke Skywalker( Mark Hamill) says about Romney

While reminiscing about one of his favorite old-time series, “Zorro,” Hamill went on a political tirade after being asked a lighthearted question by an OnTheRedCarpet.com reporter.
“I knew nothing about Mexican history or anything. But just the idea of a privileged person fighting for the underdog – there’s something very romantic about that,” Hamill said. “I guess it goes back to Robin Hood. People that are fighting for the middle class and for the have-nots. It’s something that we see even playing out in the presidential race.

“And if you don’t vote for Barack Obama, you’re insane,” he added. “[Be]cause without him, I think the middle class will completely disappear. And you look at Romney – and I’m sure he’s a nice guy – but I think he’s like The Thing.

He only imitates human behavior. He’s not actually human himself.”
