Went to facebook with the idea to delete it. Got to looking at some comments from friends. I was looking at one long comment from someone I met in the late 80s..Her last 4 words struck me, so I am going to share them here.:
..........................."Every day is precious"................................................................................
Sometimes we need to see that idea, when we don't really expect to see it. Maybe I won't delete facebook after all.
In your opinion how many Trump voters, would never vote for him again?
This can be from personal experience in talking to them, just an opinion, or research or whatever. I rarely talk to anyone who voted for him. But I know people here have, and there are surveys out there. I honestly do not believe that Trump could ever get 62,000,000 votes again. The last election in Pennsylvania proved many Trumpers have changed their minds. But what do you think? My guess is that Trump has lost at least 15,000,000 of those votes. But I haven't got a clue. What do you think? Thanks for reading this.
Facts to keep in mind.... In thinking that Trump becomes "an authoritarian leader."
1. Trump does not control the media
2. Trump does not control elections..If he did, we would have lost the last 2 special elections. We won. The states control elections, not the federal government
3. Trump does not control the judicial system.
4. Trump does not control Congress. Yes there is a republican majority, but an attempt to take over the government would not be successful in my opinion.
5. A majority of the country does not support him. There would have to be a whole lot of .."I don't care who is the president" for some kind of take over to be successful. Trump has created a very strong opposition.
At least 65 percent would be totally against him abusing any of his power.
6. Many other republican leaders would not support him. (many would, but I think many wouldn't)
7. Any move in that direction would have total and complete democratic party opposition. Trump would have to outlaw the democratic party..impossible..
8. For anything like that to even have a chance, the military would have to be behind him. I think most of our military leaders think he is "nuts" just like the rest of us. I don't think they would follow orders to do such a thing.
9. There is an election coming up in November. Any move, would make that the major issue.
10. I believe he could not get away with it if he tried. He knows there is a whole lot of opposition to him, and so do most of his so called "sane" advisors. Some of those closest to him, would oppose any such move. Those opposing him would think he as totally "lost it" and take steps to stop him..
That is 10. Any other ideas?
"Trump's Lawyer: It's Time to Fire Robert Mueller" headline, could this be done tonight..??

Why tonight?......Might as well take all the payback at once.
Mueller is getting very close. Will Trump do this?
I don't know. But ..Trump's Lawyer saying this, for public consumption...could be a prediction.
There is one "good aspect" of Donald Trump.
His greed, total self-centered attitude and selfishness totally define the Republican party. It is not complicated. It is all about him and that's all. There are no side show like: "This tax cut will help the middle class and provide lots of jobs. Nope. Everything and anything is about him. And, it is simple and clear for all to see. ..... And in the end, that....is.... the Republican party.!!!!
Of U.S. Airlines, United had the highest rate of pet deaths, in 2017, 2016, 2015

By Brandon Griggs, 6:10pm ET.
For pets, the skies of United Airlines lately have not been so friendly.
It's not just the French bulldog that died on a Houston-to-New York flight Monday after a United flight attendant told its owners to put the dog in an overhead bin.
Data from the US Department of Transportation show that three times as many animals died on United flights last year than on all the other US carriers put together. As you can see from this chart, 2017 wasn't an exception.
United has had the highest rate of pet deaths of any US airline for the past three years.

"Having a Torturer Lead the CIA," New York Times Editorial: (Warning, discussion of violence)

WARNING: DISCUSSION OF VIOLENCE AND CRUELTY
President Trump has displayed enthusiasm for brutality over the past year. He has told the police to treat suspects roughly, praised President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines for murdering people suspected of drug ties and called for the execution of drug dealers.
But one of his most unsettling beliefs is still his acceptance of the value of torture. In my opinion, it works, he told Sean Hannity of Fox News early last year.
Previously, anyone alarmed by Mr. Trumps cavalier embrace of government-sanctioned cruelty was reassured by his vow to accept the advice of his defense secretary, Jim Mattis, who opposes torture and promised at his Senate confirmation hearing that he would uphold American and international laws against it.
Now we have reason to be uneasy yet again. When it comes to torture, no American officials have been more practiced in those heinous dark arts than the agents and employees of the Central Intelligence Agency who applied it to terrorism suspects after 9/11. Few American officials were so directly involved in that frenzy of abuse, which began under President George W. Bush and was ended by President Barack Obama, as Gina Haspel.
On Tuesday, in announcing that he had dismissed Rex Tillerson as secretary of state and was replacing him with Mike Pompeo, the C.I.A. director, Mr. Trump said that Mr. Pompeos successor would be his deputy, Ms. Haspel. As an undercover C.I.A. officer, Ms. Haspel played a direct role in the agencys extraordinary rendition program, under which suspected militants were remanded to foreign governments and held at secret facilities, where they were tortured by agency personnel.
Ms. Haspel ran the first detention site in Thailand and oversaw the brutal interrogations of two detainees, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri. Mr. Zubaydah was waterboarded at least 83 times in a single month; his C.I.A. torturers bashed his head into walls and subjected him to other unspeakable brutalities. This cruelty stopped when investigators decided he had nothing useful to tell them.

CIA Report on Torture:Mother Jones Dec 9, 2014/WARNING ugly, cruel, totally descriptive, disturbing
If you hit the link..you will see the entire story..why post this now?
Gina Haspel, new pick for CIA Director, was part of overseeing this totally illegal program.. Torture is illegal. !! If she was partially in charge, then this needs to be discussed. How much control did she have? What were the orders?..Who gave them? How did she fit into the program..etc, etc, etc,

On Tuesday morning, the Senate intelligence committee released an executive summary of its years-long investigation into the CIAs detention and interrogation program. President George W. Bush authorized the so-called enhanced interrogation program after the 9/11 attacks. The United States government this week has warned personnel in facilities abroad, including US embassies, to be ready in case protests erupt in response.
The full report includes over 6,000 pages and 35,000 footnotes. You can read the executive summary here. Here are some of the lowlights:
