About Me

I thought I knew a lot, and I found out... how little I knew about what I know. And how much more there is to learn, if I listen and read what others have to say.

Journal Archives

If there are 6 female Republican senators, and if two or three were sexually assaulted

at some point in their lives, would their party affiliation over-ride their anger and hurt over the event?
They know how it feels, and we have a current thread of our women explaining those feelings, so wouldn't it seem logical that those senators would vote against the sexual assaulter no matter what? Could that happen? Or is it so far off that it couldn't happen? In the current thread, it is clear that this is never forgotten...never
But I don't know, and further, it is unlikely that those female senators have shared openly about that experience, and again, I don't know.

About Regular TV, No Cable, I Never had Cable TV, but still get stations of all types.

So, about an hour ago, I decided to check out how many stations I get on my antenna. (cheap $20.00 thing I bought about 13 years ago.) So, my TV is in the basement of a 2 story townhouse. I ran a wire from the TV up to the antenna which is in an unused bedroom on the second floor. The antenna is about 10 miles away from one of the TV towers that sends out signals. (at least that is where I think many signals come from..not sure).........OK...How many stations. of non- cable TV that comes from a cheap antenna about 10 miles from the tower???? Yes, I live in a suburb next to a very large city....

..............At least 51 stations, maybe 52..........I counted twice..

NO, I don't have any of the so called "movie stations" but there are a number that play old movies, and old TV shows of all types. Yes, the usual network stations. 2 or 3 educational stations..a quiz show station, at least 8 Spanish stations. 3 or 4 shopping stations. a religious station, or two..(not sure).. One station that plays old music, looks like a couple of cooking food stations.. Not sure of all the rest and how to classify them. I was switching around counting..and one show I caught was describing exactly how to move a full size house from one location to another, and another station was describing how to blow up and take down an old football stadium. The variety is endless. Another was describing the life of a butterfly and another was some sort of crime station. Today is Sunday, so there are a couple of football games on..(no I don't know who or where,, cause I was changing stations and counting.
..Yes, I got to add something else..I got about 200 video tapes and discs with movies and old shows on them. Got a nice collection of Star Wars movies, and Star Trek shows...In addition to old shows, I have collected about 1000 cartoons on tape and disc..so I can watch cartoons anytime I like. Yep that is about it. (yes, I love old cartoons and cartoon shows..(Animaniacs, Bugs Bunny, Pinky & Brain Batman and Robin)

......oh one more addition...I live about a 5 minute drive from the local library which has a collection of all the stuff that I don't have. Every movie that has ever been put on tape or disc. The new ones, the odd ones, entire collection of old shows, (like I Love Lucy, etc..).of course a huge collection of documentaries, and other add ons. If I don't have it, the library has it.

I watch the TV a couple of times a week (I like Judge Judy) but don't have any favorite current shows. I watch old shows that just happen to be on. (don't know if the Judge Judy shows are new or old)
... I guess I am on the computer too much, (the computer is on the 2nd floor) but all that is in the basement, if I want to get off the computer for a change, I go to the basement to watch something else.. Yes I will say it again, at least 51 stations (no cable)

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yuln Cruz slams Trump for claiming thousands didn't die in Hurricane Maria

Source: The Independent

The mayor of the capital of Puerto Rico has called President Donald Trump “delusional” for claiming thousands of Americans did not die in Hurricane Maria.

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, who has sparred frequently with Mr Trump about his response to hurricane, responded with a tweet of her own, calling the president “delusional, paranoid, and unhinged from any sense of reality”.

“This is NOT about politics this was always about SAVING LIVES,” she added.

Ms Yulín Cruz was an outspoken critic of the administration's response to Hurricane Maria in the direct aftermath of the storm, as well as in the months that followed. She first earned the president’s ire in a press conference days after the hurricane hit, when she begged for help and claimed the government was “killing us with the inefficiency”.

A thought about politicians "lying" and Trump in particular..

There is a general belief that politicians lie. Occasionally or more often. Nevertheless, this person is a pathological liar, All the time, any time.

What is so offensive is that he represents our country. The leader of our country is a "pathological liar" As a result there will be a "backlash" the likes we have not seen. The November election will be a way to say no to Trump and his lies.
... As a result, People will vote Democratic for the first time and last time to make a statement against Trump. Most of us hate his constant lies. There will be an expression of this in November and it will be very powerful. That is my opinion on what will happen and why that will happen.

Trump: Jamie Dimon doesn't have the smarts to be President

Source: CNN

The problem with banker Jamie Dimon running for President is that he doesn't have the aptitude or 'smarts' & is a poor public speaker & nervous mess - otherwise he is wonderful," Trump tweeted Thursday morning. "I've made a lot of bankers, and others, look much smarter than they are with my great economic policy!"

