dixiegrrrrl's JournalNeed help with color in sig line
On my profile page, at bottom, under Sig line, the quote is red, which is what I wanted.
Here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=profile&uid=215853
but when I post,.... the sig line quote is not colored.
This is the code I am using for the sig line:
[div style='color:#CC0000;']History has proven that where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, all too frequently men with the mentality of gangsters get control......Lord Acton
I am so clueless when it comes to stuff like this....any help appreciated.
On edit: I just noticed that when I copied the sig line code into this post, where I said this was the code I am using, it is red.
But the same sig line at bottom of post is not red.
Rather than comply with gay marriage law, our Probate judge stops all marriages.
Our weekly town rag tells us the Probate Judge is threatening to quit performing all marriages, rather than be faced with carrying out gay marriages.
It was worded in a round about way, but the meaning is crystal clear.
Of course church marriages are still available, but that leaves each church to make up its own reasons for not including gay marriages.
See, that is why we cannot have nice things here.
Ala. is predominately rural, with hundreds of small towns.
So rather than carry out the law to allow everyone into the movies, they closed down the theater.
Same with swimming pools.
In bigger places, like Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville and the Dothan area, they built city pools in a white area park and a black area park.
The message was clear.
I can hear the backlash against the marriage thing now...
" See? We TOLD you that gay marriages would ruin straight marriages".
Mormon Church Comes Out in Support of LGBT Rights !!...sorta.
"We call on local, state, and the federal government to serve all of their people by passing legislation that protects vital religious freedoms for individuals, families, churches, and other faith groups while protecting the rights of our LGBT citizens in such areas as housing, employment, and public accommodation in hotels, restaurants, and transportation," Elder Dallin Oaks, a top official of the church, said. "[These] protections are not available in many parts of the country."
"We must all learn to live with others who do not share the same beliefs or values," church officials stated.

Christie goes all in on Detroit-style manager for Atlantic City
This is the exact same thing that happened in Greece, Italy and Spain...Democratically elected heads were replaced by unknown "managers"
who proceeded to impoverish thousands of workers.
Now with Atlantic City in financial turmoil, New Jersey is gambling on Michigan's stringent emergency management system to improve their own hand, but its a bet many say shouldnt even be on the table.
Late last week, New Jerseys Republican Gov. Chris Christie installed his own emergency manager to govern Atlantic City. The decaying casino town, though much smaller than Detroit, has found itself in dire straits for similar reasons: Both cities have suffered from shrinking tax bases, widespread poverty and the collapse of an industry that was central to its economy.
Orr has had a hand in managing both fiscal crises; Christie named him as a consultant to Atlantic Citys emergency management team.
Boy, 13, builds Braille printer with Legos, starts company
SANTA CLARA, Calif. In Silicon Valley, it's never too early to become an entrepreneur. Just ask 13-year-old Shubham Banerjee.
The California eighth-grader has launched a company to develop low-cost machines to print Braille, the tactile writing system for the visually impaired. Tech giant Intel Corp. recently invested in his startup, Braigo Labs.
Shubham built a Braille printer with a Lego robotics kit as a school science fair project last year after he asked his parents a simple question: How do blind people read? "Google it," they told him.
Snip.....
Intel executives were so impressed with Shubham's printer that in November they invested an undisclosed sum in his startup. Intel officials believe he's the youngest entrepreneur to receive venture capital, money invested in exchange for a financial stake in the company.http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2015/01/20/5458746/boy-13-builds-braille-printer.html#emlnl=Top_Stories%3A_Business_Review

Oh great..just when I thought it was safe to fly again...
A union local representing American Airlines mechanics is alleging in a lawsuit that American Airlines managers are pressuring them to send out airplanes that need repairs and are unsafe.
In order to improperly keep airplanes in revenue service, Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) at stations throughout the AA system have been subject to ongoing pressure from AA management representatives to commit maintenance fraud, disregard maintenance discrepancies, deviate from federally-mandated maintenance procedures, abstain from required lightning strike and bird strike inspections, and otherwise violate federal aviation standards, the union alleged.
I had read a few years ago the unions were complaining airlines were outsourcing repairs/inspections to other countries, unskilled workders.
WH: Denies giving out your personal info. re: health insurance, but now says it will stop doing it.
Bowing to an outcry over privacy, the Obama administration reversed itself Friday, scaling back the release of consumers' personal information from the government's health insurance website to private companies with a commercial interest in the data.
The administration made the changes to HealthCare.gov after The Associated Press reported earlier in the week that the website was quietly sending consumers' personal data to private companies that specialize in advertising and analyzing Internet data for performance and marketing.
The personal details included age, income, ZIP code, tobacco use, and whether a woman is pregnant.
Officials of the Health and Human Services Department had at first defended their information-sharing practices, saying the outside companies only used the data to analyze the workings of HealthCare.gov and make improvements to the website that benefit consumers. There is no evidence that consumers' personal information was misused, they said.http://bigstory.ap.org/article/c08e8f9667c54c86b36976ab8a338128/apnewsbreak-govt-reverses-health-care-privacy-problem
Remember..when they tell you "there is no evidence..blah blah blah"..that is NOT a denial.
It is an admission. "You have no proof, so we will deny it".
The "In case you were wondering if we really DO have morons in Gov't" WTF of the day:
the huge surge in jobless claims,
the lack of clear gains by firms on lower fuel costs,
rig count collapsing,
and homebuilder concerns in Shale states.
Plus the thousands of layoffs from oil companies.
But it was his follow up idiocy that sparked weakness:
*LEW SAYS HE DOESN'T EXPECT OIL PRODUCTION IN U.S. TO DECLINE
*LEW SAYS U.S. CRUDE PRODUCERS CAN HANDLE DECLINE IN OIL PRICES
The reaction - WTI broke quickly to a $45 handle on heavy volume.
Because, you know, there is no such thing as supply and demand at work.
Lovely chart at the link
