What is one of your kitchen/house tools from long ago that you still treasure today?

50 years ago I bought a stainless steel mixing bowl set for $8.00.

Somehow over the years, and you won't believe how many moves, I kept them.

Just made an apple pie, and a lunch salad using them, and each time I grab for one, I appreciate how long they have lasted, and how cheap they were even back then.

# 2 item has to be my ancient huge waffle iron, handed down from my Mom, along with recipe she used.

What's yours?

Looks as if Twitler committed voting fraud...how ironic.

There's a WaPo article about trump getting into a argument with Palm Beach mayor and town council
over about his wanting to build a dock at Mar-a-Lago.
Turns out, if Mar-a-lego is his residence, it can't be a club, and if it is a club, it can't legally be a residence, per previous written agreement.
And if it is not his residence, he voted by mail illegally in Fla. election recently.

Attorneys and historical preservationists in South Florida immediately began digging into town records, unearthing an agreement that Trump made in 1993 to convert Mar-a-Lago from a single-family residence to a private club owned by a corporation Trump controls. The agreement includes a provision that bans members from using the club’s guest rooms for longer than seven days at a time three times a year. Trump’s attorney at the time, Paul Rampell, assured council members that he would not live at the club.

“One prevalent issue remains lingering, whether President Trump still considers Mar-a-Lago Club his residence,” Stambaugh said Tuesday. “He still can’t have it both ways. It’s either a club or a residence — not both. Florida’s voting laws apply to citizen Trump. If he resides there, he will have to close the club.”

Enter your state and see how it is doing re: the virus in real time

For example, Alabama growth rate:

On average, each person in Alabama with COVID is infecting 1.12 other people. Because this number is only slightly above 1.0, it means that COVID is growing, but slowly.

Positive test rate=5.5%
Indicates testing is not widespread

ICU headroom used=
Alabama has 1,553 ICU Beds. Normally, 465 are unoccupied. We estimate there are currently 121 COVID cases in the ICU, or 26% of typically free beds. This suggests there is likely enough capacity to absorb a wave of new COVID infections.[/div

Ponder this:

“The result of a consistent and total substitution of lies for factual truth
is not that the lie will now be accepted as truth and truth be defamed as a lie,
but that the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world
— and the category of truth versus falsehood is among the mental means to this end
— is being destroyed."

Anyone have information on how Bloomberg is helping virus victims?

I mean, he IS doing something, isn't he?

after all his talk about wanting to take on trump, it seems a natural step for him to help with the medical needs, it would be such a slap in the face to trump.

Surely Bloomberg has thought of that, right?

Right?

anyone....?
