Indepatriot's JournalI Spoke to Mr. Friedman once.....
Outside a matinee showing of SICKO (I kid u not) in Pasadena. I walked up to him in the lobby and said.."Pardon me, Mr. Friedman, I've been reading your stuff for years, and I'd like to ask you a question." He: "Sure, what would you like to know" Me: " How have you managed to be so completely wrong about absolutely everything and yet still get paid?" He frowned and walked quickly away....
Not to belabor the point, but, can anyone spot a PERSON OF COLOR in any of those shots?
........ just askin...
Christie is an Assh*le, no doubt about it, but I heard "I hear ya, boy I hear ya.
I don't think it was meant as a slur at all. Just my take, but by all means smear away..... seems a bit much though, he'll never get the GOP nod, so It seems like wasted effort.
I was raised a Catholic, but by parents who taught me to think for myself....
My Mom (still a devout catholic) says I started asking questions that couldn't be answered right around my first communion.... It's like asking why one "believes" in science..... I guess the short answer is because I pay attention.
Everyone Loves Jello!
Saw the DK's many times "BITD", was always one of those kids yelling "shut up and rock!" when he'd start talking about Corporate Rule..... just a few years later I was the one "lecturing" the younger punks from the stage.....
Guilty as charged...
I was an Edwards supporter...doh! and remember a conversation with a good friend in early 07' about (now) President Obama. We both agreed we liked his agenda and his political skills, but I was adamant that America would not elect a black man at this point in history. When Edwards (thankfully) bailed I called the local Obama office to volunteer. I arrived for my first phone banking shift and the guy in charge asked me why I was there, I talked about my two young children and their future, and that I was old enough remember a time when corporations didn't control every aspect of our lives, when A man could get a decent job and pay the bills and raise a family on one income. He tore up the phone script right there and told me to just speak from the heart to the voters I would be calling..... I was FLOORED that this guy I'd never met was gonna "put the campaign in my hands". I knew right then and there they were playing a different game than others I'd worked on, and within a few weeks I had no doubt we could win. I'm not exaggerating when I say that campaign restored my faith in the possibilities and potential for making this once great nation a place for everybody, not just the wealthy. YES WE CAN!
True that, Lolly, I moved to L.A. in 99' and they still had some balance, with several
excellent lefties to help balance things out a bit. Then, in 05' or so they purged the joint of anyone worth reading. Objectively speaking, I can't see how Goldberg could be employed anywhere as a "journalist"....
Seth was pilloried for lampooning Murrikkka's grade school obsession with breasts
in a room full of women who have no problem baring their wares on the red carpet. ( I have no problem with the ladies using what they were blessed with to get what/where they need ) But the hypocrisy we were "treated" to here was pitiful. Hollywood lives on sex and violence, and I'll take more sex and less violence any day of the week. It brought to mind one of McFarlane's better lines about Jody Foster taking the stage in front of a billion viewers to plead for her privacy......... I'll donate to Ms. Judd as soon as she declares.
The responses are hilarious.... "the commie L.A. Times"
has been a worthless tool of the corporate right for about five years now, since they purged the staff of about 90% of their actual journalists. It's a pitiful shell of a once fine paper. Boy, the nutters are just making that Bubble bigger and thicker....
