democrattotheend's JournalYikes, did Biden look at his watch?
I didn't notice that. If so that's bad. It's all the pundits will talk about, channeling 1992. Ugh.
First Romney insulted Big Bird
And now Trump apparently insulted Mr. Rogers. Haven't Republicans figured out that going after beloved childrens' characters isn't the best way to win elections?
Wow, an article from National Review that actually makes sense
I hope this doesn't violate the rules here about linking to right wing sources, because I think it's noteworthy that even the National Review is criticizing the lack of transparency.
Obviously, this is a momentous story. The news that Trump had COVID upended the presidential campaign and raised the prospect of a crisis should he die in office.
At this sensitive moment, it is of the utmost importance that the White House convey accurate information about the presidents condition. People tend to doubt official assurances about a sick leaders health status in the best of circumstances, and the White House had limited credibility to begin with. It is now clear that the initial talk of the president having mild symptoms was misleading, and the White House physician Sean Conley compounded the offense in his press briefing Saturday at Walter Reed hospital by dancing around to avoid disclosing that the president had received supplemental oxygen. On Sunday, he admitted that he was trying, as he put it, to give an upbeat assessment to match the presidents positive attitude.
This wont do. The guy in the white lab coat should simply give the public the facts about the presidents condition and treatment and leave the spin to the usual suspects. Meanwhile, the president needs to make it clear that he wants his doctors to be transparent, and waive HIPAA and other doctor-patient protections so they can do so.

Just saw footage of Trump walking to Marine One
He looks okay as far as I can tell. He's actually wearing a mask. If not for the mask I'd wonder if the footage was recycled from an earlier day.
Biden was very classy. Let's follow his lead.
I can't stand Trump as much as the rest of you, but getting giddy over him getting the coronavirus on a public forum is in bad taste, and whatever you might say or do in private, I urge you not to do so here. Just as we often check FreeRepublic to see how they react when one of our beloved politicians gets sick or dies, people probably do the same here. Yes, this forum is not affiliated with the Democratic Party, but it has the word "Democratic" in its name and not everyone knows that.
Rachel Maddow is right - this disease is horrible and we shouldn't wish it on anyone. You don't have to feel sorry for Trump, but gloating over him getting the virus is in bad taste and serves no purpose but to make us all look bad.
