James Shaw Jr. Name of man who stoped gunman at Waffle House.

I would like this man's name up there. A legitimate hero, Stopped a shooter without a gun

29-year-old man credited with saving numerous lives Sunday morning after he disarmed a man who opened fire on an Antioch Waffle House said he was just trying to stay alive.

James Shaw Jr., 29, said after feeling cornered he saw an opportunity to tackle the man shooting into an Antioch Waffle House. He said he doesn’t feel like a hero.

Police spokesman Don Aaron told reporters Sunday morning that the Waffle House hero rushed the suspected shooter, disarmed him and threw the AR-15 rifle he was carrying over the counter.

I don’t really know, when everyone said that (of being a hero), it feels selfish,” Shaw Jr. “I was just trying to get myself out. I saw the opportunity and pretty much took it.”

9 Minutes of Gun Accidents, No One killed,..Minor Injuries..Many humorous..

http://www.military.com/video/guns/rifles/the-best-gun-accidents-of-2011/1092731756001

I found this in researching the number of gun accidents in the United States...found it by mistake...unusual, odd, weird, absurd.... whatever you want to call it....

If you hit the link above, you will see 9 minutes of gun accidents caught on tape or film..
....these are real "gun accidents." No one is "killed"... only "most minor injuries" ...usually by the gun backfiring, .....unexpected by the shooter......Yes... Some are very funny...that is why I posted this..

...Erma Bombeck.., "At Wit's End" ...Best time to enjoy life? How about right now?...

Wednesday June 26, 1991, page 51, Chicago Sun Times....(I found this cleaning out a pile of stuff, and I wanted to share this with you...)
_______________________________________________________________________________________
At Wit's End,
Erma Bombeck..

.... I have a friend who lives by a three word philosophy. "Seize the moment." Just possibly she might be the wisest woman on this planet. Too many people put off something that brings them joy, just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too ridged to depart from the routine...
.... I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that night in an effort to "cut back." From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.
....How many women out there will eat at home because their husband suggested they go out to dinner after something had been thawed? Does the word refrigeration have no meaning?
...How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat there in silence while you watched "Jeopardy"?
.... I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, "How about going to lunch in a half an hour?" She would gasp and stammer, "I can't." Check one: I have clothes on the line." "My hair is dirty." I wish I had known yesterday." "I had breakfast." "It looks like rain." And my personal favorite, "It's Monday." She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.....
....Because Americans cram so much into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all conditions are perfect. We will go back and visit the grandparents...When we get Stevie toilet-trained. We will entertain when we replace the living room carpet. We will go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.
...Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter and the lists of promises to ourselves get longer. One morning we awaken and all we have to show for our lives, is a litany of, "I am going to." "I plan on." " And someday when things are settled down a bit.."
...When someone calls my seize the moment friend, she is open to adventure, available for trips, and keeps an open mind on new idea. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious You talk with her for five minutes and you are ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungi cord.
....My lips have not touched ice cream for 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my hips with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process........The other day I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car hit an iceberg on the way home, I'd have died happy.

McConnell: I Will Not Bring a Mueller Protection Bill up for a Senate Vote

Source: Talking Points Memo

Just two days before the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider legislation to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller from being fired, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made clear he had no intention of letting such bill be brought up for a full Senate vote.

Im the one who decides what we take to the floor. Thats my responsibility, as the Majority Leader and we will not be having this on the floor of the Senate, McConnell told Fox News Neil Cavuto Tuesday. He reiterated his previous claims that such legislation is not necessary and that there is no indication that President Trump would fire Mueller.

I dont think the President is going to do that. And just as a practical matter, even if we passed it, why would he sign it? McConnell said.

This defines him. He will not even allow a vote. And he says Trump won't fire Mueller. Now, we will see about that, when Muller indicts Trump's son.

Time for a laugh...Interview with Mel Blanc, Letterman, 1981..Voice of Daffy, Bugs, and Porky and

Yosemite Sam ............many, many others...watch, enjoy, and laugh..a note to all..If you put together all the cartoons that Mel worked on, over 40 years, and realize that they were distributed everywhere. and millions upon millions of people have viewed them over all those years, in theaters and on TV. His voice overs may have received more laughs than almost anyone who acted in Hollywood.

About some ads that come back for again..and again...and again...

I hate the ads about the "tiny company that is revolutionizing an industry"..It is not a "tiny company" and the ads picture fairly young people standing against a wall...looking like they got the "answer" and they are revolutionizing an industry......

Here is the truth. They are selling auto insurance. The ads are lies. These ads use technology that tells the company what state the viewer lives in. Then the ad matches the state the viewer lives in with the ad..Is that the revolution??...maybe..But they are selling "auto insurance"..that is all..
... And...here is the catch. The most important aspect of these ads, and I hate this... The ads have been coming back for many months and longer...Now..what does that mean?? I think it means that the ads are successful at what they are meant to do..that is well auto insurance... Why would I say that?..An ad that is repeated over time is almost always successful.
.....The person paying for the ad, would not continue paying for the ad, over time, if it were not successful.............

Usually if an ad is not working, they take the ad down. That is how the ad industry works. If an ad is successful at selling, then the ad is repeated over and over and over. These ads are successful in my opinion because they are still being repeated, over and over and over. Everquote, the company behind the ads, has found a trick that works, ...young people standing against a wall proclaiming it is a "tiny company".. Who said it? There is a sucker born every minute? I don't know..but the fact that these ads are still around, and looks like there are more of them, means the company must be making money......If the company was not making money...there would be no more ads...

Please see post April 2017....where this is first discussed..(two Asian women revolutionizing an industry. So those ads have been running a full year...my guess is the company is making money on them..there are more now than before..

Janice Dickinson remembers feeling 'anger, disgust and ashamed',testimony on alleged rape by Cosby

Source: CNN

Norristown, Pennsylvania (CNN) Reality TV star and supermodel Janice Dickinson testified in court Thursday that she confronted Bill Cosby and wanted to punch him in the face after she said he drugged her and raped her in a hotel in Lake Tahoe in 1982.

"Do you want to explain what happened last night, because that wasn't cool," she told him, according to her testimony.

"I wanted to hit him, I wanted to punch him in the face," she said. "I can remember feeling anger, disgust, and ashamed."

Dickinson is the fourth "prior bad acts" witness to testify in Montgomery County court against Cosby, 80, in his trial on three charges of aggravated indecent assault.