Trump was responding to comments Dimon made at an event at the bank's headquarters in New York where he said that he could beat Trump if he ran for president. Dimon later expressed remorse for the comments.

"I think I could beat Trump," Dimon, a Democrat, said Wednesday, according to a transcript posted by CNBC. "I can't beat the liberal side of the Democratic Party."

"I'm as tough as he is, I'm smarter than he is. I would be fine. He could punch me all he wants, it wouldn't work with me. I'd fight right back." Dimon added.

Maybe, just maybe this could qualify as one of the: "Top 10 Dumbest Statements Ever Made by Trump."

Hard to know, there have been just so many...

Proof that Trump is nuts..He is talking about his Puerto Rico hurricane response.

Only a delusional mentally ill person would bring up anything so horrific. Saying he did a great job, and then blaming the mayor for the deaths is sick. Why go back to something like that? And then, start the blame game all over again. What does that have to do with anything? Bringing that up today, under current circumstances, proves that he cannot focus on today's problems and needs to be removed as soon as possible

" The man doth protest too much, methinks" ("no collusion")

This was written a very long time ago. Written by William Shakespeare from Hamlet..but I am referring to Donald Trumps tweet today, "No collusion, no collusion," This was before any mention of what happened 17 years ago today, on September 11, 2001
______________________________________________________________________________________ _
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks" is a line from the c. 1600 play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, where it is spoken by Queen Gertrude in response to the insincere overacting of a character in the play within a play created by Prince Hamlet to prove his uncle's guilt in the murder of his father, the King of Denmark.[1][2]

The phrase is used in everyday speech to indicate doubt in someone's sincerity.

Today, before anything else was said, Trump tweeted, "No collusion...see this thread in latest news.

Trumps obsession with this one term, over and over and over and over and over..........proves he is obsessed with this idea of "no collusion." Why is this person obsessed with this idea? He has his own lawyers to prove the truth of an idea. There is an investigation going on that will focus light on this, and this is headed by someone who has a lifetime of investigations and respected by most in the "investigation community" (former head of FBI) Nevertheless.... Trump cannot stop tweeting this term.

Here is verification that Trump did indeed tweet this morning from NBC News

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-begins-solemn-9-11-anniversary-tweets-about-fbi-russia-n908401

I recall that line from Hamlet, "" The man doth protest too much, methinks"

.....A little boy has gotten into the refrigerator where there is a half gallon of chocolate ice cream. Also, there is a quart of chocolate syrup. These are his very favorite foods. His mom comes home and sees that the boy's face is full of chocolate as is his shirt. Also both the ice cream, and the syrup have been opened and are half gone. The little boy, age 6, say to his mother...."I didn't do anything. Honest mom, I didn't eat any ice cream or syrup" .
....Day after day he says the same thing when he sees his mom.."I didn't open the ice cream or eat the syrup. " "Honest Mom, it wasn't me."...over and over and over and over...What does mom think? What would anyone think? I have thought about it, and have an answer. The little boy, age 6, ate the chocolate ice cream and also the chocolate syrup .

... And with... Donald Trump....Yes, there was collusion...yes indeed, there was collusion. And because there was collusion, many in your crowd will....."go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass GO and Do Not collect $200.00.......

If Republicans loose big in November, who does Trump blame?

He always blames someone else, so who will that be?.. Pelosi? Obama? Ryan? Pence? Jared? Trump Jr?
Ivanka? New York Times? Woodward? ..Who will that be? I haven't got a clue.

About the First Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution..It reads:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

_________________________________________________________________________________________

I took a class many years ago..yes many, in Constitutional History of U.S.A. and I recall the professor said, that that sentence is the strongest language there is. " .........no law.." means.. NO LAW... NONE, nada, zero, empty, 0.,non, “nyet”, nein, の, 没有 , לא

No law, means ...NO LAW. ,,,The professor said that the writers of that made it simple and easy to understand.....ON PURPOSE......., (no I don't know who wrote it).....or .....................................

....."..abridging the freedom of speech or of the press: or of the right of the people to peaceably assemble,, and petition the Government for a redress of grievances."..................now, the courts interpret the law..and interpretation of the word .......NO is not very hard, even for Trump or any of those idiots..
................ok...................again................."NO LAW, means NO LAW"............

so the Trump crowd can talk, and talk..but..if Trump acts to put in a law that .."..abridges the freedom of speech or of the press.."........that will be it...Trump will be gone...and gone very soon after that action...

Proof that Trump cannot shut up..

Trump said, "I fell asleep during Obama's speech"

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/09/07/trump-obama-speech-response-north-dakota-sot-vpx.cnn

That is more than stupid. Totally unnecessary and insulting. Something that did not need to be said, but was said anyway. If Trump wanted to argue about a point Obama made, then argue. But that is not who Trump is. He insults and demeans. Trump is who he is, was, and will be. He just cannot shut up
