Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman

There is a point that I think needs to be added to the discussion about Zimmerman. Casey Anthony (or as Nancy grace calls her.."Tot mom.&quot just won a case most of the nation thought was a slamdunk. The general line in the media was that the prosecution tried going for a higher charge without enough evidence. The prosecutor resigned, and the wreckage is still smouldering in the Orlando area, the same metropolitan area the Zimmerman case is in. Sorry to say, but the prosecutors already know they cannot control a media circus, even if they have to truck in jurors from across the state like they did with Casey Anthony. The media knows they will be able to get away with murder, especially since many of them are already planning to be in the area for the GOP convention later on this year.

The points to ponder are:
1) will the prosecution feel confident pursuing a high charge when they are still smarting from the beating Casey Anthony gave them?

2) will the media feel even more emboldened to turn the trial into a media circus?, considering they were successful recently, and that Florida has rewarded such tactics handsomely before : Anthony, Terry Schiavo, Election 2000, Elian Gonzalez, the list goes on.

I am not sure if I am on to something, but I am beginning to wonder.

Trayvon Martin case: George Zimmerman quietly pleaded not guilty

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/nationworld/sns-la-na-nn-zimmerman-not-guilty-plea-20120424,0,769109.story

OK, we saw this coming...if he was smart, he would have taken a plea, and got worked down to some low low charge that means he would be out in time for the GOP convention in Tampa.

OH, I love this quote:

"The Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure allow Zimmerman to enter a not-guilty plea on paper. Kenneth B. Nunn, a law professor at the University of Florida, said the paper plea was probably a minor tactical maneuver on O'Mara's part to reduce the hassles involved with having Zimmerman appear in public.

"Why have him come out of hiding and have another chance for his location to be discovered -- and then have him go in front of the court for something that's meaningless anyway?" Nunn said.

In short, he is being sneaky, and the courts are allowing him to be sneaky.

Scott approves bill creating Florida Polytechnic University

http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/article1226125.ece

As the article outlines, this university is a political gift to JD Alexander, who has been the godfather iof the GOP led Florida Legislature. In the same budget where Rick Scott cut and diced education (especially University level) he hands this gift to JD, who oddly enough, has land that will be developed around this University. Did I tell you he also has a highway planned that will lead right to this university, land that will be developed at taxpayer expense?

If Debbie Wasserman-Schulz cannot find a way to make this hurt the GOP in November, she should turn in her stripes. This is the perfect example of how the GOP LOVES PORK when it is one of their cronies, and how they will glady slit out throats to feed the pigs.

BTW, not that Florida cannot use a greater commitment to science, but we have UCF, the largest enrollment IN THE USA, near NASA, Of course, good luck trying to get enginnering students to come to a place where their degress are worth jack, especially since India and China take the tech jobs. At the risk of being politcally incorrect, I bet JD raids India and China to stuff his college with students.

OH, last and far from least: here is the "plan"

Jetson style architecture done by an overpriced architect that I am sure will run over budget, and be subject to derison by Polk County, the reddest of Florida counties, you know, the ones that have Klan Rallies in nearby Auburndale. It's funny how these people that claim to hate how we Yankees ruined Florida keep electing the people who do their best to make Florida unlivable. I wonder what they will say when the development Alexander plans to spur brings more newcomers.

OK PPS:
If you are an engineering student in India, China, or anywhere, and this place offers you scholarships to fill it's enrollment, do NOT take it. In addition to getting hosed, you will have to deal with the sort of people that whose only problem with George Zimmerman is that he did not kill enough black people, people ready to "stand their ground" if you look like yo do not belong there? Did I mention that the county seat is in a town called Mulberry, named after a legendary tree the Klan used for some of the largest lynching ceremonies in the South?

SYG, Trayvon, and the GOP convention in Tampa

OK, let me preface this by saying I hope I am wrong about the theory I am going to put forward. I hope so, but these years have taught me that horros stranger than fiction can come forth, especially with the media supporting them.

OK, of course, the right wing media has lept all over the Tray martin shooting, trying to defend zimmerman and that stupid law. Now we have Neo Nazis "patrolling" Sanford. The idea that this issue would come up in Florida, where a contentious GOP convention is going to be, seems a little too coincidental.

Already, they are trying to make "clean zones" where you cannot bring so much as a squirt gun or a mask. Of course, the right wing pointed out that they could NOT ban people with concealed weapons permits. So, you will have the cops beating down anyone whose sign can be thought of as a weapon, while the right wingers will be able to parade with their guns out, ready to act under SYG if they fell "threatened."

And if such a slaughter happens, it will be a great time to blame those "hippies" for starting a riot, and of course, it would take the camera away from the fact that die hard Right wingers are going to try to steal the nomination from Mitt, so they can run, oh, Jeb Bush? And it would be a good chance to show that if they did not lock Tampa down, there would have been more causalties.

Feel free to talk me down folks, but as is, I literally plan to be the hell out of the state that week.

A grover norquist quote that explains why Obama must win.

Yes, Mitt is inept, Yes, Mitt has no spine, Yes, Mitt might even try to bend left to make people like him.

But never forget, the power broker behind the GOP is Grover Norquist, and here is a quote that explains why Mitt is not accpetable under any circumstance:

http://www.westernprogressive.com/2012/02/norquist-wants-a-yes-sir-republican-president.html

"All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate."

Note, Grover knows that they do not need, nor even want, a leader in the white house, just a ribber stamp. They very weakness of Mitt --->IS<--- the selling point, just a W's low IQ was the selling point back in 2000, after all, they want the real leadership to go on behind the scenes, away from any voters.

Remember this quote if you think of staying home in November.
